1 About the Lactation Consultant Education Program Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) offers continuing education courses that encourage participants to customize their self-directed study to become eligible to take the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) certification examination. The OSU-OKC program consists of two five-day courses which provide 80 contact hours. An additional 10 contact hours can be earned through a variety of on-line courses, self-study modules, or live courses to meet the lactation specific education requirement of 90 contact hours. All disciplines and chronological parameters of International Lactation Consultant Examiner s (IBLCE) Exam Blueprint* are addressed Lactation 1 and Lactation 2 OSU-OKC Programs. Participants may attend single days or week-long courses. *See: Lactation 2: Special Situations and Professional Development April 22 to April 26, 2013 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:15 pm on the OSU-OKC campus. Exam Candidates for 2013 Please Note: If you want to use the 40.5 hours of lactation specific education from the Lactation 2 Program held on April 22 April 26, 2013 to qualify to take the 2013 IBLCE examination, you will need to complete the Memorandum of Understanding in the application for the examination and pay an additional $100 to IBLCE because you will have not completed your course work prior to the March 31, 2013 application deadline.
