15 SIX AIRBAGS * TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING AUTOMATIC TENSIONING SYSTEM ACE BODY STRUCTURE Every Civic has standard front, front side and side curtain airbags that can help reduce the likelihood of injury in a collision. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) 6 alerts the driver when pressure loss in any tire becomes significantly low. The front seat belts are equipped with an automatic tensioning system that is designed to tighten the seat belts in a moderate-to-severe frontal impact. The Honda-exclusive Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. Airbags inflated for display purposes. CONTROLLED STOPPING The anti-lock brakes (ABS) help maintain control during hard stops. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) applies appropriate braking force, depending on how the vehicle is dynamically loaded. VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA ) helps sense oversteer or understeer, and brakes individual wheels and/or reduces engine power to help keep you on your intended course. FRONT SEATS AND HEAD RESTRAINTS The Civic s new front seats and head restraints have been engineered to be less complex than those with active front head restraints while still providing the necessary protection. The new seats have been designed to have the occupant s head and torso move together, helping to reduce the likelihood of whiplash injuries in a rear-end impact. *Honda reminds you and your passengers to always buckle up. Children 12 and under are safest when properly restrained in the rear seat. VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle s course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
