For single room occupancy is also needed two cheques per category. For twin room with extrabed in Category A is needed two cheques worth 53 each. They all have their special characteristics and open up various experiences for the visitors. Kotka is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Finland, at the estuary of Kymi river. Kotka is known by its port, industry and maritime festivals. 12 WHERE TO GO The Great Lakes District The lakes of the Great Lakes District, the largest lake district in Europe, were wrought into their fascinating form in the wake of the last ice age some 10,000 years ago. In this part of Finland there is more water than land. Cities of varying size and full of character are situated by the waters and diversity blooms in this rich encounter between east and west. Jyväskylä - located at the northern end of Lake Päijänne, the provincial capital Jyväskylä is home of the Neste Oil Rally Finland, the Finnish leg of the rally world championship. Lappeenranta - is the commercial and educational centre of South Karelia, the gateway to Lake Saimaa, to the Saimaa Canal and also to Russia. Mikkeli lies on the shore of Lakes Saimaa, Puumala and Kyyvesi in the heart of the lakeland region. You could combine an overnight stay in Mikkeli and visit to Savonlinna Opera Festival.
