6 Management of IPR owned by TKK Intellectual property belongs to TKK if: - research is externally funded, or - a voluntary transfer agreement is made between the innovator and TKK. OIIC is responsible for protection and marketing of IP owned by TKK External services are used in patenting and marketing

8 IP strategy of TKK Researchers shall be acknowledged as inventors This sets an obligation also to industry Bonus will be paid mainly to inventors and to their laboratories ( %) University will charge a smaller bonus and the real costs of protection, marketing etc. (20 %) Copyright TKK/OIIC 8
9 Licensing Innovations made in externally funded projects are preferably transferred to the collaborating companies for patenting TKK has a selectively built patent portfolio It is important to secure possibilities for further research exclusive rights to core knowledge must not be sold away Marketing in Finland: InnoStorm project very succesful International marketing: TULI, Licentia, Toudai TLO, direct contacting, etc.
