2 What Is Enhanced PTT 2.0? 3 Push To Talk Over Wi-Fi Enhanced PTT 2.0 users can make and receive PTT calls over compatible Wi-Fi networks in addition to the AT&T wireless network Provides improved coverage area to stay in touch even if AT&T cellular wireless service is unavailable Uses compatible public Wi-Fi hotspots, AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots, home or corporate Wi-Fi networks Communicate via PTT with other users on Wi-Fi or on the AT&T cellular network This feature is not available on any competing U.S. provider PTT service! What you need: A device with built-in Wi-Fi capability (including compatible smartphones but not feature phone devices) and Enhanced PTT 2.0 software. To enable PTT over Wi-Fi, select Allow PTT to use Wi-Fi connection in the Enhanced PTT application options menu. An Internet-connected Wi-Fi network that you can access (open hotspots or passwordprotected hotspots for which you have access permissions) which permits full access to all Enhanced PTT server IP addresses. The Wi-Fi network must meet certain configuration and performance requirements. By default, most Wi-Fi hotspots that permit "https" (secure Web) connections will allow Enhanced PTT over Wi-Fi unless a firewall or proxy interferes. See the AT&T document "Enhanced PTT Wi-Fi Requirements" for Wi-Fi network access and configuration requirements. 3

4 Best Practices For Using Enhanced PTT Over Wi-Fi Move between cellular and Wi-Fi By default, Enhanced PTT uses your device's preferred data connection. This means that if you have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot for Web or , Enhanced PTT uses that same Wi-Fi connection. When you move between the AT&T wireless network and a compatible Wi-Fi hotspot, you'll lose connectivity for 5-10 seconds as your device switches networks. This may happen during a call. Moving between Wi-Fi hotspots with different SSIDs will also cause a brief interruption. To avoid interruptions caused by switching between networks, clear the Allow PTT to use Wi-Fi checkbox in the Enhanced PTT application settings. This enables your device to stay connected to Wi-Fi for other applications, but will restrict EPTT to the AT&T wireless network. Important limitations to keep in mind: PTT calling performance over Wi-Fi is dependent on the setup and network connectivity of your connected Wi-Fi hotspot, which is beyond the control of AT&T. AT&T does not provide end-to-end troubleshooting of Enhanced PTT calling over Wi-Fi. AT&T will provide basic troubleshooting and verify accessibility of the Enhanced PTT service over the AT&T wireless network, but will not troubleshoot the configuration or connectivity of individual Wi-Fi networks. 4

5 Enterprise-Grade Encryption Enhanced PTT 2.0 provides strong encryption of all Enhanced PTT calls and data sync operations to help protect your privacy and sensitive information Uses the industry-standard AES cipher with a strength of 256 bits TLS protocol (same technology used for secure Web browsing) is used for Wi-Fi connections; TLS/DTLS protocols optimized for cellular are used on the AT&T wireless network Encrypts all calls as well as "out of band" communications (e.g. contact lists, Instant Personal Alerts) between the handset and the Enhanced PTT servers Encryption requires Enhanced PTT 2.0 (software version 7.4.x); conversations with users of older versions of Enhanced PTT software will not be encrypted endto-end 5

6 Privacy Mode Enhanced PTT Privacy Mode is a new option that lets you control how incoming Enhanced PTT calls are handled whenever your phone ringer setting is set to "silent" or "vibrate-only." Normally, whenever you receive an Enhanced PTT call, the alert and voice are sent through the loud "speaker phone" speaker on your device With Privacy Mode, you can control whether an incoming EPTT call is muted (no audio is heard) or if the PTT call uses the phone's "earpiece" speaker that is normally used when you hold the phone to your ear You can choose the behavior using the Privacy Mode setting within the Enhanced PTT application to select either of these options: Mute Incoming Call: Incoming Enhanced PTT calls will not give an incoming call tone and the PTT call will be muted. (This is the default option on previous versions of Enhanced PTT.) Use Earpiece: Incoming Enhanced PTT calls will be sent to the phone's earpiece speaker instead of the loudspeaker. You can continue your Enhanced PTT call by holding the phone up to your ear, just like a normal phone call. You still have to use the Enhanced PTT button to take and release the floor. 6

7 Support For Enhanced PTT Wired Accessories Enhanced PTT 1.0 supports microphones and other accessories but requires using your device to make Enhanced PTT calls Enhanced PTT 2.0 supports optional accessories that enable fully hands-free Enhanced PTT operation Broad range of accessories under development; key devices are expected to be available later in 2013, including: Klein Remote Speaker Mic (RSM) with battery in unit Advancetec RSM with battery on belt clip Klein Signal ear buds Klein Patriot ear buds with noise reduction technology Milicom high-noise reduction technology ear buds Support for wireless and Bluetooth accessories is targeted for 2H 2013 Enhanced PTT hands free compatible accessories are available through the AT&T SPEED portal or from authorized wireless accessory dealers (not currently available in AT&T Company Owned Retail stores). 7

8 How Can I Get Enhanced PTT 2.0? Enhanced PTT 2.0 is now available for select Android smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S III Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Samsung Rugby Smart Additional devices anticipated later in 2013: Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro (requires device software update) Samsung Galaxy S 4 BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 Airo I-Safe 28 To upgrade compatible devices, visit and then follow the instructions. Currently, upgrading requires "sideload" Over The Air download process (your Android device must have the allow unknown sources option checked in Settings). Software updates will be posted to applicable application stores in the future. Also available for enterprise "sideload" distributions via MDM systems; contact your AT&T account team for more information. 8

Enhanced PTT service requires use of a compatible AT&T wireless device and acceptance of the End User License Agreement. Use of the service on smartphones requires download and installation of the Enhanced PTT software. User interface may vary by device. Some features may not be available on all devices. Enhanced PTT is designed to work over an AT&T cellular wireless data network connection. Wireless data coverage is not available in all areas. Enhanced PTT is not compatible with International Roaming. You may remain logged in to the Enhanced PTT system if you roam out of coverage area. Enhanced PTT performance may be limited in 2G coverage areas. Availability, security, speed, timeliness, accuracy, and reliability of service are not guaranteed by AT&T. 9
