8 Our next step is BYOD eclass Bring Your Own Device is a popular and expanding phenomenon in American schools. BYOD refers to technology models where students bring a personally owned device to school for the purpose of learning.

10 What kind of access will students have? Internet access similar to what they have when they log on to a school computer. We have GCPS devices in classrooms. BYOD is simply a method of putting more devices into students hands

13 Network Security? GCPS Network When students login through the GCPS network, the same safeguards are in place that are on our school computers Three tier filter system No student should be accessing Internet via a personal data plan.

24 Final Thoughts We are all learning together BYOD is not something that will happen everyday and every classroom (at least not right away) teachers will use it when it serves a purpose. Please be patient as the teachers learn how to best implement devices using BYOD. Every teacher will look different in terms of their use of BYOD.
