1 BUILDING CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PLAN (BIP) Building: Diley Middle School Building Strengths: Overall Progress (Value Added) for Reading and Math: A Students With Disabilities Progress: C Students in the Lowest 20% of Achievement Progress: B Gifted Progress: C Building Areas of Challenge: Value Added Grade 6 Reading: Value Added Grade 6 Math: 0.13 Value Added Grade 6 All Tests: 1.37 AMO Reading: 50% F (Did Not Meet: Economically Disadvantaged, African American, IEP, LEP) AMO Math: 50% F (Did Not Meet: Economically Disadvantaged, African American, IEP, LEP) 3 out of 5 Indicators Met: 60% D

2 Focus: (Goal #1) During the school year, 100% of the state indicators will be met as indicated on Diley s building report card.. Actions: A. Diley Middle School students will spend at least 90 minutes each week on ST Math. A. Mid Year Check: -Diley Middle School math teachers will participate in ST Math professional development by the end of November. -Diley Middle School math teachers will use data obtained from ST Math reports to monitor the percentile growth of students to determine small group intervention. B. Diley Middle School staff will implement Eureka, Wheatley, and Springboard curriculum frameworks during the 90-minute instructional block. B. Diley Middle School staff will meet in Teacher Based Teams (TBT) at least 2-3 times each month to discuss pacing and results from common ELA/Math assessments. C. Diley Middle School 5th grade science teachers will follow the established science pacing guide to ensure all topics are taught. C. Diley Middle School 5th grade science teachers will analyze student data from common formative and summative assessments during TBT meetings. ] D. Diley Middle School students will be progressed monitored at least 3 times a year using STAR Reading/Math assessments. D. Diley Middle School staff will use data obtained from the second STAR Quarterly Assessment Window to check the Student Growth Projections (SGP Report) and the Assessment Proficiency for subgroups (which checks the SGP s of each of the subgroups) Results we expect: By implementing curriculum frameworks and researched based programs (ST Math), 100% of the state indicators will be

3 met as indicated on building report card. Link to District CIP Related District Goal: PLSD will maintain its place in statewide distribution of schools Performance Index.

4 Focus: (Goal #2) All 6 th grade students will make at least one year s gain in reading and mathematics on the value added analysis as shown on the 2015 EVAAS Diley Report Card. Actions: A. Diley Middle School students will be progressed monitored at least 3 times a year using STAR Reading/Math assessments. Diley Middle School staff will analyze ongoing subgroup data using the STAR SGP s and STAR Assessment Proficiency Report during BLT, TBT and RTI meetings. B. Diley Middle School students will spend at least 90 minutes each week on ST Math. C. Diley Middle School staff will implement Eureka, Wheatley, and Springboard curriculum frameworks during the 90-minute instructional block. Mid Year Check: A. Diley Middle School staff will create an action plan to address students needs as determined by STAR assessments. The action plan will include but is not limited to improving E & I groupings, RTI Tiering, and small group classroom instruction. B. Diley Middle School math teachers will participate in ST Math professional development by the end of November. Diley Middle School math teachers will use data obtained from ST Math reports to monitor the percentile growth of students to determine small group intervention. C. Diley Middle School staff will meet in Teacher Based Teams (TBT) at least 2-3 times each month to discuss pacing and results from common ELA/Math assessments. Results we expect: By teachers understanding multiple sources of data and content specific learning standards, students will make at least one year s gain in Mathematics and English Language Arts during the school year. Link to District CIP Related District Goal: All students in grades 6 & 7 will make at least one year s gain on the value added analysis as shown on the 2015 EVAAS district report.

5 Focus: (Goal #3) Diley Middle School Gap Closing Rating will improve at least one letter grade on the 2014 Building Report Card. Actions: Mid Year Check: A. Diley Middle School staff will analyze ongoing subgroup data using the STAR SGP s and STAR Assessment Proficiency Report during BLT, TBT and RTI meetings. B.
