Standard 4B+ is a recent revision to USPS Standard 4B, which applies to apartment mailboxes ( Receptacles, Apartment House, Mail ). This standard revision requires improved Arrow lock compartment security on horizontal and vertical wall-mounted mailboxes. In many cases, 4B+ product designs include hardened Arrow lock bracketry and master gate doors as well as the removal of an outgoing mail slot. Standard 4B+ was implemented in late 2004 and is currently in effect.
