1 UNIVRSITY OF LINCOLN JOB SCRIPTION JOB TITL PARTMNT LOCATION Organisational evelopment Trainer/ Advisor Human Resources Brayford Pool JOB NUMBR HR1033J GRA 6 AT August 2014 RPORTS TO Organisational evelopment Manager CONTXT The Organisational evelopment team sits within the Human Resources epartment, with a pivotal role in supporting the University strategic objectives to develop inspirational staff, managers and leaders, ensuring they have the opportunity and support to realise their potential. The team is responsible for ensuring that a relevant and supportive development provision is available to all employees across the organisation to meet both individual and organisational needs. This is a wide ranging post with responsibilities to co-ordinate and advise on organisational development opportunities that enhance individual, team and organisational objectives. As part of a busy team there will be a need to be flexible, possessing a positive and proactive attitude and approach to team working, dealing with a varied amount of information in a customer-focussed and solutions driven service environment. JOB PURPOS Reporting to the Organisational evelopment Manager, the purpose of this role is to work as part of a small, dedicated and professional team to support not only the Human Resources epartment but also the University in the implementation of new initiatives, processes and interventions in the broad area of people development. You will develop and support the delivery of key organisational development initiatives in order to enhance the performance of the business. They will implement the delivery of the annual organisational development plan including developing programmes in partnership with key suppliers and customers. You will also be key in developing collaborative working practices not only with other members of the HR team, but with various managers and staff groups across the University. This will require excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills and an in depth knowledge and understanding of training and development activities, customer requirements and organisational needs. 2 KY RSPONSIBILITIS evelopment and elivery of Learning Initiatives To ensure the production and effective delivery of the annual Organisational evelopment plan To recruit and work collaboratively with internal colleagues and a group of external suppliers to provide a cost effective training and development programme To be responsible for organising, delivering and continually improving the Lincoln Welcome induction experience for all new staff Co-ordination of the Graduate Intern Programme, The Lincoln Award, including workshop design and delivery Co-ordination of the ILM awards for managers in conjunction with external suppliers To ensure the use of technology supports our staff development programme including the development and management of our current e-learning To liaise with members of the ducational evelopment nhancement Unit to develop the overall staff development provision for all employees evelopment and Improvement- Policy and Process To monitor and analyse the quality and effectiveness of key programmes To research and seek opportunities to develop a blended learning approach to the internal staff development programme To manage the process of booking and evaluation for internal courses and continuously identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvement To co-ordinate administrative support for staff development, appraisal and induction within the University To assist with the development and operation of Organisational evelopment policies and procedures which support the delivery of the University s strategic plan To seek to introduce new ways of accessing learning and development resources using technology To promote the Personal and Professional evelopment (CPP) Framework, ensuring that all Organisational evelopment initiatives sit within this Page 2 of 6

3 Management of Resources Assist in the management of the development budget maximising value achieved and ensuring that all interventions meet strategic business plan requirements Proactively manage suppliers to ensure value for money and the delivery of quality training and development programmes, following the University financial regulations and tendering process as required Customer Relationship Management To assist members of staff with general professional and personal development queries and provide the appropriate guidance To work effectively with line managers to ensure that priority development and training needs are addressed evelop effective networks internally and externally to enhance the reputation of the function and seek every opportunity for personal continuous development nsure that training and development activities are integrated with other University activities within the HR function and ensure positive working relations with other members of the HR team In addition to the above, undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
