18 EXPERT IN WIRELESS IP SURVEIL LANCE Brickcom 3G Camera Setup (1/9) Important Information For cameras with the USB / mini-usb port (MD-100Ap v2.1, CB-101Ap v2.1 CB-102Ap v2.1, CB-500Ap, CB-502Ap), the 3G setting page will show up only if the USB dongle is detected. Please attach the 3G dongle (with SIM card) to the camera s USB / mini-usb port before the camera is powered on. For cameras with built-in 3G module (GOB-200Np, GOB-300Np), the 3G setting page is always visible. Please insert the 3G SIM card correctly to the camera before proceeding with setup.

Therefore the uplink transmission rate should be taken into consideration when choosing the data plan. The actual uplink transmission rate varies with the signal quality and load of the 3G cell tower.

Brickcom s online bandwidth calculator can help the user figure out the amount of bandwidth/storage consumed for a certain period of time: An alternative to live view is the recurring snapshot function, which sends out the snapshot periodically. This uses less bandwidth compared with liveview. Supports FTP, , Samba (network attached storage device), and SD card.

A static public IP address is not necessary. The following types of IP addresses are considered private and will not allow for the camera live view on Internet. 10.x.x.x x.x x.x In case the camera can only get a private IP address... The user can use the recurring snapshot function. The user can set up events for the camera to send out video clips or snapshots when a specific event occurs.
