But Karlstad is growing.. With the same density, that means that 16 square kilometers more land needs to be used for building.

8 How does the risk picture look? Clear River is more of a major risk factor than Lake Vänern A 100-year flood in Klarälven affecting large parts of Karlstad, eg parts of the cut, dig, Färjestad, Norrstrand, Romstad and Sommarro In the long term increased risk of flooding in Lake Vänern, which may affect Karlstad seriously. Today's 100-year level may eventually become a 20-year. However, according to the Climate and Vulnerability study of 2008 there is little risk for the worst case scenario occurring.
