1 GET TO KNOW OUR WONDERFUL SUMMER CAMP TEACHERS! SUMMER 2015 We have a wonderful group of teachers this year! You will be amazed at the diverse education and experience that our teachers bring to your students. The list is alphabetical by last name, so please scroll down to find the name of your child s teacher. We look forward to a great summer experience with you. Remember, we always want to hear from you so tell us about your experience! Jamekia Alexander: My name is Jamekia Alexander and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with your child. This week will be filled with lots of fun, curiosity and excitement! I am currently a Pre K teacher in Roswell, GA and I have been teaching for 7 years. I have a M.A. degree in early childhood education from Mercer University. Although this will be my first summer with Imagine That! and future Tech, I do have previous experience working with summer camps and young scholars aged I love working with youth and I m looking forward to a wonderful week! Marlon Alfaro: My name is Marlon Alfaro and I'm excited to be your child's teacher this coming week of summer camp! I have a B.A. in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida, and I am working towards a M.Ed at John Hopkins University. Currently, I am a science and math educator at a middle school. This will be my first year with Imagine That! I am ecstatic to join the team and teach at the camps this summer. Latifa Awad: Hello! My name is Latifa Awad, and I am looking forward to being your child s teacher this coming week of summer camp! I am currently seeking a Bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University with a concentration in ESOL and teacher certification in PreK-5th. I have a passion for science and education, and I am excited to be working with your child this summer! Joan Baker: I graduated from the University of GA and hold degrees in Sociology, a T-4 in Education, BA in German, and I am almost finished with my MFA. I started teaching art when my daughter was at Little River. I was in charge of the Art Start program and was the art chairperson for the PTA. This was when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching art, and how easily I could show children how to draw and paint. I started working for Imagine That! twelve years ago. Frank Bryant: Hi, my name is Frank Bryant, and I am looking forward to teaching your child this summer! I have a couple of Physics degrees & a MBA from Georgia Tech. I have been teaching and tutoring for many years, I mentor a top-tier FIRST robotics team, and I taught after school classes for Imagine That this past school year. I invented and patented a robotic medical device and formed a company to design, test, and build the prototype. This is obviously a passion of mine, and I am excited for the chance to help get your child interested in technology & science! Cassidy Cain: (Sales & Marketing Manager and Teacher at Imagine That!) Hi! I am a graduate of the Outdoor Education Program at Georgia College and State University. I specialized in Early Childhood Education to focus my passion for teaching children. Through this degree I gained the techniques and
2 knowledge necessary to merge my passion for the outdoors and teaching. This will be my 7 th summer teaching for Imagine That! and I m looking forward to another awesome summer! Kyle Chibani: Hello my name is Kyle Chibani, and I am happy to be your child's teacher for this week! I have a Bachelors of Health Science from Armstrong State University. I have taught summer camp for 2 years through the YMCA, and I'm excited to join Imagine That! and Future Tech this summer. I love science, sports, and technology! Nick Chmura: My name is Nick Chmura and I am super excited to be your child's teacher this coming week of summer camp! I am an undergraduate physics student at Georgia College and State University. This is my first summer at Imagine That, but not my first year summer as a camp counselor. I love teaching other people about science and technology and I can't wait to work with your child this summer! Crissy Clouse: (Art Manager and Teacher at Imagine That!) My name is Crissy Clouse and I am very excited to be teaching your child s camp this summer! I have a BFA in Art Education from the University of Georgia and am extremely passionate about teaching children how exciting art can be. I have been teaching art classes for the past three years and have been making art ever since I was a toddler! I have enjoyed teaching Imagine That s science and technology after school classes this year and I am very excited to start my second year of summer camps! I look forward to the exciting times teaching your children! Mitchell (Kip) Eller: My name is Kip Eller and I'll be teaching your child s summer camp next week. Formerly an educator and digital puppeteer at the Georgia Aquarium, I have a love for both teaching and programming. Minecraft is one of my favorite games and I'm thankful for the chance to use it as an educational tool. I can't wait to show your child how much fun coding can be! Kelly Gandy: Hello! My name is Kelly Gandy and this is my first summer teaching with Imagine That! and Future Tech. I'm very excited about what this next week will bring! I graduated from Auburn University in 2014 with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and in May finished up my first year of pharmacy school at Auburn. I was a Science Olympiad coach for 3 years for 4th and 5th graders, and a swim coach and swim instructor for 5 summers. All that to say, your children will be in good hands, learn a lot, and have a ton of fun along the way! Viki Gleissner: My name is Viki Gleissner and this summer will be an exciting time for your child and myself! I have a B.A. in early childhood education with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. I have been teaching elementary grades for the past 4 years and am currently a second grade teacher in Barrow County. I have also been a camp counselor with ages ranging from I love learning and inspiring those around me to dive into new subjects and fun science activities. I look forward to teaching summer camps this year and learning with your child! Mandy Goodwin: My name is Mandy Goodwin, and I am a new teacher to Imagine That! and Future Tech. I just graduated with a Master's degree from University of Georgia. I am of a lover of activities that are messy and fun - painting, crafting, hiking, gardening. I can't wait to spend this week with your child growing their brain and imagination. Ashley Greenlee: Hello! My name is Ashley Greenlee and I am looking forward to being your child's summer camp instructor for the week! I hold a B.S. in Psychology and am now working on my M.A.T in
3 Middle Grades Education. Since graduating from undergrad I have worked as a TA/After School instructor for schools within the St. Louis and Chicago Metro Area. I truly believe in the value of education and keeping a child's mind engaged all year round. So, I am very excited about being a part of an organization like Imagine That! where children are given the opportunity to explore their interest. See you soon! Sara Grover: (Supply Manager and Teacher at Imagine That!) Hello, my name is Sara Grover and I am really excited to be your child s summer camp teacher! I have a B.A. in both Physics and Mathematics from Southern Polytechnic State University and this is my second year teaching at Imagine That! and Future Tech. I am looking forward to sharing my passion for science and technology with your kids and helping them see that science is fun! Jennifer Hawe: Hi, my name is Jenifer Hawe and I will have the pleasure of teaching your child this summer. I have a degree in Health Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from Georgia College & State University, and am currently finishing my M.E.d. in Kinesiology. I have tutored in all subjects (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies) the past three years grades K-12. I am passionate about teaching, especially science courses. This is my second summer working with Imagine That! and I am eager to meet and work with your child this summer! Emy Imoh: My name is Emy Imoh, and I'm excited to be your child's teacher this summer! I have a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Theatre with a concentration in Set Design. I have a passion for science and art, and see them as two sides of the same coin. One helps you learn about the world, and the other takes what you know and invents something new! This is my fourth summer teaching for Imagine That! and Future Tech, and I look forward to meeting you! Samantha Johnson: (Administrative Assistant and Teacher at Imagine That!) My name is Samantha Johnson and I am looking forward to teaching your child this summer! I graduated from Albany State University in 2012 with a B.A. in English and Professional Writing. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education, I love teaching! I have been a mentor and tutor for years and take on an energetic approach to education. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you as well as your children! Karen Kegel: Hello family! My name is Karen and I'm currently working on a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech after having spent three years at Covenant College in Chattanooga, TN. While studying and gaming are frequent pass times, I've been working with and tutoring kids since high school! This is my first year with Imagine That! and Future Tech, and I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to work with your kids teaching basic programming and science. I love science, technology, Minecraft, and working with kids, and I hope to make your child just as pumped about this week as I am! Melissa Odom: Hip Hip Hooray for Imagine That! Camp! Welcome, campers and families! I am Melissa Odom, your camp counselor for Make It and Bake it! I am delighted to welcome you to an engaging and fun camp experience! For over 10 years, I have guided children in the thrill of learning more about themselves and the world around them as a camp counselor, teacher and tutor. This will be my fourth summer with Imagine That! In my spare time, I love reading, hiking, baking and creating cupcake masterpieces. I look forward to meeting each one of you and baking tasty creations of our own! Franklin Pazmino: I'm Franklin Pazmino and I'm currently studying Computer Science at Georgia State University. When I'm not in class I m often fiddling with Android and computer programs. I spent
4 countless hours in middle and high school daydreaming about taking the very classes that I'm excited to teach for Imagine That! this summer! Tarana Ramey: My name is Tarana Ramey and although I am not new to Imagine That!, this will be my first time teaching summer camp and I am super excited for this opportunity! I am a certified educator with a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in Journalism from Georgia State University. Prior to teaching I was heavily involved in volunteer work with students, from coaching to mentoring, across the metro Atlanta area. I especially love teaching math, science and technology to students of all ages!!! Nick Radivoj: My name is Nick Radivoj and I'm ecstatic for the opportunity to be your child's teacher this upcoming week! I am currently working on getting a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama. This will be my first summer as a teacher for Imagine That! and Future Tech and I can't wait to share my love of math and science with your child throughout the camp! Austin Schultz: My name is Austin Schultz. I have been with Imagine That! for almost 13 years now. I am a product of the program. My mother used to be the manager and a teacher for Imagine That! so guess where I spent my summers! I have been an assistant at Imagine That! for the past 5 summers and I know every subject we teach! This will be my third year teaching summer camps, and I can confidently say that your children are going to have a blast and learn a great deal about science and technology! I am currently attending the University of Georgia in pursuit of a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Ben Seiden: Hello All! My name is Ben Seiden and I can t wait to work with your children this summer. This will be my 7th summer working at Imagine That! and Future Tech, and before that I was a camper. Currently, I am pursuing a physics/ pre-engineering degree at Georgia College and State University with plans to transfer to Georgia Tech. I love science and technology, so this is the perfect job for me. I can't wait to meet you all this summer! Katie Smith: Hello! My name is Katie Smith and I am looking forward to teaching your child s camp this week! I have my BA in Biology/Chemistry from New College of Florida and I just graduated with my Master of Science in Public Health from Emory University. I m starting veterinary school in August at UGA, and I m excited to spend my summer getting children excited about learning and science! Elena Sparacio: My name is Elena Sparacio and I am looking forward to being your child s teacher this upcoming week of summer camp! I am a College Fellow at Elon University, where I am currently working towards receiving a Bachelor's degree in English and Computer Science because I love to write novels and write code. When I'm home, I like to spend my spare time riding and training horses. I am very excited to be part of Imagine That!'s team this year! Michael Stolzle: (Supply Assistant and Teacher at Imagine That!) My passions perfectly align with Imagine That! s interdisciplinary nature and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for the arts, sciences, and technology with your child! I have a B.A. in Biology and an M.A. in Philosophy and have many years of experience working with students of all ages.. Most recently, I served as an Interpretation Ranger at a National Park in California, and prior to that I served two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer where I worked in Botswana to promote youth empowerment. I can t wait to see what your child and I learn from each other during our time together!
5 Clarke Swiedler: (Curriculum Development at Imagine That!) My name is Clarke Swiedler and I am excited to be your child's Minecraft Programming teacher this summer! I have several years' experience with programming and robotics and love helping kids learn about science and how to make computers work for them! I thoroughly enjoyed developing the R11 and R12 curricula and look forward to implementing our advanced version this summer! Theresa Williams: Technology Manager and Teacher at Imagine That! The students address me as Ms. Theresa. I have been working for Imagine That! since May of 2010 as a teacher and I also work full time as the Technology Manager. In the past I partnered up with a friend and started a business called "Fit Kidz", which specialized in bringing sports and games to day care centers in Cherokee and Cobb counties. I attended Columbus State University, Area Schools of Real Estate, and am now attending Kennesaw University for nursing. I realized a love of working with children through "Fit Kidz" and am continuously amazed that you can see a child learn through the expressions on their faces. It's very gratifying! Amanda Zubrowski: My name is Amanda Zubrowski and I am thrilled to be part of the Imagine That! Summer camp team this year! I just recently received my MA in Professional Writing, and hold my B.S in Communication, both from Kennesaw State University. This is my second year as a camp instructor; I have also been an English teacher at KSU for the past 3 years, and this year I was an English tutor and Creative Writing instructor at an after school program. I look forward to bringing my excitement for education to another amazing summer filled of fun here at Imagine That!
