I am a Chartered Insurer and work as an IT Solution Architect for the UK s largest insurer. My interests include music and genealogy. I volunteer for various organisations. A trained Science teacher, I have worked in secondary schools in Suffolk throughout my career, finally retiring as Headteacher Zoë Sprake. I have been a Governor for over 25 years at Primary and Secondary level and last year was my sixth and final year as Chairman at Bungay High School, having had, at various times, links with Special Educational Needs, Music, Science and Modern Foreign Languages. My professional background is in the management of a small, specialist auctioneering business.

During my service as Chair, we recruited our present Headteacher, went from Satisfactory to Good in the opinion of Ofsted and laid the foundation for us to top the Norfolk league tables in Varied business, health, housing and charity sector experience and qualifications in Social Work and a Master s degree in Voluntary Sector Management for the LSE inform my thinking. Also, a strong belief that all children deserve the best start but sadly many are hindered by economic and social factors which we as a school and community must work hard to overcome. My two daughters play violin and attend Bungay High School. They are also active in the Fisher Youth Theatre in Bungay. I am married to the artist Nicola Slattery. Matt Zipfel Parent Governor Started at Bungay High School in 2015 Term of office ends: 18 December 2018 Member of the Premise, Health and Safety committee. Link Governor for Maths and Able, Gifted and Talented. Prior to joining Bungay High School as a Governor, I was a Parent Governor at Elm Tree Primary School from 2006, where I have been linked to either ICT or Gifted and Talented areas. For my day job, I am a Solution Architect (i.e., I work in IT) at Aviva plc in Norwich. Outside work, I am a worship leader at my church, where I sing, play keyboards and bass guitar but not all at the same time! My daughter started at Bungay High School in September 2013 and my son in September 2015.
