KARATE OPEN PORTUGAL, Dear karate friends, It is a pleasure to invite you to visit one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Oporto, to participate in the International Karate Open of NPK in 2016, to be held in the iconic Pavilhão Rosa Mota, on 13th February This is the 14th edition of the NPK Open and the 5th International edition. Once again we have the privilege to welcome you to Oporto. This event is organized by the Núcleo Português de Karate in cooperation with the National Federation of Karate of Portugal and the city of Oporto. 3 N.P.K. KARATE OPEN PORTUGAL, It is the second largest city in Portugal, after Lisbon, and one of the largest urban areas of southeastern Europe. The urban area of Oporto, which extends beyond the administrative limits of the city, has a population of 1.4 million (2011) in an area of 389 km2. The manufacturing process, based on tradition, includes wine fermentation stopping by adding grape brandy. LOCATION Rosa Mota Pavilion is a multifaceted venue for sports, culture and entertainment, that has been the "home" of many important events in Portugal. Kata Masters is for competitors from 40 years. 4. Classes weight for Kumite: a. Youth i. Female -47 kg and +47 kg; ii. Male -48 kg and +48 kg; B. Cadets i. Female -53 kg and +53 kg; ii. Sending the confirmation of payment has to be made by the deadline of entries. 8. A cash prize of 50 will be awarded to winners in Kata and Kumite evidence for the Cadet ranks, Juniors, Seniors and Masters in Kata. 9. The race will be governed by the official rules FNKP / WKF for each level and race. There will be no specific change of rules. 10. The body protector are optional. Gloves, shin guards and teeth protector are required, as well as the protector of breasts for women's ranking. 11. All athletes are required to be accompanied of a personal identification document and present it whenever requested. 12. Violation of the preceding paragraph may lead to athlete disqualification. 13. It is the responsibility of the athlete to have the updated sports insurance. The organization is not liable for accidents occurring during the course of the race. 14. Entries must be held until the 6th February. 15. The draw will be published on the event page on facebook and the official website on 9 February. 16. Upon registration, the records are displayed in real time any correction after the closing of entries implies the payment of re-registration. 17. Complaints to the draw will be accepted up to 4pm on 11th February. 18. Changes the draw due to error in the inscriptions, shall be included in the draw for direct replacement of absent athletes on race day. 19. Coaches should print overlays that will be made available by the organization only in electronic form.

12 AIRPORT Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (IATA: OPO, ICAO: LPPR) or simply Oporto Airport is an international airport located within the city limits. It lies 11 km to the northeast of Pavilhão Rosa Mota in the center of Oporto. The airport is the second busiest in Portugal and serves as the basis for Easyjet, Ryanair, Tap Portugal and Portugalia.
