2 Corporate Profile overview Champ Hospitality, LP is a full service hospitality development and consulting company utilizing the extensive experience of our principals in all facets of hotel and resort development, branding and management. Unlike most professional services companies, we are experienced in working with our clients from the earliest stages of planning through operation of a project insuring a seamless process with the ultimate goal being to maximize project returns. Champ has established strategic relationships with a number of hospitality related companies that can be called upon to provide services through Champ Hospitality providing our clients with a single point of contact and accountability. In 2008 and 2009, Champ Hospitality completed over $80 million in hotel development projects on time and on budget in a turbulent time in the construction and finance industries. The company has an additional $80 million in construction and design for Champ Hospitality is an international company. Our recent business assignments have taken us to Central America, Africa, Europe, and Asia so we are familiar with the challenges and opportunities of a global business environment. Champ Hospitality has extensive experience with most major brands and operators. Joe Champ has participated in the development or operation/ asset management of numerous upscale and midscale brands including the St. Regis, Westin, W Hotels, Sheraton, Le Méridien, W aloft, Westin Element, Four Points by Sheraton, Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton, Doubletree, Wyndham, Grand Bay, Golden Door Spa, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Clarion, Comfort Inn, Cambria Suites and various upscale independent properties. Unlike most hospitality consulting companies, we are owners and have been managers of hotels as well. This experience in all phases of development and operations provides continuity and a one-stop turnkey solution to take a project from feasibility to operations. Charles Maas and Joe Champ, the company s two principals, have experience in site selection, feasibility, project management, brand and operator selection, and operations. We have close working relationships with many U.S. based international brands and can identify the brands and operators that will maximize returns to ownership. 4 KEY EXECUTIVES JOSEPH H. CHAMP PRESIDENT Joseph H. Champ has over 25 years experience in the hospitality business. Champ has been a frequent speaker at hospitality industry events and is considered an expert in the areas of hotel franchising, management contracts, hotel branding and development. Prior to forming Champ Hospitality, Mr. Champ was Executive Vice President Development/Chief Investment Officer for Wyndham International Inc. He was responsible for Wyndham s growth through acquisitions, development, joint ventures, management, and franchise contracts. During his tenure, the company originated $2.2 billion of asset sales. He managed Wyndham s real estate development and joint venture projects, including significant real estate holdings in Puerto Rico, Arizona and California. Champ also managed Wyndham s timeshare joint venture with Tempus Resorts. Prior to joining Wyndham, Champ was Senior Vice President for Acquisitions and Development for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide overseeing portions of North American, Caribbean and Canadian development as well as franchise sales for all of Starwood s brands. Champ joined Starwood from Westin Hotels and Resorts where he was responsible for North American Development. While at Westin and Starwood, Champ oversaw the development of a number of Starwood s notable North American Westin Resorts and Hotels. Champ is a graduate of Middlebury College and the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He resides in Dallas with his family and is active in the community and enjoys history, running and endurance sports. CHARLES J. MAAS VICE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT Charles J. Maas is Vice President, Development and Acquisitions for Champ Hospitality. Maas is also a principal of CME Enterprises LLC, (CME) a Colorado company that specializes in hospitality development and consulting. CME currently is involved in Costa Rican and Hawaiian developments. Maas has been involved in national and international hotel development for over 20 years. Prior to forming CME, Maas was a principal of the International Hotel Group (IHG) in Denver where he worked on projects in France, the Bahamas and the United States. Prior to IHG, Maas held positions in marketing, sales, acquisitions and development at Associated Inns and Restaurant Company of America (AIRCOA), currently Richfield Hospitality Management, the largest independent hotel management company in the United States at that time. While at AIRCOA, he supervised hotels ranging in size from 45 to 1,000 rooms as well as international development projects of up to 800 acres. Prior to joining AIRCOA, Maas was Vice President of Marketing for Vail Associates and an integral part of Vail s new mountain resort at Beaver Creek at the time it opened. Maas is a graduate of Metropolitan State College with a BA in Fine Arts and served as an aviation photographer in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. 4 COMPANY OVERVIEW
