2 Implementing Rethink Online Rethink Online is a new approach to how government invests in and manages its online channels in order to achieve better customer experience, improved value for money and increased strategic agility.

4 Cross-agency working group Group was setup to gather the requirements for the common platform: Internal Affairs Treasury Ministry of Education Ministry of Culture and Heritage Ministry of Social Development Crown Law Inland Revenue Ministry for Primary Industries Maritime NZ PHARMAC Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Ministry of Transport NZ Transport Agency.

5 One CMS to rule them all!? Eligible agencies are actively encouraged to adopt the Common Web Platform. The working group concluded: Start with limited scope, then iterate Start with one CMS Consider other technical platforms if there is demand

Priority 3.2: Improve the management and content of government s web presence Priority 4.1: Rationalise investment, procurement and delivery of ICT infrastructure and software.

11 Better Public Services programme The programme challenges government departments to find new ways of working together to deliver better public services to New Zealanders. By reducing procurement time and the need to choose technology solutions, agency staff can focus on their core function: to provide government information online and deliver business outcomes.
