2 WHY #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO? LATINOS WELCOME OUR POPE, FRANCISCO The numbers are in and it seems everybody loves Francis. The spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics, Pope Francis enjoys broad support across much of the world, according to a survey report by the Pew Research Center. His love of Christ and God s children, his compassion, and spirituality are inspiring and re-energizing people worldwide. As the Papal visit quickly approaches, more and more of us are turning to the Internet and social media to connect, participate, rejoice, and renew our spirit with Pope Francis. The goal of this campaign to to connect Hispanics, especially those who cannot see Papa Francisco in person, with the visit of our Holy Father. #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO

3 WHY #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO? GIVING LATINOS A VOICE AND OPPORTUNITY TO SEND A MESSAGE TO PAPA FRANCISO The welcome campaign seeks to give Hispanics a voice and connection to Pope Francis' visit. As a result, National Hispanics Catholic organizations launched #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO to officially embrace Our Pope during his upcoming visit to the United States of America. The mission is to reach every parish, every community, every home with our message of love and welcome for Papa Francisco. The welcome campaign is launched online and in social media. It includes an official Bienvenido Papa Francisco website with reflection, prayer, and a song created by Pedro Rubalcava of Oregon Catholic Press. The website will publish images and videos welcoming Pope Francis from the heart of the Latino community and Church. Bienvenido Papa Francisco posters and prayer cards will be distributed in all the dioceses. #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO

4 #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO CAMPAIGN GOALS 1. Offer Hispanic Catholics an opportunity to provide a welcome, un abrazo al Papa Francisco, and to participate in the joy over his visit. 2. Create avenues of participation in the papal visit for the great number of Hispanic Catholics unable to travel to New York, Philadelphia, or Washington. 3. Generate a contribution for the most vulnerable in the community. 4. Inform the U.S. Church about the identity and characteristics of the Hispanic Catholic Community.. #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO

The idea for this campaign came to life in February 2015 at the Southeast Pastoral Institute during a working retreat of board members from the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry (ncchm.org), National Catholic Association of Diocesan Directors of Hispanic Ministry (ncaddhm.org), La RED National Catholic Network de Pastoral Juvenil Hispana (laredpjh.org), Federation of Pastoral Institutes (fipusa.org), Asociación Nacional de Diáconos Hispanos (andhusa.org), SEPI (sepi.us) and a representative from the USCCB Subcommittee of Hispanic Affairs (usccb.org).

6 #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO JOIN US IN WELCOMING POPE FRANCIS! After four months of intense work, we are finally really to launch #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO, whose seeds were planted at SEPI. We invite you to join us as we welcome the first Latino Pope from every diocese, parish, community, and every home in the country; and as we take the opportunity of Pope Francis visit to evangelize, share our faith, contribute to those in need, and continue supporting Hispanic ministry on a national level. Your generous contribution will bring the joy of Pope Francis visit and message to as many people as possible. With your help we hope to reach every parish to connect millions of faithful with the Papal Visit.

7 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES This Bienvenido Papa Francisco campaign requires funding. The organizations involved in this welcome campaign have planted the seeds needed to create and launch this national campaign that seeks to bring a voice and the participation of Hispanics in the papal visit, but we need your support and contributions. We have created several partnership opportunities. We invite you to join us! #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO

8 WELCOME PACKAGE ONE Contributions of $3,000 will appear as a campaign sponsor in the following: Organization's name, logo and weblink will appear on the homepage for 12 months. (The site will be used to promote Pastoral de Conjunto in other events after the papal visit, such as World Youth Day 2016.) The site is estimated to have to 60,000 visitors per month. Sponsor Organization's name will appear in 50,000 Bienvenido Papa Francisco posters to be distributed to every diocese in the U.S. Organization will also be included and promoted on social media as a partner. The organization will appear in the press releases as partners, promotional materials, events, etc. #BIENVENIDOPAPAFRANCISCO

9 WELCOME PACKAGE TWO Contributions of $1,000 or higher will appear as a campaign sponsor in the following: Organization's name, logo and weblink will appear on the homepage as a sponsor for 12 months.
