1 Dear Colleague, We are inviting you to the 4 th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED PROTOCOLS IN ORAL IMPLANTOLOGY Antalya / Turkey, April, 20 23, th International Symposium on Advanced Protocols in Oral Implantology and to inform you about the dates for the forthcoming meeting in Antalya, Turkey. 2 It is now necessary to call for abstracts due to the topics from those wishing to present a paper or a poster at the symposium. Following past practice, we ask that the final decision regarding method of presentation be left to the organising group, in order to compete a coherent and interesting program. We regard both forms of presentation to be of equal standing. We are enclosing: 1. A proforma, asking for details of the proposed presentation, and including an opportunity to express a preference for verbal ( 50 minutes for keynote and 10 minutes for scientific paper) presentation, or poster. 2. Guidelines for abstract preperation. 3. An abstract form. Please note that abstracts will be computerised for printing the conference book, and must follow the standard size and format. The organising commitee will meet very early in March, 2012, so that we must receive abstracts by February 20, 2012 (to submit abstracts, please use ). 4 4th International Symposium on Advanced Protocols in Oral Implantology Introductions to Contributions (Oral Presentation and Posters) Every presenter may submit only one abstract and present only one paper at the symposium, but can appear as a co-author on two further abstracts. The summaries of oral presentations and posters accepted for the forthcoming Symposium on Advanced Protocols in Oral Implantology will be published in the congress book. Collegues submitting a contribution for consideration by the Scientific Committee must prepare their summary in the standard format detailed below. Submission of the summary will be taken to imply that it is original and unpublished. The manuscript must be in English, typewritten on one side of the blank Abstract Paper enclosed, be spaced as shown at the left column of the Abstract form, and bear the title of the paper, and the name of each author, together with the name of the institution to which they are attached. The presenter name should be marked by an asterix. The summary must be written using the given characters as well as the degree and size of types (Arial 11). The text should consist of an informative summary (maximum 250 words) without the use of illustrations or tables. The abstract should include sections covering the aims of the investigation, the methods employed and the results and conclusions (conclusions underlined). References listed must be only those regarded as essential to the abstract and must be given in full, in the style of the Index Medicus.(for poster presenters) 4

7 REGULATIONS REGARDING PRESENTATIONS All meeting participants must pay the registration fee. You must be knowledgeable in your subject and answer questions after your presentation. All presentations must be given in English and related with Adin Dental Implant Systems. If you are oral and poster presenter at this meeting, do not repeat oral material in your poster presentation. Presenters who fail to present accepted papers may not submit papers for the next meeting, unless acceptable explanations are provided to the APOI board in writing prior to April 1, 2012 the start of the meeting (DO NOT notify the Session chairman or co-chairman). Presenters who are dependent on government or institutional funding must ensure that such funds are avaible prior to submitting the abstract, or be prepared to participate in the meeting at their own expense. After the Program Book is printed (April, 1, 2012)your paper cannot be withdrawn or changed. Presenters should mention in the presentation the sponsor of their research if applicable. INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED Compute projection is provided. Please, use Power Point last edition if working with CD alone. All text must be written in English and the letters must have a height of at least 24 pts, on PowerPoint, A4, Legal or Executive format. Avoid more than 30 words on one Power Point projection or more than 20 words on one slide! Include titles to supplement, not dublicate, picture data. Use dublicate pictures to refer to the same picture at different times during your talk. It is impractical to search for and reshow your pictures. GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PRESENTERS You have (10) minutes for your presentation and ample time for the discussion during the following round table session. The session chairperson will hold you to this time and will switch off the microphone after the time available for your presentation (see above). Cover the same material as reported in the abstract. Give an opening statement to acquaint the audience with the nature and purpose of the study. Briefly describe procedures and materials. Define all trade names first, following this, use generic names throughout. All compounds and drugs must be identified. Allocate most of the presentation time to the result of the study. State the results simply and clearly so that significant facts can be readily identified. Conclude the presentation with a brief summary of the essential results you believe were demonstrated by the experimental data. Stay in the session room for the round table discussion after the series of presentations you belong to. 7

8 INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PREPARATION Facilities: The poster presentation area will be equipped with tables on which posters can be attached using push-pins or stickers. For that purpose a maximum poster area of 1.50 m widht, 1.00 m height and the posters must be 90cm widht, 70 cm height will be provided. The poster should be available for display early in the conference period, altrough the poster session itself will be on time scheduled in the program. All posters must be written in English and must contain: title, author(s), institution, company, university to which they belong. Use a clear arrangement of your poster. Therefore, letters must have a height of at least 32 pts. The committee would recommend strongly that you also bring all supply of copies of the poster, on a reduced scale, for distribution to the participants during the poster session. The poster frames are standard and numbered according to reference date.
