Crank Room Students produce electricity using a hand-powered generator to turn on a variety of appliances generally found in their homes. The generator demonstrates how much energy it takes to power each appliance. Stack Game How do you stack up? The stack game engages students in a hands-on activity enabling them to see how much electricity a home uses. Each cylinder represents the kilowatthour usage of an appliance as the stack gets taller, students are asked how they can reduce their electricity consumption. Builders Showcase Students take a closer look at how electricity moves from power lines to the inside of a house. A cut-away house demonstrates the importance of insulation placement to help keep houses cool and warm. This area also showcases high efficiency appliances and windows. E N E R G I Z E C T. C O M 11
