2 Symantec Secure One TM Style Guide This style guide is designed to provide a technical understanding of the components and structure of the corresponding logos for the program. Specifically, it provides standards and specifications for use of program logos, colors, and typography to ensure consistent representation. You are required to follow our style and branding guidelines when reproducing any of the logos associated with the program as the consistency of presentation not only strengthens our partner relationships, it also increases Symantec s overall brand equity. These guidelines are here to help you represent Secure One effectively, consistently, and with an eye toward the overall Symantec brand strategy. Equally important, the guidelines help partners capitalize on the strength of the trusted Symantec brand. Should you have any questions regarding approval processes or inquires around correct logo usage, please contact your Partner Success Manager or the Partner Marketing Center.* The logos in this document are not a comprehensive representation of all logos available to Symantec partners. 3 Secure One Logo Program logos can be customized to various tiers and categories. Only the sub-headline can be altered. The Symantec logo and Secure One name must remain as is. The white Secure One logo is the preferred program logo. Please default to the white logo whenever appropriate. Secure One Logos Secure One Tier Secure One for Distributors Secure One Logos Logos have been created for specific membership tiers of certification. To use these logos, your company must meet the criteria established by Symantec for your certification membership tiers. You may only use the logo for which you have received certification. Secure One Tiers The Secure One tiers recognize partners that have the deepest technology capabilities and the ability to demonstrate customer success in selling, deploying, and providing services for more sophisticated, valueadded Symantec solutions. Secure One for Distributors Distribution partners with membership in Secure One may use a customized logo identifying them as Secure One Distributors SECURE ONE STYLE GUIDE 3

4 Clear Space Don t crowd the logo. To ensure that our Secure One logo retains the prominence it deserves, it is important to position it in layout with the proper amount of clear space. Maintain a border of clear space equal to 1/4 of the width of the logo. Your company s logo should always appear larger and in a more prominent position than the Secure One logo. The Secure One logo should be secondary. Do not make the logos equal in size or place them too close together, since this is not a co-branding effort. DO NOT ALTER OR DISTORT LOGO IN ANY WAY. 5 Preferred and Minimum Size Preferred Sizes (Print) When reproducing the Secure One logo at any scale, it is important that the logo reproduces with clear legibility and impact. Always work with the files provided to ensure clarity. PRINT: Preferred print size is 3/4 inches wide for a lettersized canvas. SCREEN: Preferred on-screen size is 106 pixels wide at 72 dpi for non-retina displays and 185 pixels wide at 72 dpi for retina displays (218 ppi or higher). Preferred Sizes (Print) PRINT 0.75 (19.05 mm) 0.75 (19.05 mm) Minimum Size 0.5 (12.7 mm) 0.5 (12.7 mm) Minimum Size Secure One logos should always be large enough to ensure legibility. To ensure that logo is prominent and readable at reduced sizes, the minimum size for print media will be 0.5 inches wide, or 12.7 mm wide. When dispayed onscreen, the logo must be no less than 88 pixels wide at 72 dpi for non-retina displays and 108 pixels wide for retina displays (218 ppi or higher). BUSINESS CARDS: Due to their smaller size, logos may be reduced so that Secure One logo is 0.4 inches wide, and should not be bigger than your company s logo. 6 Color Palette Color plays a vital role in the Symantec branding strategy. Consistent use of color reinforces the Symantec brand identity and enhances brand recall. Primary Color Palette Secondary Color Palette Symantec Yellow and Symantec Black are the colors used in the Symantec Logo and appear across all communications as the primary colors representing the Symantec brand. Tints (screen values) of Symantec Yellow and Symantec Black can be used to enhance the primary color palette. 7 Logo Files Secure One logos are provided in several formats. These logos have been provided for specific media and should be used according to guidelines. Scaling should be in proportion to media size and location. Vector.EPS CMYK logos are intended for print use only. The bitmap.png logos are intended for on-screen and presentation use only. These logos are provided in RGB and should only be used for digital representation. Print (Plain, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Registered, other) Suitable for print, signage, and other non-screen media CMYK Dark CMYK Light Vector (.EPS/.AI) On-Screen (.PNG/.PSD) DO NOT ALTER OR DISTORT LOGO IN ANY WAY. 8 4-Color Logos and Symantec Secure One TM signatures Proper application of the Symantec Secure One TM signatures is essential for promoting, maintaining, and protecting the Symantec Secure One TM brand. Adhere to the specifications in these standards and use high-quality vendors and reproduction methods to ensure consistent representation of the brand. The proper color and configuration of the logo is essential to project a consistent image across a wide variety of communications and media. Adherence to these guidelines will ensure that the logo is used consistently and legibly. SECURE ONE STYLE GUIDE 8

9 Typography Written communications are an essential tool in maintaining the Symantec brand, and consistent typography plays a significant role in achieving this goal. With this in mind, and in place of the Trade Gothic and Minion fonts used previously, we have developed proprietary typefaces that should be used in all external Symantec communications.our primary corporate typeface is Symantec Sans, a unique and versatile sans serif design suitable for most types of work. Our secondary corporate typeface is Symantec Serif, a contemporary typeface specially designed to complement Symantec Sans. 10 Social media guidelines for Symantec Partners Symantec believes in open dialogue with our partners and among its employees, customers, and the general public. A transparent dialogue is inherent in our business model of innovation, and in our commitment to the support of our mutual customers. As part of our core value of trust, Symantec trusts its partners to exercise personal responsibility when participating in social media. The guidelines below will help you effectively identify yourself as a Symantec Partner and understand the appropriate usage of the Symantec brand. Visit Social Media for Symantec Partners to learn how you can engage with Symantec via Twitter, Facebook, Symantec Connect, and other social networking sites. Only those who are officially designated by Symantec are authorized to speak on behalf of Symantec online, including in or on any blog, podcast, video, or social networking site. Partners who wish to talk about Symantec or its products or services on any non-symantec sponsored sites, including their own company s sites, such as Web forums, blogs, or social networking sites, must make it clear at the start of any such communication that they are making their own statements or expressing their own opinions, not statements or opinions of Symantec. Partners may not use the Symantec Logo or branding without express written authorization from Symantec. Any use of the Symantec Logo or branding on partner websites or social media sites must follow the guidelines in our Secure One Style Guide or that otherwise have been communicated to the partner. When interacting with someone online in regards to a topic related to Symantec or its products or services, be sure to identify yourself as a partner, not as an employee or official spokesperson of Symantec. All interactions online in regards to a topic related to Symantec or it products or services should respect intellectual property, false advertising, privacy, confidential disclosure, financial disclosure, and other applicable laws.
