6 Biomedicine Seminar, Tuesday 20 May 2008 Purpose: To highlight most recent advances in heart failure and stroke, in particular disease management and treatments, both standard and alternative, and their impact on the patient s well-being. To compare heart failure care and stroke care between Göteborg and Shanghai in order to identify cutting edge methods for bilateral collaboration. New biomaterials and regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy, have great potentials to repair injured tissues. Both in Shanghai and Göteborg there are cutting edge research going on in these fields. To explore collaborative initiatives between the regions is an important mission for the seminar.
