3 Flights: Due to the fact that so many of our clients choose to book their flights on points, Uniworld Travel is unable to block group seats. We are however happy to make your flight arrangements should you require assistance and to arrange airport transfers for arrival in or in Beijing should you choose the pre-tour. The fare from Toronto to China at time of printing is very reasonable but changes from day to day. If you plan on booking your own flights based on our group dates, please arrange for a March 20th departure from North America in order to arrive in on March 21st. Your departure from will be on March 30th. If you choose to join us on the pre-tour, your departure for Beijing should be on March 15th for a March 16th arrival. Should you join us on the post-tour, your departure will be from on April 3rd. Documentation for China: A Chinese Visa along with a valid passport is required by Canadian and U.S. citizens for entry into China. Nationals of other countries should contact Uniworld Travel & Tours Inc. to check their entry requirements. Passports must be valid for 6 months following your return date of travel. Uniworld Travel will be able to co-ordinate the visa process for Canadian Nationals only and this will start approximately 3 months prior to departure. The cost for visa processing is $ per person. After breakfast the group will depart on a full-day city tour of Beijing including a visit to Tian An Men Square where Mao Tse Tung first raised the flag of the People's Republic. We will tour the Imperial Palace, also referred to as the Forbidden City along with its gardens and also explore the winding streets that surround the Forbidden City by Pedicab and on foot. Our group will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to visit with a local family and watch the daily routines of the local people in their courtyard homes. Dinner and remainder of your evening are at leisure. Wednesday, March 18 This morning after breakfast, we will depart for the much anticipated visit to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China, built over 2,000 years ago by Emperor Qin. The Great Wall stretches over 6,000 km across the top of China! In the afternoon, enroute to Beijing city, enjoy the opportunity to drive-by the 2008 Olympic site including the Water Cube and Bird's Nest Stadium. This evening, the group will enjoy a Peking Duck dinner in a local restaurant. The remainder of your evening is at leisure. Thursday, March 19 Friday, March 20 After breakfast, our group will be transferred to Beijing airport for a flight to Xi'an in Shaanxi Province. Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to the Grand Mercure Hotel or similar. In the afternoon, we will meet to take a walk through the Muslim quarter and visit the Great Mosque. This evening enjoy a Tang Dynasty dinner followed by a visit to the ancient city wall. This morning, after breakfast, we will depart on a full-day excursion to some of Xi'an's ancient monuments highlighted by the Grand Mausoleum of Qin Emperor Shi Huang Di, the first emperor of China. Protecting the emperor's mausoleum are the famous 6,000 life size terra cotta warriors and horses. Next the group will enjoy a delicious dumpling lunch. Afterwards we will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was originally built as a Buddhist retreat in the 7th century. Dinner and balance of evening at leisure.
4 Saturday, March 21 After breakfast, the group will depart for Xi'an airport and our flight to. Upon arrival in, the group will be met and transferred to the JW Marriott Hotel at Tomorrow Square. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore your new surroundings. Itinerary for World Championship Tour, March 21-30, 2015: Friday, March 20 Saturday, March 21 Sunday, March 22 Monday, March 23 Tuesday, March 24 March Sunday, March 29 Monday, March 30 Depart your home city for, China. Arrival in and transfer to the JW Marriott Hotel at Tomorrow Square. Join us this evening for a welcome cocktail reception and catch up with old friends or meet new ones! Dinner and balance of evening at leisure. After breakfast, the group will depart for a full-day of touring in the cosmopolitan city of. Take in a visit to the Museum housing the city's priceless collection of bronzes, porcelain and paintings, and a visit to the beautiful Garden of Mandarin Yu Yuan and the bazaar nearby. Enjoy a stroll along the historical Bund waterfront lining the Huangpu River with unimpeded views of the modern Pudong skyline. Visit the World Financial Center for panoramic views of the city from the 100th floor! Our tour also includes lunch at a local restaurant and a visit to the impressive Jade Buddha Temple followed by a stroll in the French Concession. Dinner and the balance of your evening are at leisure. Today s experience will feature the charming canal city of Suzhou, once called the "Venice of the East". The highlights include the town s spectacular classical gardens including the Lion Grove Garden. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride on the Grand Canal. At the famous Embroidery Research Institute, learn why China has for generations been world famous for its fine exotic silk. Upon our return to, dinner and the balance of your evening is at leisure. Day at leisure. Tonight you may choose to join us on our optional 9pm Huangpu River Cruise. See the spectacular Pudong Skyline from the water! Return transfers from the hotel to the river boat are included in the cost. We will require at least 10 people to express interest before this can be confirmed. Finally the day we have been waiting for! The competition begins on Wednesday, March 25th and continues through to Saturday, March 28th. A short private coach transfer will take us to the Oriental Sports Center each day and return us to the hotel in the evening after the event or medal ceremony. The official skating schedule is usually confirmed approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the start of the event. We look forward to seeing great performances and personal best scores from all the skaters! This afternoon, we will enjoy the gala exhibition at the Oriental Sports Centre. This evening our group will experience a delicious farewell dinner, always a great send-off to an enjoyable week of skating. We have now reached the end of our tour! The morning will be at leisure to finish packing and prepare for the journey home. We truly hope that everyone has had an enjoyable experience on this trip. Have a pleasant journey home! Itinerary for Post-Worlds Tour, March 30 - April 3, 2015: Monday, March 30 Tuesday, March 31 After breakfast, the group will be transferred to airport for our flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza or similar. Dinner and balance of day at leisure. After breakfast we will depart on a full-day excursion to Leshan including lunch. Here we will see the incredible 8th century Giant Buddha carved out of the hillside overlooking the junction of 3 rivers. At 71 metres high, this Buddha is the largest in the world! Dinner and the balance of the day is at leisure.
5 Wednesday, April 1 After breakfast, the group will depart for a visit to the Chengdu Research Base for Giant Panda Breeding and a chance to see Pandas and other endangered animals up close. A visit to the Green Ram Temple is also on our agenda. In the afternoon, we will take the bullet train to Chongqing. Our suitcases will have been delivered to the hotel in Chongqing by luggage truck, leaving us with only our hand luggage to carry on to the train. Upon arrival in Chongqing, we will be transferred to the Hilton Hotel or similar. Dinner and balance of evening at leisure. Thursday, April 2 This morning after breakfast, we will visit the Dazu Stone Grotto, home to a superb rock carving 27 metres long. It has been designated by UNESCO as one of the world`s great cultural heritage sites. After lunch, we return to the hotel with a visit to the city of Ciqikou enroute. Dinner and balance of evening at leisure. Friday, April 3 We have now reached the end of our adventure! The group will transfer to the airport for our homeward journey. We truly hope that everyone has had an enjoyable experience on this trip and we look forward to welcoming you in the future. Have a pleasant journey home! 6 Responsibility: The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator, act only as agents for the various companies, owners or contractors providing the means of transportation, accommodations and other services pertaining to the trip. All exchange orders, coupons and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which such means of transportation, accommodation and other services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such tickets shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions. In the event the passenger does not possess the documentation required by the chosen destination, be aware that the carrier(s) reserve(s) the right to refuse the passenger(s) and no refund for unused portion(s) of the arrangements will be allowed.
