3 Brown s is London We first opened our doors on Albemarle Street in Since then, Rudyard Kipling, Agatha Christie and Winston Churchill have come to eat, sleep and write here. Teddy Roosevelt came by to prepare for his wedding day, and it was from our Reception that Alexander Graham Bell made Britain s first telephone call. We keep the names of today s illustrious guests under lock and key. These days our guests arrive in taxi cabs rather than hansom cabs, but one thing has not changed: the understated hospitality that makes Brown s famous. 2 3

7 A taste and a sip of London We have a traditional tea room, a not-so-traditional restaurant, and a bar that evokes London in the Sixties and Seventies. For more intimate occasions, a range of private meeting and dining rooms are available. The English Tea Room Many claim to serve London s definitive afternoon tea. We defy you to find a scone as light or a cup of tea as fragrant as ours. HIX Mayfair The HIX menu is all about British flavours handled deftly and with sophistication. Potted Morecambe Bay Shrimps. Mixed beets with Cashel Blue. Norfolk treacle tart with clotted cream. The menu is designed to be a reflection of every passing season. Each plate is as much a work of art as the Tracey Emin and Rankin works that hang on the walls.
