Without the support of volunteers like you, our clubs wouldn t be able to offer the Rush for the Cup. To the coaches, players, parents and officials, you are the face of the tournament. Please take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with these instructions so that you can do the best job possible as a field marshal. Everett Hovencamp, Tournament Director 1

3 Tournament Mission Statement The Damascus Soccer Club, a member of Alliance Soccer Club and Maryland Rush, formerly Seneca Soccer Association both have a long history of providing stable environments for youth players in Montgomery County. Boys and girls of all ages have passed through our clubs while developing not only their soccer skills but also their personal skills in teamwork and leadership. Our clubs take pride in sponsoring teams of all levels from recreation to Division 1. Our belief is that players of all abilities should have the opportunity to participate in travel soccer and rise to their highest potential. This may mean any level from Division 1 to Division 6 in the highly competitive NCSL and WAGS leagues. To date we have fulfilled our main missions while utilizing various fields of the MNCPPC and the ICB with their highly variable playing surfaces. It has always been abundantly clear that it is very difficult for young teams to develop truly cohesive passing skills when competing on fields of marginal quality. With the opening of the SoccerPlex facility in Germantown, the affiliate clubs now have access to the kind of high quality playing fields that will enhance the level of youth team play. Unfortunately, the high numbers of affiliate youth teams lead to the fact that each team has very few chances to play at the site during their league seasons. Participation in the various tournaments held at the SoccerPlex possibly offer additional games to local teams. However, most of the tournaments now being played at the SoccerPlex are created as elite-level tournaments geared toward drawing in nationally known teams from outside our area. The fact is that many of our local teams, certainly those in the Division 3 through Division 6 category, have no opportunity to enter these tournaments. It is with this thought in mind that the Damascus Soccer Club and the Maryland Rush, both of whom are charter affiliate members of the Maryland Soccer Foundation, banded together in a common interest to create an annual tournament for teams of this neglected category. In the Challenge Division, we are offering the full tournament experience to teams in the U-9 to U-16 age groups that now primarily play in the Division 2 to Division 6 equivalent skill level of travel soccer. The Champions is open to division 1 teams for U13 through U19 boys and girls age groups. Most of these teams are expected to come from Montgomery County and the local metropolitan area. We believe that the chance to play on the same fields as the elite teams will serve to inspire these lower teams to work hard in improving their individual and team skills. With the understanding of what a big-time tournament atmosphere is like, we expect many local teams to continue to grow and take their places in the national level tournaments. The Alliance Soccer Club and the Maryland Rush are committed to the success of the Rush for the Cup Soccer Tournament. Beyond the goal of offering a big tournament for intermediate level teams, the sponsoring clubs intend to establish the tournament as an annual event for local teams. We believe that by offering a well run, reasonably priced tournament will establish the positive identity required for the long-term success of the tournament in the minds of the local soccer community. 2

4 Field Marshal Instructions & Responsibilities Primary Function: The primary function of the Field Marshall is to monitor and report on the tournament game to insure that it happens smoothly and appropriately. Tasks: Try as best you can to keep all games on schedule. Starting games on time is critical to the overall flow of the tournament. The game schedules have been carefully designed to allow for officials to move between fields, teams to have two-hour breaks between games and minimizing automobile traffic gridlock. You can stay on schedule and get back on schedule by conducting pre-game activities for an upcoming game before a game being played ends. Teams can warm up, teams can check in and player cards can be checked (if needed) before the active game on the field ends. If referees are available for the next game, even the coin toss can be done on the sideline. First game of the day on a field 1. Come to tournament HQ located outside of the Discovery Sports center at the Soccerplex. Tournament staff will give you a pinny, field book, and walkie talkie. 2. Be at your field 20 minutes before the first game. 3. Inspect the field and the nets. Call or radio in if anything is missing or needs repairs. 4. Begin the before the game process. Game immediately following another game 1. Go to the designated field 20 minutes before the game. 2. Find the Field Marshal assigned to the game. 3. Ask the Field Marshal for the second penny and put it on. 4. Ask the Field Marshal for the clipboard and ask for the score sheet for the game you are the field marshal for. Before the game: 1. Put on the penny provided. The chair will be on the center line on the team side of field. 2. Verify the score sheet you have is the correct score sheet for the game that is about to begin. 3. Verify you have the proper sized ball for your age group. U9-U12 games will be played with a size 4 soccer ball. All other age groups will play with a regulation size 5 ball. 4. Introduce yourself to the coaches and managers of both teams and the referee staff. 5. Carding of teams- This is only required when requested by one of the coaches of the opposing team. Do the same for the opposing team when this happens. 6. Tell the officials that players receiving a yellow card can continue to play. The player does not have to be substituted out. 7. The team listed first on the schedule will be designated the home team. The home team will be responsible for change of jerseys when conflicts of colors occur as determined by the referee. If the home team cannot supply alternate jerseys, the home team will forfeit the game. 8. If one or both of the two teams is not present 10 minutes before the game, radio to the hub tent. 9. If one or more of the referee staff is not present 10 minutes before the game, radio to the referee assignor on radio channel Prior to the game, please instruct the coaches and players of each team that warming up in the goal area at the soccerplex is prohibited. 11. Prior to the game and during half time, please keep all non-players from playing on the field, especially around the goal areas. 3

5 During the game: 1. Record all goals scored and note the team that scored as well as the player s number that scored on the appropriate reporting sheet. If you miss the goal ask the coach the player number of the player that scored. For each goal try to write down a brief note on how the goal was scored. Examples: header after corner kick, penalty kick, cross from left forward, beat goalie one on one. Your goal comments will be posted along with the game scores. 2. Record all yellow and red cards during the game noting the player number that received the card and the reason, as best you can tell, why they received it on the reporting sheet. 3. Monitor the behavior of the fans watching the game and if unruly behavior occurs, go over to the coach and politely request that he cease whatever unacceptable behavior is occurring. If the behavior continues, the referee will stop the game and give a warning to coach. If the behavior still continues radio over to the hub tent for further action. If anyone threatens anyone, radio the hub tent or call tournament headquarters immediately. 4. If a player gets hurt, the referee will stop the play and waive the coach onto the field to assess the injury. Monitor the situation to see if the coach determines that the player is OK. If the player is not OK, but is capable of moving under their own power or with the assistance of others, go to the player and ask the coach if he/she feels additional attention is needed from one of the trainers. If the player remains down after a reasonable period of time or if the coach gives any indication that additional assistance is needed, radio for a trainer and indicate what additional support is needed and the urgency of the support required. If a player is hurt, on or off the field, radio for a trainer. It s ok to call the trainers for ankle twists, pulled muscles, cramps, cuts and scrapes. For very serious injuries, play will be suspended until the player can be safely removed from the field. AEDs, Automated External Defibrillators, (for heart attacks) are installed and available at the Maryland SoccerPlex at each of the comfort stations and on the wall just inside the front door of the Discover Sports Center. 5. If a referee gets hurt or is unable to continue Call for a trainer on channel #1, then switch to channel 3 and ask for the referee assignor. 6. About 10 minutes into the second half, teams for the next game will start to show up. If you are the field marshal for the next game, begin the field check-in process. If you are not the field marshal for the next game, look for the next field marshal. If they do not arrive within 20 minutes before the start time of the next game, radio or call HQ and begin the check in process until the field marshal arrives. When the next field marshal arrives, give them the clipboard and the game sheet for the next game so they can begin filling it out. At the conclusion of a game: 1. Meet the officials on the field. 2. Have the referee verify the game score, yellow and red cards given to players and the reason for the card(s). 3. Have the referee rate the teams on sportsmanship. 4. Have the officials and coaches sign the game report. 5. Remind the teams departing to pick up their bench area for any trash. 6. Add your comments on the game that will be published on the website. Nothing fancy, just a brief comment. Examples: An excellent game between both teams, Nice comeback by team x in the second half, excellent defense by x, Outstanding saves by x s goalie 7. Sign the report 8. Call or Radio the report into Tournament headquarters or enter it online (see next page). 9. Save the report in the field binder until collected by a tournament official. 10. Collect the game ball and place it on the chair on the center line of the team side along with the penny, walkietalkie and field binder. 11. If your field is running significantly behind schedule (>15 minutes) radio into tournament headquarters informing them that your game is behind schedule and radio again when the game has been completed. 4

6 Last Game of the day: 12. Do a quick trash pick up around the field. 13. Saturday - Take the penny, binder, walkie-talkie, to tournament headquarters located at Discovery Sports Center. 14. Sunday- Take the penny, binder, walkie-talkie, to tournament headquarters located at Discovery Sports Center. Championship Game First and second place teams will receive awards after the conclusion of the final game. Before the game starts inform the coaches that both teams will need to report to the grass area above the stadium on street side of the stadium to receive their awards and to allow parents to take pictures. Both teams from the age group should report together to the awards area. At the conclusion of Championship game, radio into Tournament HQ the game score and approximately how long until teams arrive in the awards area. Complete the rest of the end of game and end of day procedures. Bring the penny, binder, walkie-talkie, game ball and chair to the awards area at tournament headquarters located at Discovery Sports Center. 5

7 Instructions for reporting game results Radio or Telephone Call See the next page on how to enter the score using a web browser capable phone. If your field has been provided with a radio, please use the radio to contact the scoring office. Please remember that several games may finish at the same time meaning it will be impossible for everyone to report game scores at the same time. Your actions When you are ready to report scores turn the radio channel indicator to channel 2. Pause and listen to see if anyone else is currently talking or trying to report a score. If the channel is clear transmit: Field ready to report scores for (insert Age group eg Girls U14) If No Response from Scoring: Wait seconds or until there is a break in transmissions and repeat your original request to report scores. Field ready to report scores for (insert Age group eg Girls U14) Game ID: Read the game ID for your game. Wait for Scoring to Confirm they are ready. 8 Instructions for reporting game results via the web Entering Scores into GotSoccer Remotely Scoring: These instructions for tournaments, leagues and individual users such as team managers and referees who can be given permission to enter scores by an event. Please take a moment to read this as phoning in scores is no longer the recommended way to enter a score into the GotSoccer system. There are three ways to enter a score in the GotSoccer system. 1) Using a smart phone (This is the fastest way). 2) Using the QR Code at the top right of the game card. 3) Your personal computer In order to enter a score you will need at minimum The ability to scan a QR Code (see below) or 1) The event ID number 2) The event PIN 3) The game Number 4) To know the Home team and Away team 5) The web address for results or the call in phone number. Most of this information can be found on your game card. 7

9 Smart Phones and Home Computers On your smart phone (web enabled phone). Go to and look for the Scoring link. If you are using a PC or MAC you will need to go to Click it and enter the event ID and Pin, (if you do not know how to get this info, see the game card example above.) Enter the game number and press go. The system will return: If you click on the H or A box the system will return 8

10 Enter the scores and press Save. Please press Save before moving on to entering cards. To enter red or yellow cards and assign them to a player click on the V or R box for the desired team. The system will return the Team, card type, here Red and a drop down of all players. Select the player, the code and press Save. If you ve made a mistake you can remove the card. 9

11 Using a QR Code This module will automatically send a text and or of any score entered for the team and or division depending on your subscription choice. There is no cost other than your normal text message costs. No advertisements will be sent and once the league is finished, no other scores will be sent. This feature is event specific. We suggest this because you will see the exact score entered within a minute or two (depends on your text provider) of the system receiving the game score. Any corrections should be made at the field. Simply reenter the score. A QR code is similar to a bar code. In GotSoccer, it holds information on a particular game. It can be scanned using a smart phone app. The system will take you directly to the game without having to enter an Event ID and PIN. How can I use my smart phone to scan a QR code? You ll have to download an App, most are free. Search for QR code reader and scanner. There are several frees apps to choose from. For an IPhone try QR Reader for Iphone by TapMedia For an Android try Quickmark Barcode Scanner by SimpleAct These are just a few of the available scanning apps. Once you download the app, when opened you will be able to point your phone s camera at the QR code and when it reads it, the app will immediately open the scoring page. A QR code can be found on every game card. It is located at the top right of the card. Once in just follow the score enter instructions above. If you think you made a mistake entering the score then please immediately contact the scoring office via radio or phone. If you encounter problems using the web, then please use a radio or phone to communicate the game results. 10

12 Tournament Communications Radio Usage Every field marshal at the SoccerPlex will receive a radio for communication with the tournament staff. Each radio is equipped with a knob at the top that allows for selection of the radio channel. Radio Channel Usage 1 Leave your radio on this channel unless calling in scores or contacting the referee assignor. Use channel 1 for contacting tournament headquarters, trainers, security and any tournament related issue. 2 Calling in scores 3 Referee Assignor 4 Awards Area If Radio Operation Fails Call the Tournament Headquarters at If a player is seriously hurt, call 911, and then call tournament headquarters. Adverse Weather Thunder and Lightning The Maryland Soccerplex has installed a weather monitoring system that includes an advanced lightning detection system that monitors and detects electrostatic energy in the atmosphere. As that energy begins to migrate and shift into the monitored region the system, will begin a series of alert notifications consisting of "Caution", "Warning", and finally "Red" alert in order to allow adequate time to seek shelter prior to the arrival of severe weather. Once it is safe to resume activities, the system provides an "All Clear" notification. When the system reaches "Red" alert status, an automated process of visual and audible alarms takes place. The visual alert consists of flashing strobes on the Discovery Sports Center and the audible alarms are air horns covering the entire SoccerPlex. With potentially thousands of people at the Soccerplex at any time, the system will automatically advise them to seek cover by initializing the strobe lights and sounding a loud 15 second air horn blast. When conditions become safe to resume activities at "All Clear", the lights stop flashing and audible alarms sound 3 short 5 second blasts. Storm Procedures When it appears a storm is approaching: Ask for and record the coach and team manager cell phone numbers Confirm the referee names and get their cell phone numbers When the play stops: Follow steps 1-5 under At the conclusion of a game 11

13 Seek Shelter Radio or call into tournament headquarters. Remain in the vicinity of the field until instructed to leave. In general any game in play at the time play is stopped will be called as a completed game. Heat The tournament staff and trainers will be closely monitoring heat conditions during the course of the tournament. If the heat becomes excessive the tournament will require all fields to take a clock running water break at approximately halfway through each half of play. When the clock running break takes place is entirely at the discretion of the referee. Additionally the referee is completely entitled to schedule a clock running break without the approval of tournament headquarters. If it s too hot on your specific field then suggest a water break to the coaches and the referees. Please keep an eye on the health of the referees. They re typically running for multiple games and they re subject to the same heat issues as the players. 14 Rules TEAM ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION Teams accepted will provide at, or prior to registration: Approved State Roster, individual Medical Release Forms, USYSA or US Club player passes with picture permanently attached, and Permission to Travel Forms if needed. Online registration will be available. You may not mix and match US Club and USYS cards for your roster. If you use a US Club roster, all of the cards must be US Club. If you use USYS roster, all of the cards must be USYS. US Club Soccer Teams - May participate in the August Cup with properly validated US Club Soccer team rosters. Properly validated USYS Player Passes will be accepted for all rostered players USYSA season rosters will also be accepted for the tournament. Guest players must have credentials from either the or seasonal years. Guest Player passes must match the roster, US Club card= US Club roster, USYS card=usys roster. No mixing and matching of US Club and USYS cards. A properly validated team roster containing player names and dates of birth must be present at all games. The team roster must be presented if requested by field marshal or referee. Failure to produce the roster will result in a forfeit. 7v7 U9 and U10 U-9 - U-10 teams are allowed a maximum of 14 players (6 guest players). 8v8 U11 and U12 U-11 - U-12 teams are allowed a maximum of 14 players (6 guest players). 11v11 U13 thru U19 U-13 teams are allowed a maximum of 18 players (6 guest players) U-14 U-19 teams are allowed a maximum of 22 players (6 guest players). Teams with rosters of up to 22 players can only have 18 players dressed for each game in the tournament. The medical release does not have to be notarized and you can download a form if needed from the website. Permission to travel forms for all teams outside of Region 1 must be presented at team registration. A player may be rostered to play on only one team during the duration of this tournament. Teams must receive tournament approval before submission of the tournament application to play up, play down or play in an age group of the opposite gender. Teams found to have violated this rule after the application deadline date may be disqualified without refund. Team representatives will present credentials at the online check-in held before the tournament. Online check-in will be available once a team is accepted through August 28, The tournament headquarters and Friday night check in will be held at The Discovery Sports Center, MD SoccerPlex, Central Park Circle, Boyds, MD Friday registration starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. 13

15 GENERAL All tournament matches will be played in accordance with The Laws of the Game as issued by FIFA except as modified in the Tournament Rules. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY The tournament is limited to the following ages U-9 (August 1, 2005), U-10 (August 1, 2004), U-11 (August 1, 2003), U-12 (August 1, 2002), U-13 (August 1, 2001), U-14 (August 1, 2000), U-15 (August 1, 1999), U-16 (August 1, 1998), U-17 (August 1, 1997), U-18 (August 1, 1996), U-19 (August 1, 1995) The Tournament Committee reserves the right to combine age groups if necessary. REGION 1 TRAVEL POLICY Region I has established the following policy concerning permission to travel when attending US Youth Soccer sanctioned tournaments in Region I. The purpose of this policy is to make it as simple as possible for the US Youth Soccer Region I teams to travel to tournaments within Region I. Teams from outside Region 1 must provide permission to travel forms signed by their association. The new policy states that any US Youth Soccer State Association teams within Region I that is accepted into a tournament in Region I do not need permission to travel papers. Permission to Travel is not required in friendly games within Region 1. PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED SPACES DEPOSIT ALL TRASH IN GARBAGE CANS PROVIDED PROTESTS-DISPUTES All decisions of the referee are final and binding. The Tournament Director reserves the right to decide on all matters relative to the tournament and their decisions are final. The Tournament Director reserves the right to make the following changes in the event of inclement weather: Relocate and/or reschedule a match Reduce scheduled duration of a match Change division structure Cancel a match Cancel any or all games Cancel the Tournament due to inclement weather Under no circumstances whatsoever will the Tournament Director, Maryland Rush Montgomery Soccer Club, Damascus Soccer Club, Alliance Soccer Club, Maryland Soccer Foundation or any official sponsor, or MSYSA be responsible for expenses (including tournament entry fee) incurred by any team. This includes a situation where the tournament or any game(s) is cancelled in whole or part. INCLEMENT WEATHER In the event of inclement weather forcing play to be halted and preventing the match from completing during the scheduled time, the score shall stand if at least one-half of the game has been played. In the case of matches halted prior to the completion of at least one half, the Tournament Director reserves the right to declare the match final thereby counting the score at the time the match was halted. Regardless of weather conditions, teams and coaches must be at the game site and ready to play at the time as scheduled. Failure to appear will result in forfeiture of the game. The Maryland SoccerPlex has a lighting detection system. All teams must adhere to the lighting detection policy/warnings.

17 WITHDRAWAL POLICY Applied Teams Withdraw before Acceptance: Teams withdrawing from the event before acceptances are issued via , will be issued a full tournament refund. The tournament is not responsible for any hotel or additional costs incurred by the team. Accepted Teams Withdraw after Acceptance: Payment must be received in full before a team will be accepted Teams withdrawing from the event after being accepted will not be refunded. CANCELLATION POLICY If the tournament is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, there is no guarantee of refunds. REFEREES All referees will be USSF certified. A one-man system will be used for all U-09 - U-12 small sided. A three-man system will be used for all U-12 through U-19 games. SIDELINES Coaches and players will share the same side of the field as designated by the field marshal. All spectators will take up a position on the OPPOSITE side of the field during the time that the match is in progress. Coaches, players and spectators for all participating teams must remain on their respective sides of the field during the time of the match. Behavior of spectators associated with the team remains the responsibility of the coach. The referee and field marshal are authorized to remove any spectator whose behavior, in their opinion, interferes with the play of the game. On small sided games being played on grass fields, coaches, players and spectators will occupy the same side of the field. The will be no coaches, players or spectators permitted in between grass fields. No coaching will be permitted within 18 yards of the goal line or behind the goal line. Coaches, players or spectators are not permitted to stand behind the goal line at any time during the time the match is in progress. Only coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and players listed on the approved team roster will be permitted on the player s side of the field during each game. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted at any tournament site; violators will be subject to criminal prosecution.

18 START OF PLAY The home team is responsible for providing a person other than the coach or assistant coach to be the field marshal. The field marshal will sit on the player s side of the field by the team bench. A walkie talkie and scorebook will be located on the bench for the field marshal to retrieve. A U12 U19 team that cannot field seven (7) players at the scheduled start time of a match shall forfeit the match. A U-09 - U-11 small sided team, which cannot field five (5) players at the scheduled start time of a match, shall forfeit the match. Any team forfeiting the match shall be declared the loser. The score of a forfeited match shall be recorded as 3-0 in favor of the team receiving the forfeit. If there is no referee present at the starting time of the scheduled start time, the field marshal will contact tournament HQ. Player passes and roster must be present at the field for the duration of every game. Games balls will be provided by the teams. Each team will be given one ball prior to the tournament. The home team is responsible for providing the game ball. PLAYER EQUIPMENT Shoes must meet FIFA specification. All players must wear shin-guards. Casts will be allowed: If they are well padded in foam or other protective material. AND the player with the cast does not attempt to use it to an advantage or to harm other players, AND the referee approves the cast. In the event of a uniform conflict the HOME team must change. The Home Team is listed first on the schedule. BALL SIZE U-12 and younger Size 4 U-13 and older Size 5

19 DURATION OF MATCHES ALL MATCHES WILL START ON TIME. The duration of halves is listed below. The interval between halves shall be five (5) minutes. The referee is the official timekeeper of the match. During the preliminary matches there will be no injury time allowed. U9-U12 will play two 25 minutes halves with 5 minute halftime. U13 - U14 Two (2) 30 minute halves with five (5) minutes half-time U15 U16 Two (2) 35 minute halves with five (5) minutes half-time U17, U18 & U19 Two (2) 40 minute halves with five (5) minutes half-time. U9 and U10 will play small-sided games 7v7 U11 and U12 will play small-sided games 8v8 U13 U19 will play 11v11 TOURNAMENT OVERTIME All preliminary games will remain a tie. In semi-final and final matches, if regulation play ends in a tie score, the following steps will be taken: 1. Two five-minute overtime periods-the entire 10 minutes must be played. 2. If still tied after ten minutes, the tie will be broken by penalty kicks in accordance with FIFA tiebreaker rules. Only the players on the field at the end of regulation will be eligible to participate in penalty kick procedure. The players from each team must stay on the field of play and will meet at the center at the end of the game. Captains will meet for the coin toss to decide who kicks first. Referee decides which goal will be used. SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions can be made at any stoppage with the permission of the referee. DIVISION STANDINGS Division standings will be decided by the following point system: Win +3 points Tie +1 point Loss +0 points

20 TOURNAMENT TIE BREAKERS (Determination of wild cards, first and second place winners) Total points ties within divisions and/or brackets will be broken by the following tiebreakers in order: 1. The team that has given the least number of forfeits advances. 2. Head to head competition during the tournament of the two teams tied. (Disregard if more than two teams are tied NEVER revert back to this tiebreaker if more than two teams are tied.) 3. Goals Against (Least Goals Allowed) 4. Team with the highest goal differential. A maximum differential of three (3) goals per match will be counted. 5. Most wins 6. Goals for (Total Goals Scored) 7. Most shutouts 8. Least Red Cards 9. Least Yellow Cards 10. If still tied after steps 1 through 9, both teams will proceed to an available field, at a time and place directed by the Tournament Director, and take penalty kicks in accordance with FIFA tie breaker rules. TIE BREAKER CLARIFICATION Once a criterion is used to determine the tiebreaker, teams must continue to the next criteria and may not revert back. Example: Step 1: Three teams each have 6 team points. A is winner over B, B over C and C over A. Three teams are tied so #2 above (head-to-head) is disregarded. Step 2: Team A has allowed 7 goals. B and C have each allowed 5 goals. Therefore A is eliminated. Step 3: You DO NOT revert back to #2 (head-to-head); the next criteria considered is #4 (goal differential) to determine winner between B and C. etc. WARNINGS EJECTIONS If a player is ejected from a match red card or two yellow cards in the same match by the referee the player must sit out the remainder of that match plus his team s next tournament match. No substitution will be made for the ejected player during the match that the red card was issued. Two yellow cards to the same player in the same match equal a red card and will result in immediate ejection from that match. Coaches in receipt of a red or two yellow cards in the same match are subject to the same penalties as outlined above for players. A coach ejected from a match will not be allowed in the vicinity of the field for the remainder of that match and for his team s next match.

21 Coaches are responsible for their players, parents and guests on the sideline. No team or club official may enter the field of play regardless of the circumstances unless that person has been given permission to enter the field of play by the referee. Because of the seriousness of such instances, red cards issued after the end of regulation play or as a result of physical assault are subject to review by the Tournament Director and more strenuous penalty, which is not subject to appeal, may be employed. AWARDS There will be individual trophies for players of 1 st and medals for 2 nd place teams. Team patch exchanges are encouraged. PROBLEMS/QUESTIONS In the event of a problem, or if a team has a question about the tournament, they should first check with the field marshal at their respective field location. The field marshal will check periodically with the Tournament Headquarters and can handle most problems. The tournament Director will ultimately decide all issues not resolved on the field locations. Decision of the Tournament Director is final.
