1 Cathay Pacific flies directly to LCK from Hong Kong The airport is now served four days a week out of Hong Kong Industry giant Cathay Pacific recently began serving Rickenbacker International Airport with twice weekly flights from Hong Kong to Columbus, offering shippers more choice and flexibility moving commodities between Asia and North America. With this new service, Rickenbacker is now served at least four days a week from Hong Kong in conjunction with Cargolux and Kalitta Airlines. Our 13 Boeing 747-8F freighters are the ideal aircraft to link Hong Kong with the Americas giving a reliable and fuel efficient service to our customers, said James Woodrow, Cathay Pacific Director of Cargo. Cathay is collecting cargo from its vast network of consumer product sourcing areas spanning across Asia and beyond and delivering it to North American customers in a timely, efficient manner. Rickenbacker provides ideal access to the U.S. consumer base, with 50 percent of the U.S. population living within a one-day drive of the airport. The whole region benefits from Cathay s connectivity throughout the world, said Elaine Roberts, President & CEO of Columbus Regional Airport Authority, which operates Rickenbacker. This is a tremendous accomplishment for the Central Ohio community and helps our local businesses be more competitive in an increasingly global economy. This was the case when Bridge Credit Union recently partnered with Roadmaster Driver School of Ohio to package loans specifically for students of the trade school. Companies are always telling us about their needs; they have driver spots that need filled, said Jeff Whittington, School Director of Roadmaster. This program helps us place more students in those roles by offering the extra financial support they need. Every year, students go through Roadmaster Driver School of Ohio and about 10 percent of those students use financing. The 160 hours of on-road and classroom training runs $6,495, according to Whittington.
