5 ABB lights up the brightest building in Abu Dhabi Yas Marina hotel ABB technology is making each stay a uniquely comfortable experience for guests at the 499 room Yas Marina Hotel, built directly over the circuit of the world s first day and night F1 ABB i-bus KNX is proven to deliver double digit energy savings in residential and industrial applications The iconic looks of the hotel are due to the 5,000 panels of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that cloak the gridshell, all intelligently managed by ABB s i-bus -KNX technology The special atmosphere in the guest rooms is created by a smart control system that enable guests to select from a variety of scenarios for automatically adjusting the lighting, position of curtains, air conditioning even security options Return to success slide October 19, 2015 Slide 5

6 22% energy saving at world s largest independent Khaleej sugar refinery ABB has boosted production capacity of refined sugar by 1000 tons per day with energy savings of 22% at Al Khaleej Sugar An upgrade of the design, engineering and supply of ABB variable frequency drives has increased the production capacity by 20% ABB drives, offer application specific functionality, control for different types of motors as well as flexible connectivity to automation networks. They include low voltage AC and DC drives and medium voltage AC drives This drive system comprises of three parallel operated Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) supply units and 14 inverters to run ABB premium efficiency motors.
