2 District: Wallingford Public Schools School: Rock Hill Elementary School National School Climate Stard Stard 1: Shared Mission Is it evident that all members of the school community are committed to physical, emotional intellectual safety of the learners? Rock Hill School is continually addressing evaluating school climate. All staff members have been trained in the policies for reporting mean behavior. All staff has viewed GCN module on bullying creating a positive school climate. Continued work in Responsive Classroom. District is providing 3 days of a consultant to come into the school to provide more direction in the areas of positive teacher language, logical consequences academic choice. School climate team made up of teachers, administrators, at least one parent. will continue to meet to revise refine our school wide behavior plan. Continue to recite Star Student Pledge each morning State Surveys StarTracker Faculty surveys Ongoing Staff has participated in regular training in Responsive Classroom Continue to h out stars for acts representing good character. Highlight character traits throughout the school.
3 Stard 1: Shared Mission Do participants share a vision of what a positive school climate looks, feels sounds like? Staff is accepting of the character stars program common behavior expectations. Star Student Pledge is a Star Tracker is on focal point to all google drive available morning to all staff announcements. Students to get frequent updates of star count. Character Wall of Fame for when a student receives recognition for all traits. Ongoing... to start earlier in the coming school year once all traits have been introduced. Stard 1: Shared Values What are the shared values? Conversations Professional regarding positive interaction student behavior. Consistency in Respectful language expectations from class to class. Training in Responsive Classroom Survey Results Ongoing Training to take place throughout the school year. Respectful interactions Stard 1: Shared What are the shared priorities? Positive student behavior Effective consistent school-wide discipline Stronger communication of discipline Respectful Interactions between staff Clearly defined school-wide discipline Forms in place Icebreaker type of activities to start PD/faculty meetings Surveys Created shared vision by staff on how people want to be treated.
