10 What New Skills are Necessary for New Banner Self-Service? Familiarity with deploying Java EE applications to Oracle Application Server Similar deployment to Banner Workflow, Banner Relationship Management, Banner Travel and Expense, Banner Effort Reporting and Labor Redistribution For additional usability enhancements, jquery is now included in WebTailor Not required skill, but potentially beneficial to web developers who want to modify the user interface Banner Self-Service pages do not change. Custom modifications should inherit the new look and feel Custom modifications can continue to be made in PL/SQL without any additional JavaScript (jquery) knowledge October 30,

13 Questions With the delivery of the new Banner Self Service in the 8.3 release, is it possible to do one of the following? Not install the new self service and keep the old self service Banner Self-Service 8.3 release is an optional release. Install the new self service but carry on using the old self service The Banner Self-Service 8.3 release will contain a new WebTailor parameter that will allow the new UI to be turned on and off. 14 Questions What is the timeframe for professional services to be offering training in the new technologies? We are expecting services to be available from our services organization in first quarter These services will focus primarily on developing and maintaining Adobe Flex applications. For Banner Self-Service, there is little new from a technology perspective being introduced. For visual modifications changes, someone knowledgeable about cascading style sheets (CSS) will be required. October 30,

15 Questions What are the licence implications for implementing these new technologies, with the need to port our own applications over to these new technologies? For Banner Self-Service there are no licensing implications and no real need to port applications because the enhancement was done to WebTailor to ensure limited impact if any. October 30,

Upcoming enhancement to Banner Self-Service will leverage 3 Java based web applications that require Java 5.
