3 What is rdic Ecoabeed outdoor furniture/ payground equipment? The purpose of the criteria is to secure ow environmenta impact in the production and use of outdoor furniture and payground equipment. The environmenta requirements have been drawn up from a ife cyce perspective and have been formuated to ensure minimum environmenta impact during production, use and in the waste phase. Requirements have accordingy primariy been imposed with respect to the foowing: a) Wood raw materias from sustainabe forestry operations. b) The use of recyced pastic and meta raw materias and a design that permits the re-use of pastic and meta. c) The use of chemicas with a ower environmenta impact. d) Good performance properties (safety, strength and stabiity). The rdic Ecoabeed product must be accompanied by information on how to maintain the product and recommended maintenance of products. This information must aso incude instructions on how to proceed when the product comes to the end of its usefu ife. Why choose the rdic Ecoabe? The icence-hoder may use the rdic Ecoabe, the Swan, ogo in marketing activities. The rdic Ecoabe enjoys widespread renown and credibiity in the rdic countries. rdic Ecoabeing represents a simpe and cost-effective way of communicating a company s environmenta work and commitment to its customers and suppiers. Embracing environmentay friendy production wi aso prepare the company for the introduction of mandatory environmenta requirements by the authorities. Environmenta issues are compex and earning about specific probems can be time-consuming. rdic Ecoabeing can be used as a guide in this process. The rdic Ecoabe criteria contain more than environmenta requirements, they aso comprise quaity requirements, since quaity and caring for the environment often go hand in hand. This means that the rdic Ecoabe can aso be viewed as a mark of quaity. rdic Ecoabeing of Outdoor furniture and payground equipment (26)
