1 INTRODUCTION You Think: Of course I do not need to start with learning for my exams. I still have a few days left. I cannot concentrate in the library and my friends are going to a terrace in 1 hour. By the way, first I have to decide with which exam I will start. Oke, my plan today is to decide with which one I have to start and make a planning. Oh, I always have a re-exam, so first I will check my Facebook. I do not have to start. I have plenty of time! First I have to check my and my Facebook, then I will start. I always have a re-exam. It does not matter how you look at it, but without a doubt this e-book will be an eye-opener for you. This is not a book to learn, but a start to give you some ideas. The goal of this book is to offer some help to students who have difficulty with studying. This e-book is written with a helicopter view of different important subjects. TentamenHULP.nl could help you with studying! TentamenHULP.nl can ensure you that you will get the best out of you and get the highest grate you can get. There are plenty of tips in this e-book that can help you with your study. 1.1 The base Before you start with studying there are some basics of studying. Both intern as extern factors influence you on your study behaviour. Below the subjects mind set, body and environment will be treated. 1.2 The mind set It is just too much and I do not want to learn it. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 2

Positivity One of the greatest hazards is negativity. When you think that you are not able to do something, the chance that it will happen is bigger. It does work vice versa. So promise yourself to change negative thought in positive ones. You could start late with studying, but when you do nothing, nothing will happen. So your belief helps! Make sure you will get a positive attitude. If you do a bit or a lot on a day: every day will help you. What does it matter, it is already too late! Objectives In reality it is very hard to study on a targeted manner. There are always less fun stuff to learn, or worse; you have to learn it 100 times before you get it! Laziness is the biggest hazard. You get tired of learning and you do not want to go further. The short-term solution is to stop learning. But at the same time you know, if you stop you will feel much more lazy. Without going further into the subject: the short-term solution is not the right solution. Write your targets down for one year and for one semester. Make a clear plan with a review of all the study- and other activities and make your own priorities. Write down how much time you have and calculate the time that you will need per activity. After that make a realistic time plan. Start at the time that you agreed with yourself. Realize that you probably do not want to tomorrow too, so start with you assignment of that moment. Now you have to write your goals for this year, this semester and this month. 5 1.3 Your body Psychic health A little bit of stress could be psychic healthy, but there is a turning point. So make sure that that you are the boss of your own stress. Try to relax and talk about problems that bother you. Try to inventory what you can do and what you cannot do. Stress and worrying takes a lot of time and energy! This is unfortunate. A lot of stress exist because of negativity like: I cannot do it or because expectations which are to high like: I want to succeed Cum Laude. Physical health When you live unhealthy is hard to achieve something. A bad health is often due to a lack of self-discipline. The most important causes are unhealthy food, no physical exercise and wrong thinking habits (negative thought and feelings). Students often eat unhealthy. You probably do not want to cook, you probably eat in front of the tv and it is a fact that unhealthy food is a lot cheaper. Fruit end vegetables are a lot more expensive than chips, hamburgers and pizzas. Of course you have some periods that you are to busy and have to eat unhealthy. This is not bad. But try to avoid that this will be a pattern in your life. Physical exercise is important. You will learn better if you train 3 times a week. It is not possible if you want to study for 7 days without exercise. Training gives you energy and positive distraction, after training it is easier to focus on your study. Keep in mind: healthy food, enough physical exercise and a positive mind set will help you to study. 1.4 Your environment Where do you study? Not? At home? In the library? In a cafe? There are a lot of places where you are able to study. Try different environments. It could be effective to change of places occasionally. For example: study at home for a few days, but make sure that you are not going crazy. There are people who want to be alone for a few days, but if this is not the case try to go to the library. This way you will have some social contact. Students who study in public areas has a high degree of information exchange (for example practice exams). This way you will be more up to date, but try to avoid that it will be to cosy. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 4

It is very cosy in the library, but sometimes the breaks takes a little longer. Search for a quiet place in the library. Do not sit on the same place every time, because fallow students want to find you for a chat. Set a timer for yourself, make sure that you will learn the entire time and then take a break. See and be seen Libraries sometimes look like a catwalk during the exam period. Students look for a study place while they are checking boys/girls. You will try to find your friends every 20 minutes of hard working to get a cup of coffee. Avoid to sit in the middle of the library where everyone is passing you, maybe you can bring some earplugs. Contacts are important during your study, right?! Contacts are in many ways important and they may work positive on your study results. But at some point you have prioritise. For some students it is cool to go out if they have an exam or college on the next day, but the chance that they have to learn in the summer (during the re-exams) is slightly bigger. 7 2 LEARN TO LEARN Countless methods are developed about how to study. Many books can be ordered on the Internet: just type the topic in searched engines and you will find thousands of hits. There is a lot to read about it. But to really do it is another. The great advantage of learning is that failure is impossible. It is possible to make mistakes, because you can learn from them. Learning is not the same as preforming. Learning is the satisfaction of your curiosity, gaining knowledge and gaining inside information. 2.1 Memory training Research shows that more than 40% of the information you read, will be forgotten after 20 minutes. After one day even more than 70% will be forgotten. So you will remember les than 30% of the total information. Fortunately, there are always more ways to train your memory. Repetition To remember more than 80%, you have to repeat the information. You will save time because you do not have to repeat all the information again. A good way is to take the information in a fast rate (after you read it slowly ones). When you do this you look globally to the text and will only read a couple of words. This is enough to activate the knowledge in your brain again. Repetition? 3 x extensively or 1 x extensively en 4 x briefly Learning keywords Another way to train your brain is to write down the keywords and to learn these by hard. The result of learning keywords is better than learning full phrases. By repeating too little the gained knowledge will sink, but too much repetition is a waste of time. When you use your time wisely by training your memory, you will have more time left to do other things. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 6

2.2 Creating a Mindmap You will read, hear and see al different kinds of things. This will be recorded in your brain. When you need this information again you have to think. What is mindmapping? Mindmapping is an easy tool to organize the information you gained during the classes. When mindmapping you will create a Mindmap (clear graph) of everything you are thinking of. It will be a map of your thoughts. So you will get the picture. Use different colours, shapes and lines when mindmapping. This is a way how you can point out the connections between the subjects and your right brain will be stimulated. So you will remember the information better. This is an advantage when preparing, learning and repeating for an exam. How to start mindmapping? Place your main subject in the middle of the paper. You can do this with a word or a graphic. Note all the images that come in to your head when thinking of the subject whit a word or graphic all around the main subject and connect these with the main subject by lines. So this will create branches. If your main topic is an association you are able to associate. You can do this to elaborate the branches. The result of mindmapping is a pattern which makes the connections between the subjects visible and you can see where the larges branches are. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 7

For what can I use mindmapping? To make notes of your thoughts and to order them To brainstorm to get ideas for an subject To analyse situations 2.3 Speed reading Speed-reading is really helpful to take information in quickly and to remember it better than reading a text in a normal speed. By reading faster your brain has less time to focus on other subjects. Half your study time Speed reading is easy to learn. It is comparable with fitness. For strong muscles, you will get more heavy weights. When speed reading it is the same. But you will train the muscles of your eyes to take in information faster The faster the better Do not get distracted A lot of people think that speed-reading will come at the expense of the reading comprehension. But the opposite is correct it will enlarge the reading comprehension. It may sound familiar, but during reading a text al different kinds of things will go through your mind. This because your mind can work faster than you can read. This is why you will get distracted during the reading of a text. When you read faster, you brain has less time for any distractions and you will remember the texts better. Help your eyes The basic technique of speed-reading is to guide your eyes. Almost every child does this automatically. They will follow their fingers with their eyes. Unfortunately this is unlearned Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 8

by the teachers. Resulting in a back jump of their eyes to previous words. This will happen partly in their unconsciousness and lows down the tempo of reading. To prevent this you can guide your eyes during speed-reading. The best way to do this is to move your own hand or a highlighter below the text. Do this in one smooth motion. This will be a little bit awkward in the beginning but after a bit of practice your reading tempo will be doubled. 2.4 Time management Not every study day is the same and will be as productive as the next. Sometimes it is a tragedy to even begin and their al different kinds of study avoidance behaviour, who must be checked every 15 minutes. You will mail, check your facebook, horoscope, etc. All easy accessible and time consuming activities. To make sure you will distribute your tasks over the available time, you have to pay attention to the time management. A lot of distractions will tent to mess up the efficiency of your study day. Without time management there will be a day past be fore you know it. Another day past where you could have done more. By scheduling your time, or consciously pay attention to your time management, you can save your self a lot of silly days and so much stress. Tips for time management 1. Blocks Work in blocks of an x number of minutes and only engage yourself with only one task. Take a break afterwards. 2. Prioritise Set priorities. You will never have total control over your time management. So make sure you will do the most important tasks first. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 9

3. Goal Set a Goal. In the first chapter we discussed the formulating of the goals on annual basis, per period and per month. But goals must also be set per day. It will only take a couple of minutes of your time and will increase your efficiency. You have to know the reason why you are going to read something, before you are going to read it. What do you want to know? This way you will read more focused and you will process the information better. Also decide how long it may take. 4. Finish Finish what you started. Doing your work only half is time consuming. If you are doing something, it will be counterproductive when you are doing something else in between. It will take more effort when you have to start over again. Checking your mail between learning is bad for concentration ability and therefor fatal for the productivity. Make a study schedule in the beginning of a busy area. Decide an achievable goal for every day. And stick to the schedule! "I'm not so suitable for timetables" Everyone who wants to get his or her degree has to devote time to studying. Students who do not want to spend their time studying better quit reading this e-book, because That is a waste of time. Every study has a critical threshold and despite of the tall tales of students ( you only browse through the book and look at an old exam ) you better not get this mentality. But the opposite case when you spend to much time on your study activities it may overload your capacity to study. I only work well under pressure With a well put to getter time management it is easier to be productive and study with satisfaction and there will be enough time left to engage in other activities. Time management is the division of time in: Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 10

Division of time for study and other activities Division of time to study over different study activities Time management will be encouraged by: An overview of all activities: What do I have to do? Prioritise: What do I do first? Schedule activities: When do I run the plans? Creating convenient work conditions: What helps me and what does not help me with the execution of my planned activities? I am always on schedule A plan with the study and spare time will help you with the organisation. You will force your self to be precise and concrete when you have to write it down. What does not mean: I am always on schedule. Not because I achieved al my goals but because I constantly reschedule. This is counterproductive of course. Tip Also schedule your free time and buffer hours (when your being disturbed or when you have a bed day, you can move the tasks in your schedule.) When you have a good working day just carry on. This so you will create more free time on other moments. Try to be realistic when looking at your self. When you chose to study less hours yourself it can have negative consequences for your study. There will always be other people who can work faster and others who can do it better, or pretend to be so. There are a lot of braggarts who, in their own words, do not spend a lot time studying but score high results. First, it does not help you and second it is often not true. 13 3 STUDY 3.1 Motivation Motivation is a feeling what makes you start and finish your job. Without motivation it is hard to concentrate or even worse, you cannot concentrate at al. Students, who are more motivated, experience study as more fun and achieve better results. There is a lot to find on the internet about motivation. The disadvantage is the plenty amount of information, this can be demotivating to read. An instant solution does not exist. The reason of being demotivated can be varied. You have no positive expectations about the results, too much unrealizable wishes, the prickle is not great enough etc. It is hard to overtake what makes you so less motivated (except reasons like I do not like it, it is not your day or you are tired etc.) Ask yourself WHY? Try to think serious about the reasons why you are dismotivated and why you have to do what you have to. If you are really unknown about the reasons to do your tasks, why would you do this? Even tasks that look really important can be derived from a really important fact. Intrinsic vs. Eccentric motivation You can be motivated because of several reasons, for instance you like your study or you have a goal to achieve. This is called intrinsic motivation. This type of motivation is initiates out of yourself. A reward out of your study can also be motivating (new clothes, going out etc.). This is called eccentric motivation. During a term of exams it can be fun to introduce a reward system. Besides, it is hard to use this system during a full time of study. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 12

Advises to motivate yourself 1. Just start! Give yourself a moment of 15 minutes to work on your task. If you have started once, it is easier to continue. 2. Find a study partner who is motivated Find someone who can be a co student. This way could help and could motivate you. An important role is the social pressure. If you have to explain to yourself why you have not done your job, it is a lot easier than you have to explain this to an another person. If it is hard to find someone who can be your co student, it is possible to ask someone to keep track on your achievements. This has to be someone who sees you more often (partner, siblings, parents). 3. Divide If the task is large, it is advisable to divide this in smaller tasks. This is a way for making it more structured and it makes you more capable to easily finish your task. If you finish some tasks, you will be more motivated and it will make you more concentrated. 4. Planning The evening before, you can plan the next day. Make a to do list, starting with the most important task (do not make this task list too long). Follow this list to make your day more structured. The paragraphs time management (Chapter 2) and study planning (Chapter 3) will tell you more. In conclusion: You can be as motivated as much for you goals and tasks. But there can be a lot of rumour in your dorm. Another distraction can be that you can have a fight with you boy- or girlfriend, this can all be really demotivating. What is motivating is different per person. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 13

3.2 Concentration Which person does distract you the most? In fact you are your own biggest distraction; you choose your own study room, you decide yourself if you log on to your own Facebook account, or check your , emptying you fridge when you are not hungry etc. Although you act like a hermit, there are still a lot of distractions. Advises for a better concentration 1. Write down all your ideas Write down all your ideas that distract you, this makes it possible for you to think about those ideas on a later time. Give those distractions attention during a spare time. 2. Know when you are not concentrated anymore It is really important to know when you are concentrated and when you are not. If you know the moment when concentration decreases, it is possible to solve the problem and your focus can return. Make yourself work again in a tactic way. 3. Study spot Find a spot that supports the focus on your studying. This is already mentioned, so this will not be repeated. 4. Limit the distraction Remove all the distractions from your life during the moment of study. Turn off your cell Phone! Do not run the share currency on your screen. Do not hold fancy magazines, newspapers or gossips near to you. You know exactly what keeps you from studying. 5. Energy To be more concentrated you need energy. When you are exhausted, it is very hard to concentrate. It is not bad to close your eyes for 10 minutes. If you go to bed for two hours, it means you are exhausted and you need more sleep. What is your personal distraction? Any time you open your homepage on the Internet? Change this one to a more formal one. Add a note to your computer screen were is Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 14

mentioned you have to return to your work. Or walk to the sink every 10 minutes for getting a glass of water, or grab a hand cornflakes. Concluding this: ask yourself what or who distracts you the most. 3.3 Study planning The second chapter in this file, the subject time management has just been treated. This part will tell you a little more about making a plan. I am going to study all Saturday long. Watch out for making a phage planning like: I am going to study all Saturday long. There is a big chance nothing will happen then. Always ask yourself: Question 1: What am I going to do? Question 2: When am I going to do that? Question 3: How do I do that? After giving yourself the answers, make a global time schedule of your days. Plan enough hours in case of delay. You can use this hours for continue your work, what makes you finish easier. On the next page there is an example of a time schedule. Do not mention all the details, but do not make fun of yourself. Are you going to read a book philosophy when you are in bath from 8:30PM-10PM? Or are you going to read and mark all the important stuff? It is depended on what is the goal you want to achieve. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 15

Friday Saturday Sunday Making Math Chapter Breakfast Free! Lecture Making History Student association Reading philosophy Ch Reading Ch. 6 History Sport 3.4 Study books The majority of the study book consists of a lot of pages that are not readable for one afternoon. The content in the book is harder to read than a regular book. It is not advisable to start immediately. Divide the chapters in parts and try to be focused on a few chapters, do not try to learn all in one time. Note!: Try to ask yourself questions like what does this mean?, why is this written?, how.?, When..? etc. This paragraph consist of the next subject: Structure of the book Screening the content Strategies to read and memorize the materials Techniques for study Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 16

Structure of the book First take a look at the structure of the book. In this way it is easier to get a better understanding of the book. Summaries miss a lot of figures, tables and additional information. This makes it harder to understand the structure of the text. When you take a look at the book, emphasize in looking at: Chapter titles Preface Paragraph titles First and last sentences of each paragraph Figures, tables and diagrams Conclusions and summaries Screening the content Each chapter can be read explicit. Before you do that, screen each chapter well on the following key points: Specific facts Definitions Formulas Key words Speeches Note: If you have read the book, be sure you know the meaning all the Italian and Bold words. Strategies to read and memorize all the materials After the phase of orientation on the book, you can ask yourself which strategy fits the best to study the matter. Are you planning to read the book intensively or just globally? To answer those questions, you need to know the several strategies. The next list will provide several ways to handle the materials. Handle in a research way When practising the books in this way, you have to ask yourself specific questions. The curriculum will be read on specific parts to find out Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 17

the answers. The parts that will not provide you with answers will be skipped. This strategy will be used for thesis, literature research etc. Reading in a global way in a high tempo a image will be formed about the structure and content of the text, without reading the whole text. This strategy can be used for repeating the curriculum or when you are in a hurry and you have to read a lot. Students that read all the details, it is useful to use this as making an image. How can the curriculum be read in a global way? First read the first paragraph to get an insight in the chapter and what is important to know. After this you read the last paragraph and find out if there is a summary. Out of this summary you are searching for the used terms and read what is told about it. Intensive study During taking this strategy, not only the headlines are read, but also the details have to be fully known. To study the book intensive takes a lot of time, because a full understanding is mandatory if you pick this strategy. The critical students When reading the text on a critical way, you state criteria that will be tested. When the text is read analyse this and compare it with the opinions you see in yourself and the opinions of others. Study techniques After you have chosen a strategy you have to choose what technique you will use. When you are searching in the text for instance, it can be unnecessary for you to use a study technique. In another strategy it can be useful. We will take a short note on underlining, Marking, making adds and making a summary. It is also possible to read only. Take in mind, when you have to learn your curriculum in two months, you have not such time as know. Underline or mark When you are focused on active study, Underline your text can be a useful tool to bring some structure. Also a summary can be made out of your underlining. When you mark, use a maximum of 3 colours with different focus points (example: key points (Green), details (Yellow), Definitions (Blue)) Making notes can make your study activities much easier. When being not consequent enough, it can also be confusing when you open your book a later time. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 18

Making a summary A summary is formed out of key thoughts and key issues, to make them shorter and in your own words and in an order that makes sense. Making a summary costs a lot of time and is difficult. This invested time will be a reduction on your study time. Note! Get some other summaries from the internet of order those. Continue with making your own summary by underline all the important issues and add some important content that are in the books but not in the summary. You do not have to boil the ocean by yourself. 3.5 Lectures Find out for yourself if following lectures are effective and efficient for understanding the course materials. Are you going because you want it yourself? Or just for the atmosphere? What ever the reason may be, if you are attending just make the most of it. Before the lecture Prepare on focusing on the information Take some time a study the issues globally Take a look at the main line of the courses Take a look at the notes from last lecture During lectures Pay attention during the start and the end of the class. The structure will be mentioned at the start of the class and at the end the essence of the lecture will be mentioned. Make notes: write down short sentences (limit yourself to keywords) Use abbreviations Use lines and arrows to point the relationship between words out Make a separation between an explanation, illustration and example for clarification Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 19

After the lecture Take a look at your notes that evening Note all the main issues in keywords Use those notes when you are studying the books. Compare the essence from the lecture and from the text out of the book. Dare to ask some questions during class! Nobody knows everything. Some students have no problems with this matter, but others want to have answers on all their questions. Write down the questions you have and ask them during the next class. You could do this during your classes, the next consult hour or send him/her an . Try to get answers on your questions yourself before you visit the professor. If you do not ask questions, you will not get an answer to your questions. You need to dare and ask questions. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 20

4 EXAMS 4.1 Preparation Of course you went to al the classes and read all you study books! Or, that was you intention. A lot of students prepare in a different manner, for example a just before the exams. But how do you know how to prepare? The most information you get out of: Lecture & notes The classes are the most important. The most important subjects, or what the professor thinks what is most important, are discussed in these classes. Try to connect these subjects to your demanded lecture. Where is the overlap and what is the difference between the book and the class? Did you not understand the classes? Your schoolbag is at the house of your friend for 2 months already so you were not able to make notes? There is a solution. Sometimes you can watch the classes online. But this takes a lot of time and you have to have some discipline to watch them. Another option is to take a tutoring course or buy a summary of TentamenHULP.nl. Most of the time you can copy some college notes of your fallow students. For some studies you are able to buy notes online. Textbooks & summaries There are people who do not have textbooks. Some students think that they are too expensive, others think that they are too heavy and other are just too lazy. Many students use (or make) summaries. This is a good remedy for the preparation of the exam. But it could be handy to keep your book next to it, this way you are able to see what is and what is not discussed in the summary. Practice exams Practice exams are very effective. But when do you have to make them? Before you start: you can see what you can expect. During preparation of the exam: this way you can see what your strengths and weaknesses are. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 21

On the end of your preparation: you will get an indication of how good you know the demanded curriculum. Of course it depends how many practice exams there are offered. You can go to for free practice exams. Tip: Note at every practice exams what you did wrong. After you make all the practice exams, you can repeat all the mistakes. 4.2 Moment supreme Sometimes you are making an exam for 3 hours, this could be exhausting. Bring some food and/or drinks with you. It could be possible that you do not know the answer of questions during the exam, or even worse you can get a total black out. Take a short break of a few minutes. Go to the toilet, eat or drink something. Do not stand still too long if you do not know the answer of a question. Go to the next question, maybe the answer come up later. Tips for multiple-choice exams 1. Peruse the exam a few times First, make all the questions that you do know. You skip all the questions that you do not know immediately. Then you start again with the exam and make all the questions that you did not know (immediately). 2. Choose for the best answer Often there are more the 2 answer possibilities. Often 1 answer is correct, but it is also possible that there are more answers correct. In that case (depends of the questions of course) you have to choose the best one. 3. Score out answer possibilities Sometimes you have no idea what the best answer could be. If this is the case, score out the false answers. Most of the time there are rubbish answers, or maybe you know what that alternative answer is but that that is not the right answer for this question. When you have 2 answers left, the chance is bigger that you will choose the right one. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 22

4. Which one does not fit in the line? Sometimes you do not get the question. A possibility is simple, look to the answers and which one is not in line. Of course, in most exams this is not clear. But sometimes there are 2 answers what will mean the same, but is slightly different formulated. So now you know that these answers are not correct (because otherwise there should be 2 answers correct). 5. First impression At multiple-choice exams you have to recognise the curriculum and you do not have to right it down. It is a cliché, but first impression is often the best answer. Caution/tip! Double negative answers, this can work confusing. Check if you answer every question. If you write down all the answers on a scribbling pad you are able to check all the answers at home. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 23

5 INFORMATION Where do you have to get your study-information? You have to get all the information you need, if you read all your textbooks and go to all your classes. But there are other methods to learn the demanded curriculum, such as using summaries. Very effective manners to succeed for your exam are following tutoring courses and making practice exams. The answer for the question: Every student wants to get more knowledge. is not the same for every student. The answer of the question: Every student wants to get his/her study points. is for everyone the same. To achieve this goal you can use the fallowing sources: Textbooks Class notes Summaries Practice exams Tutoring courses 5.1 Textbooks Most students cannot miss their study books during their college years. Not every student buys a study book, but only uses a summary. Most of the students thinks the study books are too expensive and too boring. You cannot do anything about the point that study books are boring. But the prices of the study books vary. Fallow students The cheapest way to get textbooks is to approach fallow students. Often they do not use the textbooks anymore, and they would be pleased to sell these books to you (just like you could do too). It depends what state the book is, but most of the time you can get it a lot cheaper. Most of the time students have summaries, a syllabus, old reports, essays etc. You can ask your fallow students if they want to sell their old books, ask old-students, second, third or master year students. These students want to sell their old books and often it saves you hundreds of euros per year. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 24

Second hand of the Internet There are plenty of websites where you can order second hand books. For example: marktplaats, eci.nl and bol.com. On these websites you can buy and sell your study books. In a few minutes you have a good indication if you can close a good deal. If you buy a second hand book, keep in mind that you probably have to pay shipping cost and that there are some risks (like if it is the right printing, the state where the book is in etc.). Study association & Eci.nl & Bol.com Most study associations offer textbooks. Maybe you can get your study books a lot cheaper at your study association. You can get your study books at Eci.nl or Bol.com, on average these study books are a lot cheaper then the books in bookshops. Selexyz Broese One of the greatest scientific bookshops in Holland is Selexys Broese. Most of the time these books are a lot more expensive then in normal bookshops. 5.2 College notes During the classes the professor discuss the most important study material. Sometimes it has some overlap with the lecture, but the professor gives some extra information and some examples. It is wise to go to the classes. This way you get more affinity with the subject matter. The first and the last class are often the most important ones. There are classes that are recorded; you are able to see these online, this way you can decide on your own when you want to see the classes. But the most classes are not recorded, so if you miss the class you have to do it with only the PowerPoint slides of the class, you are able to find these online. These slides miss the required notes and the explanation. When you go to class it is wise to make notes. When you do not have the notes, we recommend asking a fallow student to copy these notes. Another manner is to buy these notes at an authority, there are notes available for studies but not for every study. Nederland TentamenHULP.nl, all rights reserved. 25

5.3 Summaries Books are often thick, hard to read and narcotic. You are able to write your own summary, but you can buy one too. If you want to buy a summary go to. 5.4 Practice exams Practice is important. There are a lot of free practice exams on. TentamenHULP.nl receive these practice exams from students, students like you! So make sure, if you receive a digital practice exams, that you will upload this exam on the website. If you follow tutoring courses you will receive practice exams and other practice material, this way you will be well prepared. 5.5 Tutoring courses If you follow tutoring courses you will work efficient and effective for your exam. During the tutoring courses you will be trained to make exams. TentamenHULP.nl is specialized in giving tutoring courses to students. TentamenHULP.nl can offer you the 100 % success guarantee because of the combination of up-to-date curriculums, extensive range of practice material, class material, the knowledge of the student teachers and the personal guidance of our students. During the course you will work in small groups and you will practice with old exams, this way you will be best prepared for the exam! If you want to see the offer of courses go to.
