Telangana Has India become victim to the divide and rule policy? Youth Parliament Empathy Cooperation & team work 12 to 15 minutes will be devoted to questions. The remaining time will be appropriately allotted for discussing other parliamentary issues, ensuring proper balance in terms of content and time spent on each issue. Medium of interaction will be in English only. For evaluation of performance of each school, a committee of Judges shall be constituted by the Ministry consisting of An MP/ Ex-MP/ MLA An officer of the Ministry An officer of the Directorate of Education Discipline and Decorum Observance of Parliamentary procedures Selection of subjects for question and supplementary and quality of answer thereof Knowledge of the content (topic given) Delivery / quality of speech delivered, standard of debate Overall performance 30 marks 100 marks

2 DAY ONE Friday, 30 th August, 2013 No. of Participants 2 (1 from Grade 6 to 8 & 1 from Grade 9 to 12) Topic Will be given on the spot Duration: 2 hours Poster Making & Slogan Writing Problem Solving The poster size will be half imperial (half chart paper). The poster prepared must also have an appropriate slogan. Any medium of colours can be used. Participants will bring all colours and required stationery, except for chart paper which will be provided by the host school. Slogan writing Originality Creativity Neatness Overall presentation No. of Participants 8 to 12 Topic Will be given on the spot Street Play (Nukkad Natak) Duration: 30 mins for preparation after the topic is given 5 8 mins for the presentation 5 mins warning bell 8 mins final bell

3 Interpersonal relationships Cooperation and team work Empathy Dealing with emotions Consensus building Advocacy skills The presentation can be done in English or Hindi No microphones, Speakers, Music system will be allowed or available for the competition and hence Teams can sing / dance by themselves to create the necessary music or sound. For props - musical instruments, masks etc can be used by the participants. The team exceeding the time limit for the presentation will attract negative marks (less : 5 marks) Ideally recommended costumes can be Jeans-Kurta, or Kurta-Pyjama or school uniform. Decision of Judges will be final and binding on all teams. 4 Cooperation and team work All the resource material will be displayed at a counter by the host school. The participants can pick up items of their choice to create their object. The participants need to complete the task within the time limit. The objects created by the participants will be displayed for presentation and judgement; but the participants cannot carry along the object with them. Creativity Originality & Uniqueness Neatness Overall Effect DAY TWO Saturday, 31 st August, 2013 Target group: Grade VI to VIII No. of Participants 01 Topic: Will be given on the spot Duration: 2-3 minutes (final bell after 3 mins) EXTEMPORE Dealing with emotions

5 The topic will be allotted to the participants on the spot. The participant will pick up the topic from a bowl containing chits. The participant will be given 3 minutes precisely to prepare his/her speech on the topic chosen. The participant will stop at the final bell. The participants will bring along all the required food items, crockery, and cutlery etc for the presentation. The participants will be allowed to take back their presentation after the event is over. Creativity & Uniqueness in the menu

In the final round there will be 8 to 10 rounds. Each team will be given 30 seconds to answer a question. If the question is not attempted, the same will be passed on to the next team. The team attempting the question in the first go will be awarded and the team attempting a passed question be awarded 5 marks. Audio visual round questions will not be passed. Rapid fire round in one minute 10 questions will be asked. 2 marks for correct answer and minus 2 marks for wrong answer. Unless team says pass the next question will not be asked. If time is left, the unanswered questions will be asked again. The decision of the Quiz Master will be final and binding on all teams. In case of a TIE, a tie breaker round will be held.
