2 Infopack Dear parters, finally, we did it! This summer we will have the beautiful opportunity to experience a youth exchange in Arona, under the big theme of the international exposition in Milano. And this is a Platform Network Exchange!!! Please read carefully the infos written below, and ask us if you need Miguel Belletti and the Vedogiovane staff! Vedogiovane s.c.s., Pagina 2

3 Venue The youth exchange will be made in Arona, Piedmont, Italy ( Arona,_Piedmont) It s a lovely city on the second biggest lake in Italy, Lago Maggiore ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lake_maggiore). Connections Arona is 25 kilometres (16 miles) north of Milan's Malpensa International Airport, actually closer than Milan itself. It is also connected to the railway network, being one of the main stops in the important link between Milan and Switzerland that passes Domodossola (another parallel link travels through Como). We suggest to fly on Malpensa airport or to travel with the train from Milano Centrale rail station. It s also possible to use the other international airports nearby: Milano Linate, Orio al Serio, Turin airport. It s important to consider the costs you have to pay for the local travel from airport to the venue of the exchange (bus and train). Vedogiovane s.c.s., Pagina 3

4 Accomodation and food Why this accommodation? The exchange will be very rich of activities and all of this are very expensive. With a very basic accommodation we can give a good level of activities (included the entrance to EXPO) without any fee During the exchange we will be hosted in the Oratorio di Arona, the parrish youth centre of Arona. The accommodation will be very basic: the participants have to bring with them towels and sheets (better a sleeping bag) and all the stuffs for the personal hygiene. They will share at least a 4-bed rooms, sometimes a 6-bed rooms. The showers and the toilets will be in common. The meals will be served on Wood youth centre ( a place located at 25mt from the Oratorio. The catering will be produced by professional cookers in a very italian style! The period, the group of partners and the costs The Exchange has a duration of 10 full days, and it will take place from the 15th to 24th of july 2015 (arrival during the 15th and departure the 25th). We suggest to book the fly as soon as possible, in order to have the better prices. Our exchange is quite crowded, we will be 66 people, including the youth leaders. We have foreseen 7 participants + 1 leader for each national group, and all the participants have to be more than 18 years old. It s strictly recommended to select the participants taking in count the gender balance. As stated by Erasmus plus program, who is cofunding the project, we will reimburse travel costs at least as specified below: Who can participate? a. more than 18 years old, male and female b. interested on the main topic c. able to speak english (more or less ) d. able to stay in crowded situations, in big sleeping rooms and with sharing bathrooms e. open to know each others, eager to provide his resources for the success of the exchange Vedogiovane s.c.s., Pagina 4

The theme and the objectives The main theme is connected with the big event in Milano, the EXPO ( and the possibility to work on it as a possible source of learning of competences. The objectives: a) to acquire new resources (knowledge, skills, attitudes ) to be more competent trough action (workshops and experiences) and reflection; b) to experience the cultural diversity both inside the group both during the visit in EXPO2015, transforming it in learning outcomes (during the reflection time, but also using the ) c) to gain a new way to reflect on the actions, in order to use it all the time in which I want to learn from the experience; d) get to know Arona and Lago Maggiore, their resources from the point of view of the young citizens who live there. e) to have FUN, FUN,FUN! In each lab (3 h.) they will have the possibility to learn to do one thing that have to produce an output: one product or one performance. This will prove the competence acquired. The labs will be l e a d e d b y y o u n g entrepreneurs which are working on this topics: kitchen, fablab, theatre and circus, music, digital photo, social media. Why? 7 Timing and deadlines We need to know the numbers of your group very soon in order to have the following schedule 20 of may: deadline to communicate the numbers of participant and the contact info of the youth leader between 20 of may and 10 of june: skype meeting with the leaders, in order to prepare the exchange in a cooperative way 10 of june: infos about travel and the name of participants (filling the grid we will send to the partners, useful for the mobility tool). and then: let s go!
