Outdoors Agility Ring 100 ft x 100 ft Entries open: May 28, :00 pm Entries close: July 18, :00 pm The Trial entries will close when the limits are reached or on the closing date, whichever comes first. No entries will be accepted, altered, cancelled or substituted after the official closing date and time, except as provided in the rules. These events are held under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club. On-line entries at Performance Dogs Canada. For information: Directions to The Red Barn Event Centre: From the 400: Take the Essa Road exit. Turn west on Essa (sign says Essa Road South). Turn right at Ardagh Road. Follow Ardagh to County Road 27. Go South on County Road 27(aka Town Line Road). Property is on the west side of the road down a long driveway. There is a private residence at the front of the property. From CR 27 South: Follow CR 27 northbound through Thorton. Continue north. After 5 minutes, look for signs on your right that show you have to turn LEFT to stay on CR 27. When you see that sign, turn left, continue on CR 27. When you come down the big hill look for our white flags on the west (left) side of the road. If you get to lights at Ardagh, you ve gone too far. HELP WANTED FOR AGILITY TRIALS Without the help from volunteers, we could not host these trials. We cannot do it alone! We need your help to make our trial a success. PLEASE sign up to work. Job Descriptions Gate Steward: Makes sure exhibitors are at the gate in the correct order and ready to run. Ring Steward: Sets bars to correct positions prior to each jump height in a class. Resets dropped bars, straightens chute. Leash Runner: Takes exhibitor s leash from start line and places it at finish. Scribe: Marks faults on scribe sheet as called by the judge. Timer: Times the dogs runs using electronic timing. Course Builder: Assists the Chief Course Builder with putting obstacles in the correct position as indicated by the judge. 3 More Specialty Events Friday, July 27th, 2012 starts off with WC/I/X Retrieving Tests at The Scott Farm north east of Barrie. There are good areas to watch the dogs retrieving and doing what they love best. There will be a cold lunch and a raffle. These tests are for all dog breeds eligible to enter under CKC Working Certificate Test rules. Go to for details and entry form. Saturday, July 28th, starts off with Obedience, Rally O and Agility with fun games beginning in the afternoon followed by a BBQ and presentation for the Versatility Toller Award. Sunday, July 29th, 2012 starts off with Sweepstakes judging followed by the Junior Handling competition, then the Toller Specialty with prizes and trophies awarded from puppy classes to Veterans and on up to the Best of Breed Specialty winner. 4 General Information Entry Eligibility Bitches in Season Food Concession Motels/ Hotels Camping Trial Chair, Secretary & Superintendent are in full charge of the Trials. The show precincts shall consist of the entire obedience/rally building & agility field.food and toys are not permitted in any of the rings, no one is permitted to bench or use whistles, clickers, flexis or other instruments or devices in the rings. For obedience, food and toys are not allowed within 10 feet of the ring. Bitches in season are also NOT permitted in performance area. Dogs must be ON LEASH at all times except in the rings. PLEASE STOOP TO SCOOP! To be eligible to compete in the obedience or rally trials, a dog must be 6 months of age and for agility 18 months of age. All entered dogs must be registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN or CKC Miscellaneous Certificate or Performance Event Number (PEN) Spayed bitches, debarked dogs, and neutered males are eligible to participate. Bitches in season may not compete. When a bitch comes into season after the entry has closed a Veterinarian s certificate certifying the bitch was in season within the 10 day period preceding the trial must reach the secretary on or before the start of the trial. A full refund of entry fees and listing fees will be given. Tip and Sip Café will be open at the Red Barn Event Centre for these trials. It has a selection of beverages, snacks, and lunch items. A qualifying ribbon and a prize for all dogs that earn a qualifying score. High in Trial will also receive a rosette and a prize. (Pre-Novice, Novice C, Novice Intermediate and Veterans are not eligible for HIT). Jr. Obedience Handlers with qualifying scores will receive a rosette and a prize for 1 st through 4 th placement in all classes Best Overall in Junior Obedience will receive a Rosette and a Prize. (Pre-Novice is not eligible for Best Overall). Rally Obedience: A rosette and a prize for 1st and rosettes for 2nd through 4th place dogs with a qualifying score in all classes. A qualifying ribbon and a prize for all dogs that earn a qualifying score. Agility: A qualifying ribbon and a prize for all dogs that earn a qualifying score. Rosettes for 1st through 4th placing dogs with a qualifying score in all classes. A rosette and prize will be offered to the highest scoring Toller in Regular, Selected and Veterans Standard at the Novice (combined A&B) Intermediate and Excellent (combined A&B) level by combining scores from both trials. A rosette and prize will be offered to the highest scoring Toller in Regular, Selected, Veterans JWW at the Novice (combined A&B), Intermediate and Excellent (combined A&B) level by combining scores from both trials. New Title Rosettes All Junior participants will receive a Medallion. Versatility Toller Award On completion of Saturday s events a special trophy will be awarded to the Toller earning the most points in all performance events including field. This Award is to highlight the versatility of our Tollers and to encourage owners to have fun and interact with their dogs. For details go to On-line entries at: Visa or Mastercard required. *Effective for all PDC trials held after August 1st, 2011, exhibitors entering online will be charged an annual $10 online processing fee to set up the online account.* See PDC website for more information regarding on-line entries Non Member Participation Fee $ HST A non member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC. The non member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. In order for the title to be awarded, the non member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level.

5 Obedience Classes: (Although adapted from the CKC Obedience Rules and Regulations, this list is a summary which is not meant to replace reading of the CKC Obedience Rules & Regulations) Regular & Transition Classes Novice A only 1 dog per handler in this class. Handler must be owner, co-owner or immediate family. This class is not for handlers that have attained a CDX on any dog. Novice B for handlers or dogs who do meet requirements for Novice A, however dogs who have attained a CD must move to Novice C. Novice C - This class is for dogs that have attained the Companion Dog or ANY other obedience title. (Not included in HIT) Novice Intermediate- for any dogs which have earned the title of Companion Dog, Companion Excellent, Utility or any Obedience Trial Championship. (Not eligible for HIT) Veterans- Shall be for any dog that has earned the title of CD or higher and is 7 years old or older on the day of the trial. (Not eligible for HIT) Open A & B- please see NEW Rules and Regulations Utility A & B please see NEW Rules and Regulations Pre-Novice for dogs that have not earned a CD title in any country. (Not included in HIT) Exhibition Only an official class for dogs NOT entered in a regular class, however dogs in non-regular classes or dogs that are not exhibiting at the trials MUST be entered in this class. Rally Obedience Classes: (Although adapted from the CKC Rally Obedience Rules and Regulations, this list is a summary which is not meant to replace reading of the CKC Obedience Rules & Regulations) Novice A Dogs competing in this class may not have won a CKC Rally nor Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC CDX or instructed dog training classes is eligible for this class. The handler must own, co-own or be an immediate member of the dog owner s family. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Once official notice of achieving this title is received by the CKC, a dog MUST move to either Novice B or Advanced A. Novice B for handlers or dogs who do meet requirements for Novice A. Dogs may compete in this class until they earn a Rally Advanced leg. Advanced A & Excellent A - Dogs/owners that were eligible to compete in Novice A continue in the A level classes until they achieve their Rally Excellent title. Advanced B & Excellent B - Dog/owners that competed in Novice B continue in B level classes. A dog may continue to compete in the Excellent B class indefinitely. Exhibition Only an official class for dogs NOT entered in a regular class, however dogs in nonregular classes or dogs that are not exhibiting at the trials MUST be entered in this class. Agility Classes: Selected Class: Any dog eligible to enter an agility trial may enter the Selected Class but cannot be entered in the Selected Class and Regular Class at the same set of trials. Dogs entering the Selected Class must progress through the various levels beginning with the Novice level. When entering this class, your dog will jump one jump height lower then its Regular jump height and this class will get 10% more time than the Regular Standard course time. For full rules on the Selected Class, please refer to the Official CKC Agility rule book. Veterans Class: Any dog over the age of 7 years old is eligible to enter the veterans class. Novice A is for persons and dogs that have never acquired an agility title in any country or with any organization. Novice B is for agility instructors and judges and for dogs that have acquired the Novice title but have not earned a qualifying score in Agility Intermediate; and for persons who have previously exhibited a dog to an agility title in any agility organization. Excellent A is for dogs that have acquired the Intermediate title but have not yet earned the Agility Excellent title in either Standard or JWW. Your catalogue will be waiting for you at the trials. There will be a very limited number of catalogues available for purchase at the trials for $6.00. *Please note this is one catalogue for all 3 events* All fees are payable in Canadian Funds. On-line entries must sign the liability agreement at the trial. Alterations, substitutions or cancellations of any entry after the closing date is prohibited except as noted in this premium list. The ONLY exception is bitches in season. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Verification that your entries have been received will be ed to you prior to the closing date for these trials. PLEASE contact us prior to the closing date if you have not received an ed confirmation from us. Judging schedules will be ed as soon as possible after the closing date and will be available on our website. Tendering of a NSF cheque is considered as non-payment of fees and is punishable by disciplinary action. Any NSF cheque will be subject to a $40.00 service charge.
