1 Advertise Bill Me Later financing on your ebay store Thanks for your interest in displaying Bill Me Later banner ads on your ebay store. These ads let your customers know that they can take advantage of 6 months financing on qualifying purchases of $99 or more when they check out with PayPal and choose Bill Me Later. There s no added cost to you for this service, beyond what you already pay for PayPal payment processing. To take advantage of the 6-month financing offer, your customers simply check out with PayPal and select Bill Me Later as their funding method (subject to credit approval*). Bill Me Later can be used for most purchases on ebay except in the following categories: adult, digital goods, weapons, alcohol, and vehicles (Bill Me Later is available for parts and accessories). Please don t add financing banners to pages in the excluded categories. How to Put Financing Banner Ads on your ebay Store To get started, you will need an ebay storefront and basic knowledge of how to set up your pages. This process will take approximately minutes to complete. You have three options for placing the ads: 1. You can create a Promotion Box a graphic display you can use to highlight the financing offer. This is the simplest method. 2. Create a Custom Page Layout using one of the free templates provided by ebay. 3. Create a Custom HTML Header that appears at the top of all of your store pages. Whichever option you choose, remember that location is everything when it comes to advertising financing on your store. When your customers know they have financing options early in the shopping experience, they re more likely to spend more. We recommend placing banner ads above the fold on your storefront pages. * Bill Me Later is subject to credit approval as determined by the Lender, WebBank, Salt Lake City, Utah, and is available to US customers who are of legal age in their state of residence. Bill Me Later is not available in PayPal mobile checkout. 1

2 Option 1: Create a Promotion Box 1 Step 1: Visit Click the blue Get started button. If you have a PayPal account, you can sign in using the same address and password you would normally use for PayPal. Step 1 2 Step 2: Read the Operating Rules Read our Operating Rules and select I Agree and Continue. You will only need to do this the first time you log in. Step 2 3 Step 3: Select the ebay Store option Once you accept the Operating Agreement, you will be redirected to the PayPal Ad Builder. Select the ebay Store option to choose banner ads for your storefront. Step 3 4 Step 4: Select your ad size Select the ad size you would like to use on your ebay site. Place your mouse over the eye icons to view the banner dimensions, and then click on the size that works best for your ebay site. Step 4 2

3 5 Step 5: Copy the code Highlight the code for the ad you chose by clicking the Select all button. Next, copy the code by right clicking on your mouse and choosing the copy command or using the keyboard shortcut (control C for PC; command C for Mac). Do not modify any of the code or your banners will not display properly. Step 5 6 Step 6: Click Promotion Boxes Log in to your ebay account and open your ebay storefront. Click Promotion Boxes under Store Management on the left. Step 6 7 Step 7: Create a new promotion box Click Create new promotion box. You can also edit an existing box by clicking edit in the actions dropdown next to the existing promotion box listed. Step 7 8 Step 8: Choose Promotion box type Select the option for Communicate to your buyers. Step 8 3

4 9 Step 9: Select Promotion box location Select the location for your promotion box and the pages where you want it to appear. Step 9 10 Step 10: Select information type Under information type, select custom. This will switch to the HTML builder. Step Step 11: Paste the code Paste the code you copied from the PayPal Ad Builder into the HTML builder box by right clicking on your mouse and choosing the paste command or using the keyboard shortcut (control P for PC; command P for Mac). Click the save button. Step 11 NOTE: The screen shot above shows sample code pasted into the HTML Builder. This is only sample code; please use the actual code that you copy from the PayPal Ad Builder as the code differs for each business. 12 Step 12: Preview and publish your page Preview your page and if you are satisfied with how your banner displays, click the Save and Publish button. Repeat this process to add additional financing banner ads to your store pages. You ll need to select the appropriate code from the PayPal Ad Builder for each banner ad size you d like to use. 5 Option 2: Create a Custom Page Layout This method also uses promotion boxes, but allows you to customize your page layout. Please follow steps 1-5 above to obtain banner ad code for your ebay storefront. 6 Step 6: Click Custom Pages Log in to your ebay account and open your ebay storefront. Click Custom Pages under Store Management on the left. Step 6 7 Step 7: Create a new page Click the link to Create new page. Step 7 8 Step 8: Select your preferred layout Select your preferred layout and click the Continue button. Step 8 9 Step 9: Name your page Enter a page title under the Text Section for your desired placement. Step 9 5

6 10 Step 10: Paste the code Paste the code you copied from the PayPal Ad Builder into the HTML builder box by right clicking on your mouse and choosing the paste command or using the keyboard shortcut (control P for PC; command P for Mac). Click the save button. Step Step 11: Complete questions Complete the additional questions and then click the Continue button.
