1 Application Procedures for CCM Paper Application for Electronic Media beginning Fall 2016 Who should use this application form? Current UC students, prospective students who already used UC Online Apply to apply for a non-ccm major, or in other special circumstances. We encourage you to schedule an appointment to tour the Electronic Media facilities and observe some classes. Contact CCM Admissions at or ccmadmis@uc.edu to schedule an appointment. We also encourage you to visit the divisional Web site at and familiarize yourself with the curriculum before you apply. Application Instructions: Complete the CCM Paper Application, CCM Addendum and return with your application fee in the form of a check for $60 payable to CCM Admissions (no cash accepted). Use the 4 digit EMED for Electronic Media on the application. Applicants must submit a video essay (no longer than 2 minutes) to getacceptd.com/ccm that addresses the following 3 questions: 1.) What is it specifically about the Electronic Media program at CCM that interests you? 2.) Why you are passionate about producing stories through electronic media? 3.) What qualities do you possess, beyond a GPA and standardized test score that you believe will make you successful in our program and as a future media professional? Applicants should be encouraged to attach links to media content (video, audio, web or writing examples) that represent their current engagement with media storytelling and production. Please upload all materials to getacceptd.com/ccm no later than December 1 st. After pre-screenings are reviewed, faculty may select applicants for an interview. Two letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or similarly qualified individuals. Personal and professional qualifications should be emphasized. Ask recommender to include your full name and birth date in the letter. Your application must be complete before it can be reviewed. Deadline is Dec. 1, Note that an Apple Macbook Pro laptop and subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud service is required of accepted students. We appreciate your interest in our program. The Electronic Media Division aims to prepare creative and passionate students for a career in the highly competitive media production industry. It is our goal that every graduate of Electronic Media will possess a balanced skill set in audio, video and new media production as well as excellent writing skills. Our students are given the opportunity to individualize their educational experience in the final two years by: Completing elective courses that provide greater expertise in one production area Completing a minor/certificate program that complements the major Completing 6-hours of internship credit that provides additional experiential learning in your chosen specialty area. If you have already accumulated a substantial number of credits at UC, we want you to be aware that it is possible that some of your credits may not apply toward the Electronic Media degree. Moreover, you may be required to take some freshman and sophomore level pre-requisites before advancing to our upper-level production courses. Combined, these issues may extend the time it takes to complete your degree, so research our program thoroughly prior to applying so that you are sure your passion lies within this particular course of study. Also be aware that the Electronic Media Division requires each of our students to possess an Apple MacBook Pro when they enter our program. This investment allows you to extend the classroom and laboratory beyond the walls of CCM.
