1 Welcome! Switching to The Village Bank is as easy as 1-2-3! 1. Change Your Direct Deposits For payroll direct deposit, fill out the enclosed Direct Deposit Request form and provide it to your employer s payroll office. You also may need to attach a voided check or deposit slip. For Social Security direct deposit, call the Social Security Administration at (800) and tell them to switch your direct deposit to The Village Bank. Give them your new account number and The Village Bank s routing number: Change Your Automatic Payments Fill out the enclosed Automatic Payment Request form and provide it to any organization you ve authorized to take automatic payments or transfers from your account. You also may need to attach a voided check or deposit slip. The Account Inventory Checklist provided can be used to record important information regarding your direct deposit and automatic payments or transfers. 3. Close Your Old Account Fill out the enclosed Account Closing Request form and provide it to your former bank or credit union to close your account and request a check for the remaining balance in your account(s) with that institution. Remember to do so only when you re sure all of your checks have cleared and your direct deposit and automatic payments/transfers have been changed. Then, destroy your old checks and ATM/debit card.
