1 The MODAF Technical Standards Viewpint Viewpint Summary The Technical Standards Viewpint details the s, rules, plicy and guidance that are applicable t aspects f the architecture. The Technical Standards Viewpint prvides 2 Technical Standard Views (TVs) that present bth technical and nn-technical s - i.e. TVs apply t systems (e.g. s, and prtcls), AND peratinal activities (e.g. peratinal dctrine and Standard Operating Prcedures (SOPs)). In additin they can be used fr ther nn-technical s, e.g. thse assciated with industry prcess. The elements cntained in the TVs will cme frm a number f surces including the plicy setting rganisatins in MOD, and interperability s frm the Spnsr f the architecture activity. The TVs shuld then be managed and updated thrughut the acquisitin lifecycle by the isatin fficers within Delivery Teams. 2 TV-1 - Standards Prfile TV-1 defines the technical and nn-technical s, guidance and plicy applicable t the architecture. The s specified in TV-1 may be traced t elements elsewhere in the architecture t indicate thse elements cnfrm t the s. Backgrund Standards are essential t the cherent running f businesses and t the delivery f reliable, interperable systems. The TV-1 lists all the currently ratified s that have been used thrughut the architecture, and s acts as a checklist t help the architect ensure cnfrmance. 4 TV-2 - Standards Frecast The Standards Frecast is identical t a TV-1 Standards Prfile except that the s listed in TV-2 are nt yet ratified (i.e. they are emerging r draft s). Backgrund The time frm initial cncept t fielded capability may be very lng. It is therefre necessary t be able t refer t s which, althugh nt ratified at the time f prducing the architecture, will have an impact n the capability. This culd be anything frm expected changes in legislatin arund spectrum management t future envirnment and safety s.
