3 SUNDAY July 19 PROVIDED SWIM CAPS MUST BE WORN BY ALL EVENT PARTICIPANTS IN OCEAN EVENTS. SWIM CAPS ARE HIGHLY VISIBLE AND ARE A MANDATORY SAFETY REQUIREMENT. ANY OCEAN EVENT PARTICIPANT REFUSING TO WEAR A PROVIDED SWIM CAP WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT. THANK YOU

4 SUNDAY July 19 RACE PARTICIPANT ACCOUNTABILITY PER SAN CLEMENTE MARINE SAFETY DEPARTMENT ATTENTION SAFETY COUNT: Biathlon (1K Swim 5K Run) and One Mile Ocean Swimmers - please note we are required by San Clemente Marine Safety (Lifeguards) to count each entered athlete before the race start and at the finish. When entering the start area all racers will be issued a numbered COLORED WRISTBAND. Wristbands will be removed after the finish. No racers will be allowed on the course without a COLORED WRISTBAND. 6 EVENT 10 5K BEACH RUN Course: The course is around all flags as directed by the starter. At no time during the race may a competitor impede another competitor. Any competitor failing to round all flags will be disqualified from the race. Run south on the beach to flag (2.5km) return and finish at finish chute. Start: Runners shall start from behind a line on the beach. Finish: Runners will finish in an upright position in the funnel finish set up on the beach. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification. EVENT 11 BIATHLON (1,000 METER SWIM-5K BEACH RUN) failing to round all buoys will be disqualified from the race. Swim (1) one complete lap around triangle course (buoys #1, 2 & 3). Exit water and run south on the beach to flag (2.5km) return and finish at finish chute. No fins, hand paddles or wetsuits allowed. Start: Swimmers shall start from behind a line on the beach. Finish: Swimmers will finish in an upright position in the funnel finish set up on the beach. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification.

7 EVENT 12 10km Open Ocean Paddle Race SUP Surfboard, 12 6 & 14 0 Prone Paddleboard Unlimited UL, 12 0 stock Surf Ski - Open failing to round all buoys will be disqualified from the race. Paddlers complete one (2) lap around designated course. Exit water and finish at finish chute. Start: Paddlers will line up between the starting line flags in knee-deep water. The paddler s body shall be behind the starting line. Finish: Paddlers will finish in an upright position with paddle in hand - in the funnel finish set up approximately 10 meters from the water. All competitors must cross the finish line from a seaward position. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification. EVENT 14 ONE (1) MILE OCEAN SWIM failing to round all flags will be disqualified from the race. Swim two (2) complete laps around triangle course (buoys #1, 2 & 3). Exit water and finish at finish chute. No fins, hand paddles or wetsuits allowed. Start: Swimmers shall start from behind a line on the beach. Finish: Swimmers will finish in an upright position in the funnel finish set up approximately 10 meters from the water. All competitors must cross the finish line from a seaward position. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification.

8 EVENT 15 RUN-SWIM-RUN (400m Run 400m Swim 400m Run) failing to round all flags will be disqualified from the race. Run (1) lap on the sand as directed by the starter. Then swim one (1) complete lap around buoys #1 & #3. Exit water and run around flag at north end of course to the flag at North end of the course and finish at finish chute. No fins, hand paddles or wetsuits allowed. Start: Racers shall start from behind a line on the beach. Finish: Racers will finish in an upright position in the funnel finish set up approximately 10 meters from the water. All competitors must cross the finish line from a seaward position. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification. EVENT 16 SPLASH & DASH RELAY failing to round all flags will be disqualified from the race. Runner one (1) lap around the flags then tag swimmer Swimmer - one (1) lap around buoys #1, #2 & #3. Exit water and finish at finish chute. No fins, hand paddles or wetsuits allowed. Start: Runners & Swimmers shall start from behind a line on the beach. Runners complete run the first leg of the course then tag the swimmer (second leg) within the transition zone. Finish: Swimmers will finish in an upright position in the funnel finish set up approximately 10 meters from the water. All competitors must cross the finish line from a seaward position. Any shifting or hassling for position in the funnel will result in disqualification.
