Please be advised that although SPA will make every effort to offer courses as scheduled, occasionally the rotation plan is modified due to eternal circumstances. Core Courses: These courses are required for the MPA degree. All core courses, and nearly all electives, should be completed before registering for PUAD 5361, Capstone Seminar. The Capstone Seminar should be taken in the student s final semester. 2 Last modified March 28, Required Concentration Courses: The following courses are required for students electing a concentration. If you have declared a concentration, check with your concentration advisor to determine which combination of required courses and electives will best serve you. These courses are also open as electives to students who have not declared a concentration. NONPROFIT CONCENTRATION The Nonprofit Management concentration requires the following two courses plus three electives selected with your advisor. PUAD 5110 Seminar in Nonprofit Management Classroom format each fall Online format each spring PUAD 5140 Nonprofit Financial Management Classroom format each spring Online format each fall ENVIRONMENTAL CONCENTRATION The Environmental concentration requires the following classes plus three electives selected with your advisor. 3 Last modified March 28, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND HOMELAND SECURITY CONCENTRATION The EMHS concentration requires two of the following classes (all four are strongly suggested) plus three electives selected with your advisor. PUAD 5650 Public Policies for Homeland Security and Disasters PUAD 5655 Principles of Emergency Management PUAD 5450 Law of All-Hazards Management GEOG 5230 Hazard Mitigation and Vulnerability Assessment This class is scheduled by the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. To date, it has been offered each fall; check with that department to be sure of the schedule. 3
