2 WATERFORD Waterford City is located in the South East of Ireland and is easily reached by road, rail, sea or air. By Road From Dublin: Waterford City is less than two hours drive from Dublin, take the N7/N9 to the West of Dublin City (M50), and follow the M9/N9 motorway to Waterford. As you approach Waterford City, cross the bridge and turn left along the South Quay (N25). From Cork: Waterford City is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Cork. When leaving Cork, take the N25 through Midleton, Youghal Bypass, Dungarvan and Waterford City. When you reach Waterford City continue on the (N25) and you will come to South Quay. From Rosslare: Waterford City is approximately 1 hour drive from Rosslare. When leaving Rosslare, take the N25 for Wexford, New Ross and Waterford City. As you approach Wateford City, cross the bridge and turn left along the Quay (N25). Information on train times and fares can be obtained by telephoning (for calls outside the republic of Ireland ) between Monday to Friday & Saturday or by visiting By Sea Rosslare Ferryport is 75km from Waterford and the quayside. Irish Ferries offer the following destinations from Rosslare, Pembroke in Wales, Cherbourg and Rosscoff in France. Information on sailing times and fares can be obtained by telephoning , Monday to Friday and Saturday By Air Waterford Aiport Waterford Airport is situated just 20mins from Waterford city centre and quayside There are regular flights to and from London Luton airport, Birmingham airport and Manchester airport, from where many international airports can be reached directly. Dublin Airport Dublin Airport is approximately two hours drive by motorway from Waterford City. The airport is conveniently located approximately 10 km north of Dublin city centre. It is served by a large number of buses, coaches and taxis all allowing you to get to and from the airport with ease. Dublin Airport provides services to 27 airports in the UK and a European network covering over 100 airports. Cork Airport Cork Airport is approximately 1 hour and 30minutes drive from Waterford City. The airport is located just 8 kms from Cork City Centre. Cork Airport provides services to 14 airports in the UK and a European network covering over 17 airports.

3 GREENOCK Greenock is well served by excellent road, rail and air transport links. By Road From England the main road north (west) is the M74 / A74 (M) which joins the M8 on the outskirts of Glasgow. The M1/ A1(M) is the main road north (east ) from England- turn left on to A66 at Scotch Corner and join M6 (north) at Penrith. From Glasgow the M8 provides a fast link to Greenock. The motorway link ends at Langbank and continues as a dual carriageway (A8) to Greenock. Greenock is 35 minutes from Glasgow city centre By Rail There is a regular rail service between London (London Euston or London King s Cross) and Glasgow Central Station. Greenock is served by FirstScotrail service from Glasgow Central Station destination Gourock. Services are frequent every half hour. Alight at Bogston station for the Tall Ships site. By Air Glasgow International Airport and Glasgow Prestwick airport are within easy travelling distance of Greenock. Glasgow International is 20 minutes from Greenock and Glasgow Prestwick is 50 minutes. Both Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick airports handle flights from UK and European airports. Glasgow International Airport has daily flights to many European destinations as well as USA, Canada and Dubai. Transport from Glasgow Prestwick Airport Rail: Prestwick is served by its own railway station. All passengers travelling to / from the airport receive half price rail travel. Ferry terminals within travelling distance to the site include Troon, Cairnryan, Stranraer, Aberdeen and Rosyth. Newcastle is approximately 180 miles from Greenock but there are good road links to Greenock. 4 LERWICK A crossroads in the north-east Atlantic, Shetland is easily accessible from mainland Scotland by sea or air. The main crew transfer date is Friday 22nd July and special fares by sea and air are available for crew travel during the event. Please visit for full travel details and please ensure you book crew travel early as there is a high demand for visitor travel to Shetland during the event period, and places are available on a first come first served basis. How to get to Lerwick by plane (Sumburgh Airport) Flybe franchise carrier Loganair will be offering additional flights at special fares detailed on to and from Shetland on 21st, 22nd and 23rd July operating out of Sumburgh Airport. Flybe operates several daily services to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow and also offers Shetland s only direct international service, to Bergen, for which extra flights will be laid on to meet the key crew change date of 22nd July. Flights into regional airports on the Scottish mainland connect with numerous UK and European destinations. Transfers between Sumburgh Airport and Lerwick will be available during the crew transfer dates. How to get to Lerwick by ferry The main crew transfer date is Friday 22nd July, and day-sails will be available with Northlink Ferries in both directions between Lerwick and Aberdeen, in addition to their regular overnight services between these ports. This will give crews the opportunity to travel as foot passengers for 25 single fare without the need for cabin accommodation. The passenger ferries have the capacity to carry 600 passengers. The ship offers a wide range of facilities, including both self-service and a la carte restaurants, lounge and bar areas, cinema lounges, children s play areas and games rooms. Visit for information on fares and how to book your passage. Aberdeen Airport is only seven miles from the ferry terminal with regular services to and from major British and European cities. There are regular trains and bus services operated by First and Citylink to/from Aberdeen. The Lerwick Ferry Terminal is located next to one of the main Tall Ships berthing areas. At ferry arrival, shuttle buses will be available to transfer crew to other Tall Ship berthing areas.

5 STAVANGER How to get to Stavanger Stavanger is situated in the southwest part of Norway in a region called Rogaland. Stavanger is easy to get to from the rest of Norway, Scandinavia and Europe by means of plane, train, coach ferry or car. 6 HALMSTAD How to get to Halmstad Halmstad is strategically located in the middle of the west coast. The E6 from Copenhagen/Malmö to Göteborg/Oslo passes just outside the town. The West Coast line, with high-speed X2000 trains and Öresund trains, goes through the town. Halmstad City Airport is just 10 minutes from the centre. Whether you choose to travel by bus, car, train, boat or plane, you will easily reach the centre of Halmstad. Several bus companies, airlines and train companies travel to Halmstad.
