4 Ruka, FIN 27th 29th November 2015 What s new During the one of the biggest World Cup weekend in Nordic disciplines Ruka offers side events as Skiing fair Test Canter up in the Ruka Village with the several equipment importers as well as local entrepreneurs. On Friday 28 th November the bib handover ceremony with the top athletes will take place in the Village. Venue Info In Ruka area there are nearly 500 kilometres of skiing tracks. Ruka Ski Resort is one of the biggest ski canters in Finland; it includes 34 slopes and 21 skiing lifts. Besides Ruka Ski Resort, the most famous tourist attraction is Oulanka National Park with 80 kilometres long hiking route Karhunkierros. During the route there are number of rapids, the most famous ones being Kiutaköngäs and Jyrävä. There are nearly 50 safari organizers ready to make an adventure of a lifetime with snowmobiles, snowshoes, husky dogs, reindeer, fishing gear, canoes and whiter water rafts! In Kuusamo area there lives about inhabitants, but thanks to Ruka Ski Resort and popular nature sights, the services of the area match a lot larger town. There are nearly 50 restaurants varying from large hotel bars to cosy countryside restaurants, many of them offering local delicacies. Spa Kuusamon Tropiikki and Angry Birds Activity Park guarantee a successful vacation for families with children! When talking about wellbeing, sauna is of course a big thing in Finland, combined with massage and other pampering treatments. 9 Lillehammer, NOR 4th 6th December 2015 Venue Info The World Cup Cross Country race will take place in the Birkebeineren Cross-Country Ski Stadium, the Olympic arena for cross-country and biathlon events in Lillehammer Olympic Winter Games in February The courses and stadium was upgraded and ready for the World Cups in 2013 and 2014, see the enclosed venue and course maps. Birkebeineren Ski Stadium in Lillehammer will be the venue for both World Cup CC and NC. The CC Stadium is a venue that keeps the high international standard both for the athletes, public and media. The venue is being used for, in addition to the FIS World Cup events, the Birkebeinerrennet CC event, Inga-Låmi CC Ladies event as well as for other national and international events each winter. In February 2016, the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium will be the venue for the Youth Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer. About Lillehammer Lillehammer is located in the eastern part of Norway, 180 km from Oslo. The distance from Oslo Airport Gardermoen is about 150 km.
