In addition, he/she should be registered with Pharmacy and poisons board of Kenya and have at least one year post qualification experience in a Pharmacy outlet, hospital, university or research institution. Working knowledge of unit-process, unit-dose dispensing pharmaceuticals, laboratory practice, pharmaceutics and pharmacognosy will be an added advantage. They must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a valid practicing license. 9 ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS VICE-CHANCELLOR S OFFICE DIRECTORATE OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY Technician (Networks) Grade 5/6/7 (REF: AD/01/08/15) Applicants should have a Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science or any other relevant field from a recognized institution. They should have worked in a busy academic institution/computer firm as technician for at least 3 years. Applicants with industry certifications and a degree in the relevant field will have an added advantage. Excellent team player of high integrity and should be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision. PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT Public Relations Officer- Grade 12 (REF: AD/02/08/15) Applicants should have a master s degree Public Relations or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with three (3) years relevant experience in Grade 10 or as a senior officer in a Public relations Department of a large institution. He/she must be a member of Public Relations Society of Kenya or other public relations professional body recognized in Kenya. Experience in writing, editing, proof-reading and designing communication documents for public dissemination and should be computer literate-skilled and confident user in office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power point, publisher, Adobe in design and Corel-draw, face book and website content management.in addition, the applicant must haveexcellent written and oral communication skills, conveying message to different audiences using diverse media. Public Relations Assistant- Grade 8 (REF: AD/03/08/15) Applicants should have a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations or its equivalent from a recognized institution with three years experience in a busy Public Relations office or a large institution. Knowledge of Information Technology is mandatory. SECURITY DEPARTMENT Assistant Security Officer- Grade 5/6/7 (REF: AD/04/08/15) Applicants should have at least Kcse certificates or its equivalent and must be proficient in English and Kiswahili. In addition, the applicants must have at least three (3) years experience as Security supervisor Grade IV in a University or its equivalent institution and be appropriately trained in Kenya Police or Armed Forces. Moreover, the applicants must be of high integrity, have the ability to supervise and organize guards during any major incident and must be able to work odd hours and public holidays. Applicants who have a Diploma in Criminology will have an added advantage. 10 DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE & DEVELOPMENT ESTATES DEPARTMENT Assistant Estates Manager- Grade 12 (REF: AD/05/08/15) Applicants should have a Masters degree in Building Economics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture or any other relevant field and at least three (3) years experience. Applicants with a Bachelor s degree who have at least 5 years in grade 10 will also be considered. Senior Water Officer- Grade 12 (REF: AD/06/08/15) Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Hydrology or any other related field and have at least three (3) years experience. Applicants with a Bachelors Degree/ Higher Diploma with at least three (3) years experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate should have aproven understanding and practical knowledge in water supply systems and should be able toplan, implement and evaluate maintenance of water supply, design and operation under uncertain conditions. In addition, applicants should have an in depth understanding of water supply design and operation under uncertain conditions. Those who have worked in a University setting will have an added advantage. Electrical Superitendent- Grade 9/10 (REF: AD/07/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution and must have at least five (5) years experience in a large institution. Maintenance Officers- Grade 8/9/10 (REF: AD/08/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Bachelors Degree in Building and Civil Engineering or any other related field from a recognized tertiary institution and have at least three (3) years experience in a busy organization. Applicants With a Higher Diploma who have at least five (5) years experience will also be considered. Masonry Supervisor- Grade 7/8 (REF: AD/09/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Diploma or Higher Diploma in the relevant field and have proper knowledge and five (5) years experience in masonry work in a large institution or organization and must display leadership abilities and ability to organize and supervise. HEALTH DEPARTMENT Medical Officers-Grade 12 (REF: AD/10/08/15) Applicants should have an MB ChB Degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) or its equivalent from University of Nairobi or any other recognized University. In addition, applicants must have five (5) years working experience post internship and be registered as a Medical Practitioner by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board of Kenya and still retained in the practice register. Pharmaceutical Technologists- Grade 8/9/10 (REF: AD/11/08/15) Applicants should have a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from Kenya Medical Training College. In addition, candidates must have at least five (5) years experience, applicants with a Post graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or related areas will have an added advantage. Nurses- Grade 5/6/7 (REF: AD/12/08/15) Applicants must have a Diploma in Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College and be registered with Kenya Nursing Council and must have at least five (5) years working experience in a government hospital or a busy hospital. Medical Records Technologists (REF: AD/13/08/15) Applicants should have a Diploma in Health records and information with at least five (5) years work experience in a recognized government institution. Computer literacy will be an added advantage coupled with evidence of continuing health education. 10

11 TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT Transport Manager-Grade 12 (REF: AD/14/08/15) Applicants should have a Masters Degree preferably with an undergraduate Degree in Mechanical engineering, Transportation, Logistics or other related field with at least Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations management and be a holder of a valid national driving license. Workshop Foreman-Grade 8 (REF: AD/16/08/15) Applicants should have a Higher Diploma in Automotive Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years experience in a busy industry and must have a valid driving licence. Mechanics- Grade 3/4 (REF: AD/17/08/15) Applicants should have a Diploma in Auto/Mechanical Engineering with at least three (3) years experience in repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipments especially four(4) wheel drive vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles and tractors. Applicants must have a valid driving licence and must be able to demonstrate Computer literacy. Those with experience in a reputable franchise holder or a busy garage and are able to multi-task will have an added advantage or applicants must possess Government Trade test II and at least five (5) years work experience and holders of Government Trade test I with an experience of three (3) years will also be considered. Auto Electrician- Grade 3/4 (REF: AD/18/08/15) Applicants should have a minimum Grade of C Plain in form Four (4), Craft or Final proficiency certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering with at least three years experience in a busy workshop. In addition, the candidate should have knowledge in electronic engine/transmission systems operations, have a Driver s licence and should be Computer literate. ADMINISTRATION & CENTRAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT Administrative Secretaries-Grade 8/9/10 (REF: AD/19/08/15) Applicants should have a Bachelors Degree in Secretarial studies or a Bachelors Degree plus Secretarial studies with at least stage II in Business English, Office practice and Commerce. Secretaries- Grade 5/6/7 (REF: AD/20/08/15) Applicants should have KCSE/KCE certificate with a mean grade of C- and a Diploma in Secretarial studies stage II in Business English, Office Practice and Commerce and knowledge in information technology and must have experience of at least three (3) years as a secretary:holders of stage III in Office Management and Business English will have an added advantage. DIRECTORATE OF HUMAN RESOURCES Counsellor- Grade 12 Alcohol & Drug Abuse Unit (REF: AD/21/08/15) Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Counseling; or any Social Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling. 12 DIRECTORATE OF DEVELOPMENT Architect-Grade 12 (REF: AD/22/08/15) Applicants should have a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from a recognized University and must have project Management skills, be a registered Architect and have at least five (5) years experience in a busy Architectural firm, 2 of which must be in project Management. In addition, the applicant must be Computer literate and familiarity with common CAD, Arch CAD software and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. DIVISION OF ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS LIBRARY DEPARTMENT Assistant Librarian-Grade 12 (REF: AD/23/08/15) Applicant should have a Masters degree in Library and/or Information Science. They should have at least 6 years post-qualification work experience in a large organized library system preferably an academic library. Holders of higher degrees and/or knowledge of IT as applied to library and Information Science will have an added advantage. Applicant should be conversant with modern management techniques, including relevant aspects of Information Technology. Bindery Assistant-Grade 5/6/7 (REF: AD/24/08/15) Applicant should have KCSE or its equivalent, Diploma in Book-Binding and Print finishing with at least 5 years practical experience in library binding. Skills in the use and repair of binding equipment is essential. E-CAMPUS Instructional Materials Editor-Grade 10/11 (REF: AD/25/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Bachelor Degree in one of the following disciplines: Journalism, Public Relations, Linguistics, Language Education or any other related qualification and should; Have three 3 years of experience in writing and/or editing web content, learning or other relevant resources Demonstrate excellent writing, editing and communication skills. Have experience in managing a web presence and carrying out communication work in a busy, fast paced web environment. Have basic Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) or learning management systems. Have strong computer skills including office applications. Web Information Officer (REF: AD/26/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Bachelor Degree in one of the following disciplines: Journalism, Public Relations, Linguistics, Language Education or any other related qualification and should; Have 2 years of experience in Communications, web design,content and project management. Extensive knowledge and of keen interest in the dynamics of social media. Excellent writing,editorial and communication skills with a sound understanding of writing for the web and engaging online audiences. 13 Multimedia Resource Specialist (REF: AD/27/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Bachelor Degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer science, Information Technology, Education Technology or any other related qualification. Have 2 years of experience in with audio and video equipment (such as video cameras, still cameras, microphones and mixing sound boards). Experience with non linear video editors. Proficiency with adobe suite or other related tool. Ability to intergrate the work of other specialists including content experts, graphic designers, animators, video producers and programmers in the final product. Experience with defining,developing and assessing sharable content objects. Experience with e-learning standards including SCORM. Copyright Officer (REF: AD/28/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Bachelor Degree in one of the following disciplines: Library & Information Science, Information & knowledge Management, Legal studies or any other related field of study. Have 3 years experience in copyright, fair use and intellectual property management within an academic library setup. Advanced knowledge of copyright legislation. Knowledge of copyright and scholarly communication issues within higher education. Knowledge of copyright issues in the context of developments in creative commons and open access. Learner Support Assistant (REF: AD/29/08/15) Applicants should have at least a Diploma in one of the following disciplines: Communication, linguistics, language education or other related qualification. Have 2 years experience in web based communication, online learning/teaching or other relevant experience in an ICT rich workplace. Exceptional abilities in spoken and written English. Familiarity with and/or an interest in using the internet for learning purposes. Welcoming instincts, a personable and social approach. Ability to be polite and temperate even under extreme pressure.
