1 What s New in Doc-To-Help Doc-To-Help now features a powerful new Responsive NetHelp Theme, and Widgets that you can use to add interactivity, enhanced display of images and other content, and alternate navigation to your Targets. Responsive NetHelp Theme The New Responsive NetHelp Theme adapts to the current window size/screen resolution and is especially designed to work seamlessly on desktops as well as smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. The full size desktop view is pictured above.

2 As the window size shrinks, the Side panel will hide automatically so that only the topic is displayed, and visual elements such as breadcrumbs, buttons, and related topics will change their appearance and size. This new Theme also includes a Favorites tab that allows end users to "favorite" topics (the favorite is stored on the user side). This Theme works on Android 4.0 or later and ios; on the desktop, IE8 or later. The Responsive Theme is based on jquerymobile 1.3.2

3 Widgets There are now seven widgets you can use to improve your Targets and your efficiency. They are: Lightbox, Gallery, Carousel, TopicContents, CodeHighlighter, Tabs, and Note. These Widgets are available only in the built-in HTML5 Content Editor. All the Widgets have full interactivity in NetHelp and Eclipse Help, but interactivity (and display) varies in other Targets. LightBox With the LightBox widget, you can display an image (or other external content) in a pop-up interface. Your image will display as a thumbnail the user can click on to display the larger image. A caption and comment text can be added. Gallery The Gallery widget displays a set of images with their thumbnails below. The user can select the thumbnail images (or use the forward or back buttons) and the larger images will be displayed with transition effects.

4 Carousel The Carousel widget displays a set of images dynamically. The images will rotate automatically, or the user can select the forward or back buttons (or the Pager buttons) and the next image will be displayed with transition effects. Note Using the Note widget is a great way to draw attention to a Tip, Note, or Warning message. The Widget will display the content in a frame, with an icon on the left. A custom image can be substituted for the default icon. Tabs The Tabs widget is used to break content into multiple tabbed sections that can be swapped to save screen real estate. It is ideal for code samples you can display the same sample in different languages in a compact space.

5 Topic Contents The Topic Contents widget displays the headers inside the current document. (It resembles the navigation menu in many wikis.) The headers displayed in the widget are the H1 H6 and MidTopic styles (you can change this by using widget customization). Code Highlighter The Code Highlighter widget is a frame for adding syntax highlighting to programming code (usually a code sample).

6 HTML5 Content Editor Doc-To-Help s new HTML5 Content Editor automatically creates and validates HTML5 content as you work. The interface is similar to Microsoft Word, so it is easy to learn but it still has powerful features such as IntelliSense, outlining, document formatting, and more. This editor replaces the built-in XHTML editor in Doc-To-Help. If you have projects that include XHTML documents, Doc-To- Help will upgrade them. Reviewer Commenting You can now allow reviewers to leave comments (or insert your own) in the builtin HTML5 Content Editor. This new feature works much like Google Docs or Microsoft Word and will help your team track comments, or simply leave notes and reminders. Visual Undo The new HTML5 Content Editor also features a visual undo feature, so you can choose the point you d like to roll back to from a drop-down list.

7 Other Improvements There are several other enhancements in this release that both save you time and improve your outputs: Theme Designer The NetHelp Theme Designer now includes the option to include Twitter and Facebook buttons in the Tabs and Accordion Themes. These buttons are also options in the Responsive Theme. The Favorite Icon setting lets you specify what icon appears in the browser when your users mark your NetHelp a Favorite. In all Themes, there is now a text width setting that lets you manually set the width of the text in the topic window. By default, it is set to 0, which means the text will adjust to fill the window. Output Enhancements Manuals When you choose to build a Manual, the.doc/.docx, as well as the PDF versions will now be generated at the same time by default. If you want to turn this off, just clear the generate PDF target check box in the Help Targets dialog box. Online Help If working in Word, the Heading 4 and Heading 5 styles are automatically set to the Procedural Topic Type, which means that in online Help outputs, those topics would automatically open in a separate

8 window. The Procedural Topic Type is now set by default to open in the Main window type instead of the Proc window type. The Proc window was created so that Procedural (numbered step) topics would open in a separate window. This is no longer a best practice, so we made this change V1
