2 Innovation Norway our mission Norway s primary Government agency for innovation and industry development Fostering growth and international opportunities for Norwegian companies and innovation networks. 750 mill in annual grants/loans 21 regional offices in Norway 38 offices in 31 countries
3 1. The basis for a general program for the bioeconomy 2. The requisite for a Norwegian Network for Industrial Biotechnology 3. Strategic International collaboration UK as an exemple 3
4 Norway in the bioeconomy OECD s recomondations Our government s biotech strategy 2030: Industrial biotech will account for 40% of total biotech GVA Build networks between industry and academia. Support multidisiplinary technology development and industry investments. Support technology transfer within industrial biotech. Support coordinated and marketdriven research initiatives. Support access to pilot- and demonstration facilities Make use of existing and new clusters / network. Develop technologies that provide environmentall benefits create the basis for integrated biorefineries. Process leftover feedstock to high value products. Encourage industry to increase investment and participation in international projects. Competence building in biocatalysis / fermentation. Building the infrastructure for scaling up interaction with the corresponding facilities in Europe 4
