2 Day-by-Day Itinerary Day 3: Bled Lake Day 6: Portorož/Piran Day 1 Monday, June 12: Depart home cities for Slovenia. Kollander World Travel will be happy to quote airfare and offer travel insurance. Day 2 Tuesday, June 13: Arrival at Ljubljana airport/ Bled. Arrival at Ljubljana airport, followed by a meetand-greet. Transfer by bus to Bled. Welcome dinner at local restaurant or hotel, and overnight at hotel. (D) Day 3 Wednesday, June 14: Bled Lake. Today you will enjoy the views of the lake from the top of Bled castle. Our next visit is the small Bled Island that we reach in a typical local wooden boat called a pletna. On the island we will be greeted in the so-called Poticnica, where the local ladies will show you how they make potica. While it bakes, you will visit the church and the bell tower. Return to the Poticnica to see how they take the potica out of the oven, then try various kinds (with walnuts, tarragon, poppy seed, etc). Return to town and enjoy some free time. Don t forget to taste the famous cream cake! Afternoon free. Overnight at our Bled hotel. (B) Day 4 Thursday, June 15: Bled/Excursion to Bovec. After breakfast, drive to Bovec. We will take the road across the Predil pass. On the way, stop at Log pod Mangartom to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Julian Alps. Lunch will be included at one of the local restaurants in Bovec. After lunch, optional rafting on the Soča River (approximate duration 1.5 hours). The rest of the group will drive to the Trenta valley, stop at Soča gorge and continue to Dom Trenta for a presentation of Triglav National Park. If interested, continue to the source of the Soča River (15-20 minutes walking; not recommended for the elderly and small children) or visit the Juliana Alpine botanical garden. Juliana is the only botanical garden in Slovenia to have existed for over 70 years. Drive back to Bled for overnight. (B, L) Day 5 Friday, June 16: From Bled via Skočjan cave to Portorož. Drive toward Skočjan cave, which is registered on the UNESCO Heritage List. The park is located in the classical Karst region and is a true open-air museum. Here you can acquaint yourself with distinctive above-ground and subterranean karst phenomena, the most characteristic example of which is unequivocally the Skočjan caves system with its unique natural values. After the visit, enjoy wine tasting with a homemade snack. Before going to Portorož, visit the beautiful Miramare Castle in Trieste, Italy. The Miramare Castle is a combination of European and Mediterranean design that recreates a unique atmosphere, thanks to the presence of the sea which lends its light blue colors to the tapestry on the ground floor of the castle and inspires the names and furnishings of many of the rooms. Dinner in the hotel. (B, WT, D) Day 6 Saturday, June 17: Portorož/Slovenian coast. Morning at leisure at the hotel. Around noon, depart by boat from Portorož and travel along the Slovenian coast to Piran. Picnic-style lunch with musical entertainment (accordion player) included during the cruise. Disembark in Piran and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this picturesque town with your tour director. Evening at leisure. (B, L)

Day 7: Ljubljana Day 7 Sunday, June 18: Portoroz/Ljubljana. After breakfast, leave the town of Portorož and drive toward Ljubljana. On the way, we end the tour of the Karst region with a visit to Predjama castle, perched high up in a vertical cliff. In the afternoon, a walking tour of Ljubljana. Visit the most significant sites of the old city center: the picturesque, central, open-air market and the Three Bridges, both designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik; the Baroque town hall; and Robba s Fountain. Take a cable car to Ljubljana castle (tour of the castle tower and museum not included). Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight in Ljubljana. (B, D) Day 8 Monday, June 19: Ljubljana/Excursion to Repnice and Rogatec. First we drive to Bizeljsko village near the settlement of Brezovica, the home of the Repnice natural cellars. With a constant temperature that ranges between 40 to 50 Fahrenheit and with ideal humidity, these cellars are ideal for storing wine. On the way to Rogatec, stop in Šentjur at a local restaurant (Jug or similar). Rogatec is the site of the large open-air museum and cultural monument, and the biggest Slovenian ethnological park of typical rural architecture in the sub-pannonian region of central Styria. By renovating the old farm buildings and through its programs, the museum preserves the heritage of vernacular architecture and revives the heritage of the folk culture. Drive back to Ljubljana; free evening. (B,L) Day 9 Tuesday, June 20: Ljubljana/Excursion to Maribor and Ptuj. After breakfast, drive to Maribor where you will board a timber raft. The happy mood aboard will be contributed to by the Splavarski Trio (Rafter s Trio) with their Slovenian music. They will also enrich your experience aboard with a Rafter s Baptism of one of the guests. The program also includes a presentation of Drava River timber rafting as in past times: a rafter s snack, drinks, and a tasting of traditional rafter s coffee, which is brewed aboard in the raft s kitchen just as it was in days of old. During the raft trip you will also have a light lunch (bowl of traditional goulash). Drive to Ptuj to visit the old town and the Ptujska klet wine cellar, and try the best samples of their wines. Drive back to Ljubljana for a farewell dinner with the Snežnik Band. (B, LIGHT LUNCH, WT, D) Day 10 Wednesday, June 21: Depart Ljubljana. Bid farewell to Ljubljana and Slovenia in the morning. Transfer to the Ljubljana airport. 4 Terms and Conditions FULL PAYMENT IS DUE BY APRIL 10, Kollander World Travel will quote airfare from your home city. Call for a quote. 2. Baggage Allowance: Baggage fees may apply. Check with your carrier for fees and size of bags. However, the tour operator has requested that there be a limit of one (1) large suitcase at 50 pounds per person due to space restrictions aboard the motorcoach. NO RESPONSIBILITY IS INCURRED FOR LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO BAGGAGE OR ANY OF THE PASSENGER'S PERSONAL BELONGINGS. TRAVEL BAGGAGE INSURANCE IS RECOMMENDED AND AVAILABLE THROUGH KOLLANDER TRAVEL. 3. Passport Requirements: A valid passport is required of all tour participants. A U.S. passport is valid for 10 years. Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months following your return to the United States. To apply for passports, you can contact either your local passport office, clerk of the district, or county court. Kollander World Travel will be happy to help you obtain the necessary forms. 4. Tour Price Excludes: Airport departure taxes; customs user fees; passports; all visa fees; optional tours; telephone, telex, fax and telegram charges; excess baggage charges; sundry tips; laundry; beverages and food not on the regular table d hôte menu (these items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel or restaurant); portage at U.S./Canadian airports; and all other items of a personal nature. Service charges at hotels and restaurants are prepaid. Travel insurance is not included. 5. Refund and Unused or Amended Tour Arrangements: Unused hotel accommodations, tour features or services are non-refundable, nor exchangeable for other accommodations, services or features. Should there be any reason to change features of the tour for the group, any additional expenses will be charged to the tour members. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, hotels substituted will be the equivalent of those shown. Single room available at a supplemental charge. 6. Cancellation Penalties: If you cancel your reservation, your right to receive a refund is limited as set forth in the following schedules. All requests for refunds must be sent to us in writing. Charges for cancellation of the tour will be assessed by the participating airlines, tour operators, and hotels as follows: After deposit... U.S. $ per person, plus insurance days prior to departure percent per person 29 days or less prior to departure percent penalty and no refund Once airfare is purchased, airfare is non refundable. Cancellation charges also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour. 7. Insurance: While every effort is made to ensure that baggage is properly handled and that the cancellation charges to you are kept to a minimum, Kollander World Travel cannot be held responsible for damages, loss or theft of luggage or personal belongings. You may secure a policy for baggage insurance, as well as insurance against sickness or accident, or trip cancellation and interruption insurance, through Kollander World Travel. Important terms concerning pre-existing medical conditions, which are not covered, are described in the insurance brochure which will be sent for your review. 8. Revisions: A handling fee of U.S. $30.00 per transaction will be charged for any alteration or revision. A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 45 days of departure will be treated as a cancellation and new booking; regular cancellation fees apply. 9. Responsibility Clause: Kollander World Travel, Cleveland, Ohio, (hereinafter referred to as the Company ) is responsible to you in making arrangements for the tour services offered in this brochure, including transportation, sightseeing and hotel accommodations. The carriers, hotels and other suppliers providing tour services are independent contractors and are not agents, employees or servants of or joint ventures with the Company. All certificates and other travel documents for tour services issued by the Company are subject to the terms and conditions specified by the suppliers and to the laws of the countries in which services are supplied. If the services included on the tour cannot be supplied or there are changes in an itinerary for reasons beyond the control of the Company, the Company will arrange for the provision of comparable services. Any resulting additional expenses will be payable by tour participants, and any resulting savings will be refunded by the Company to tour participants. The Company reserves the right to make changes in the itinerary whenever the Company deems it necessary to the comfort, convenience or safety of the tour participants, and to cancel a tour at any time. If the Company cancels a tour, it shall have no responsibility beyond the refund of all monies paid to the Company by the tour participant. The tour participant agrees that Kollander World Travel shall not be liable for any damages, loss (including personal injury, death and property loss) or expenses occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing tour services or of any other person. No person, other than an authorized representative of the Company by a document in writing, is authorized to vary any term or condition in this brochure, including any term or condition set forth in the preceding provisions.
