Glazed with 4mm float and/ or toughened glass where applicable. Internally fixed: Secured in place using internal clamps, covered with liner and finished off with corner caps. It is highly recommended that personal protective equipment be used. This is left to the discretion of the user, but gloves are essential when handling glass. As with all glass, extreme care must be taken when handling and you must avoid any shock loading to the edges. 1. Replacement glazing procedure Remove vertical beads. o Insert craft type knife or small flat screwdriver into one corner of bead. o Push in and leave in place o Insert another craft type knife or small flat screwdriver into the joint and run up vertically. o Bead will pop out. Remove horizontal beads as above. Handy tip If resistance is felt or the bead is not popping out it may be: a) Silicone sealant on the bead. Insert a craft type knife behind glazing gasket and run along bead length. b) Over tightened clamp screws in line with bead Release tension by un-screwing clamp screws one turn. Remove glass. o From the inside of the van starting at one of the bottom corners of the window insert a craft type knife in between the frame and the glass. o Guide the knife along the horizontal and up both verticals leaving top horizontal until last leaving a small amount of silicone in place to retain the glass in position. o From the outside free remaining silicone and remove glass pane and glazing packers (if fitted). o Remove all silicone from frame and glass using a small chisel and a craft type knife on the glass. o To ensure a good bond of the glass to the frame prime the aluminium frame silicone channel using proprietary safety cleaner. o Apply a continuous bead of clear silicone sealant around the perimeter.

Condensation on Single Glazed Windows Condensation is the liquid formed by reducing a gas or vapour. Most householders will be familiar with condensation occurring on single glazed windows especially when it is cold outside and warm inside, particularly when the warm air is moist e.g. when cooking or bathing. Cold air is conducted from the outside to the inside surface of the window. When warm, moist air (water vapour) comes into contact with this cold surface it cools rapidly and creates condensation. Caravan Holiday Homes are no different, except that they are often left unoccupied for long periods of time. To help prevent condensation from pooling on window sills or running down internal walls we provide a condensation channel around the window perimeter to collect this water and holes are present at the bottom at each side to allow drainage, by gravity, to the outside of the caravan. In extreme circumstances, when the air pressure is greater on the outside than it is on the inside e.g. in strong winds, water that would normally drain away can be forced back inside the caravan - a situation known as blowback. It is recommended that in extreme weather conditions and when the Holiday Home is left unoccupied that these holes are temporarily sealed on the inside with tape or other suitable material. Steps to reduce condensation. Double glazing does help in reducing, but not eliminating condensation as the air gap between the two panes of glass restricts the amount of cold air that is transmitted from the outside to the inside. Aluminium Spacer Ellbee double glazed windows and doors are supplied with the latest Warm Edge Super Spacer technology providing class-leading energy efficiency as standard. The best way to reduce condensation is to have adequate ventilation, which provides regular air changes, and in so doing reduces the moist air content. The DIAMOND Window System also benefits from an innovative drain cap that will tackle the problems caused by blowback. Super Spacer

Appendix 1 Toe and Heeling De-Glazing Routine Cleaning & Maintenance Trouble shooting guide General Conditions for all Guarantees

Toe and Heeling What is Toe and Heeling? upvc doors are heavy, and although the dead weight is supported on the hinge side when it is opened, there is nothing on the lock side to support the weight, and without the procedure of toe and heeling the door will drop on the handle side, sooner or later. To stop a door dropping the glass itself has to be braced diagonally corner to corner by the insertion of plastic packers slipped in the gap between the glass and the frame, under the beading. On the hinge side the packers go at the bottom corner, whilst on the lock side, the packers go at the top (opposite) corner. To explain further: To picture this in your mind more easily, look at or visualise the back of a normal wooden side gate and you will see three ledges, that is horizontal planks one top, one middle, and one bottom. These ledges are used for the diagonal planks of wood to sit on so as to brace across and therefore to stop the gate dropping on the lock/handle side.

Routine Cleaning and Maintenance Stains on the framework may be removable using a domestic non-abrasive cream cleaner. However these should not be used to excess as they may affect the gloss finish. Foiled surfaces should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth. If necessary a mild solution of detergent/ soap in luke-warm water can be used. The veneer is a finished product and consequently should not have any additional enhancements made to it, for example - do not varnish the veneer. On no account should any polishes, abrasive or solvent-based cleaners be used as some of these may affect the finish. Most organic solvents affect PVC and must not be used for cleaning. A proprietary glass cleaner can be used if necessary. Periodically: Clean the gaskets and framework with a mild solution of detergent and water to maintain the appearance. Check all drainage channels and remove any obstructions. Check all seals and gaskets and repair / replace any defects Check all moving parts and clean / lubricate moving parts / repair / replace any defects.
