2 Girl Scout Patch Introduction and Overview The American Heart Association SE Michigan is working to inspire a new generation of young women who are strong in both mind and body. Together with the Girl Scouts of we have developed this Girl Scout Patch initiative to encourage young girls to learn how they can prevent the future development of heart disease and stroke. About one of three American kids and teens are overweight or obese nearly triple the rate in The American Heart Association provides tools and resources to encourage kids and families to eat healthy and engage in physical activity. Through this Patch program girls will have the opportunity to learn more about healthy eating habits, how to prepare healthy snacks, and how to determine their own family history and risk factors for heart disease.
