New product announcement Offering a number of practical features, the L6 Notebook Manager dramatically improves user comfort and reduces the risk of long-term injury by promoting good ergonomic use of a laptop computer.
Overview The laptop computer is a great tool for workers on the go, but what about those bound to a desk? What about those who are only mobile part of the time? Ergonomically speaking, the laptop was never designed for the permanent or even semi-permanent workstation. With the L6 Notebook Manager, the discomfort and long-term injury risks of laptop use are a thing of the past. By encouraging the user to sit back in their chair and requiring the use of an external keyboard and mouse, the L6 promotes good ergonomic posture and allows the user to work as though on a desktop computer. With more practical features and an ease-of-use not offered by any other laptop holder, the L6 provides unrivaled performance and functionality, and is the ideal solution for any laptop user.
The Simple Solution to Laptop Hunch For all its convenience, the laptop computer can wreak havoc on the human body. Laptop users risk discomfort and pain from a number of musculoskeletal disorders and physical ailments that result from longterm laptop use. (Fig.1) But by elevating the laptop display to eye level and allowing the user to maintain healthy posture at an optimum distance from the screen, the L6 alleviates the risks and discomfort associated with Laptop Hunch. (Fig.2) Risks of Laptop Use Fig.1 Regular laptop users are at risk of musculoskeletal disorders and physical ailments that include: Neck pain Upper and lower back pain Carpal tunnel syndrome Computer vision syndrome Discomfort and pain from prolonged laptop use can result in any of the following: Decreased productivity Discomfort while performing other tasks Missed work/injury leave Workers compensation claims Fig.2
The L6 Advantage Key Guard Many laptop holders allow or even promote use of the keyboard while the laptop is in an elevated position, greatly increasing the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome and other wrist injuries. By blocking the laptop keyboard and requiring the use of an external keyboard, the L6 ensures the user will never be tempted to type in a high-risk posture. Intuitive Adjustment Unlike other laptop holders that require manual controls or propping mechanisms to adjust the laptop s display height, the L6 adjusts intuitively. A unique one-way clutch-bearing hinge allows the user to simply move the laptop to the desired height and let go there are no buttons or release mechanisms required. Such easy, intuitive adjustment ensures the user can get the most out of the L6 s ergonomic benefits and consistently work in the healthiest posture. Key Guard
Advanced Features Cable Management To organize cable clutter, the L6 features a unique cable storage bin and full cable management system. Cable management clips allow excess wire to be wrapped around and stowed for easy out-of-sight storage. When the laptop is removed, additional cable management clips hold cables in place to save time when reconnecting. Optional USB Hub The L6 is offered with an optional, removable 4-port USB hub for permanently connecting the external keyboard, mouse and up to 2 other devices, such as a printer. This simplifies both connecting and disconnecting the laptop for on-the-go users. Note: The USB hub is powered, and may require plugging into a power outlet for the use of certain devices. Security A security lock (not included) can be looped around the laptop support to secure the L6 to a laptop or anchor it to a work surface.
L6 and the Environment Not Just Recycled. Upcycled. Like all Humanscale products, the L6 is highly sustainable, containing materials that are 30% recycled and 95% recyclable. But more specifically, the L6 contains 23% post-consumer recycled content, including a large percentage of IQ Valox, which is a specific grade of plastic that uses plastic from drinking bottles and upcycles it into a better, stronger material unlike many recycling processes, which downgrade the plastic. In addition to post-consumer plastic, the L6 contains a large percentage of post-consumer recycled steel. With the use of upcycled plastic and post-consumer recycled steel, the L6 is one of the strongest, most sustainable laptop support solutions available.
