4 1 Flue systems 1.1 Flue systems The following requirements regrding design nd instlltion pply to flue systems f ondensing omustion equipment: Pri to strting wk on the flue system, your heting ontrt should onfer with the responsile flue gs inspet [where pplile]. Gs omustion equipment must e onneted to the domesti himney on the sme flo where it is instlled (no trnsition through seprting eilings). Here, differentition is required s to whether the ondensing oiler should e instlled in the living spe (oupied rooms) in the nonliving spe (instlltion room). Struturl unit The fementioned onditions re generlly met when E-designted flue systems (essies) re used together with the Vitodens. Outside the living spe, the flue pipe in the instlltion room my lso e routed without seondry ventiltion. However, the instlltion room would then require n dequtely sized ventiltion ir perture to the outside (. to TRGI 008). Rted heting output up to 50 kw: 150 m 75 m Rted heting output ove 50 kw (e.g. Vitodens 00-W, from 60 kw, multi oiler systems): 150 m plus m f eh kw ove 50 kw The ountry-speifi regultions (whih my inlude the TR Gs nd ÖVGW guidelines) pply to the instlltion of this ppline. The plin flue must e type pproved y the Deutshes Institut für Butehnik (DIBt) [Germny] (open flue opertion). With this type of equipment (exept 6x ) there is joint pprovl f the Vitodens nd lned flue system. F this type of onstrution the tightness test (overpressure test) y the flue gs inspet during ommissioning nd the verifition of "Generl Building Regultions pprovl" y the DIBt my e omitted. Any pproved flue system n e used f type 6x. This flue system is not tested together with the oilers. Mintin the dimensions speified on pges 1 to. The omustion ir is supplied nd the flue gs extrted through one onentri oxil pipe (lned flue system). The omustion ir is supplied through the nnulr gp etween the externl luminium ventiltion ir pipe nd the flue pipe. Flue gses re dishrged through the internl plsti pipe (PPs). F lned flue systems tested together with the wll mounted gs oiler there is no requirement f tightness test during ommissioning y the flue gs inspet. In suh ses we reommend tht your heting ontrt rries out simple tightness test during the ommissioning of your system. F this, it is suffiient to hek the O onentrtion in the omustion ir t the nnulr gp of the lned flue pipe. The flue pipe is deemed to e gs-tight if the O onentrtion in the omustion ir is no higher thn 0. % the O onentrtion is t lest 0.6 %. hek the flue system f tightness y pressure testing if higher O lower O vlues re estlished. In onjuntion with the onentri oxil pipe (lned flue system), the surfe temperture of the Vitodens tht of the lned flue system will never exeed 85. Therefe, lernes to omustile omponents ding to TRGI re not required. F oiler types 6x nd 4x, the DIBt-pproved flue pipes from Viessmnn lterntive DIBt-pproved flue pipes y other mnufturers my e used. Use ondenste trp ove the oiler flue onnetion if luminium flue pipes re used. Instll the onneting pipes (routed hizontlly) with fll of t lest to the oiler. When instlling the Vitodens in sement on lower flo, n existing himney shft of dequte size my e used f the lned flue opertion (type 4x nd 9x ). Ading to TRGI 008, flues tht ridge severl flos must e routed inside shft with fire rting of t lest 90 minutes, nd f uildings in tegies 1 nd, fire rting of t lest 0 minutes. The flue gs/ventiltion ir is routed to the himney shft in lned flue. The flue pipe is then routed inside the himney shft to ove the roof. Where no suitle shft is ville, the flue my e routed to the roof through retrofitted shft. F this shft, Building Regultions test ertifite E designtion responding to the design of the shft is required. In ddition, the shft must hve fire rting of L0 L Open flue opertion (Type B nd B ) The flue gs is routed through single wll plsti flue pipes (PPs). The flue system is E-designted nd pproved in dne with EN (see pge 6). The omustion ir supply is ensured vi the nnulr gp etween the flue pipe nd the ventiltion ir inlet on the oiler flue onnetion of the Vitodens. Instll the onneting pipes (routed hizontlly) with fll of t lest to the oiler. In ddition, we reommend using lips sped out 1 m prt to suppt the onnetion pipe. 1.4 Flue gs high limit sfety ut-out Ading to E designtion to EN the plsti flue pipe (PPs) n e used f flue gs tempertures of up to 10 (type B). Mesures inside the equipment ensure tht the flue gs temperture will never exeed 90. A flue gs high limit sfety ut-out is therefe not required. 1.5 Lightning protetion If lightning protetion system is instlled, ny metlli flue system should e inluded in the lightning protetion sheme. Shfts tht were previously onneted to oil solid fuel oilers must e thoughly lened y himney sweep. Loose deposits of sulphur nd soot must not remin on the inside of the himney. Running lned flue pipe through the shft is then not required. If though lening is impossile, if hlide deposits re present if the shft is silted up, seprte lned flue n e used inside the shft. lose off nd sel ny other onnetion pertures with pproprite mterils. This does not pply to ny lening inspetion pertures tht re provided with himney lening overs nd tht re identified with n pproprite test mrk. hek pri to instlltion whether the shft runs stright from top to ottom if it is offset (hek with mirrs). If the himney is offset, we reommend instlling flexile flue pipe (see pge 17). The flue system must e routed to ove the roof (protrusion ove the roof ding to lol regultions). Alterntive E-designted flue pipes my e used, f exmple if lrger flue pipe dimeter is required, i.e. f greter flue lengths. The perfmne verifition to EN 184 should then e provided y the respetive flue mnufturer. If flue pipes other thn those offered s essies (whih re pproved with the Vitodens s single struturl unit) re used, the flue system must e heked f tightness y the flue gs inspet pri to ommissioning. In dne with the flue system pprovl ertifite, this my e rried out y mesuring the O O vlue inside the nnulr gp. If this test results in O ontent ove 0. % n O ontent lower thn 0.6 %, hek the flue system f tightness.
