1 The Committees of District 6630 in GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Committee chairs may be asked to attend a Board of Directors meeting to either share goals or give reports Committee chairs may be asked to submit reports to the Council of PDGs Committee chairs may ask for PDG help in accomplishing goals Committee chairs may be asked to offer programming for the DTA and/or the Distr Conf of Clubs Committee chairs may request funds as need to meet their goals Committee chair may select team members (cognizant of involving more Rotarians and Rotarians from different cluster) Committee chairs should send a report and/or meeting schedule to both the District website and newsletter Advisory Council of Past Governors PDG Jack Young, Chair jack1villa@aol.com This committee meets about 4 times a year. The purpose of this committee is to renew friendships, keep the PDGs informed about the district and seek feedback. This committee also allows the PDGs to ask questions and offer advice PDGs are the members of this committee All Ohio Pets Cheryl Warren, Chair cawarren@neo.rr.com This committee is charged with planning the training session in Columbus for the club presidents This committee meets in Columbus and has five voting members. The voting members are the Immediate PDG, the current DG, the DGE, DGN and one additional member. The DGE chooses the committee It meets about 4 times to plan the All OHIO PETS.
2 Alumni Dave Diffendal, Chair This committee will keep track of the various students who have benefitted from our program The committee compiles a listing of those who have benefitted from Rotary program and are not Rotarians This committee will plan a reunion activity with them to follow up on their lives since receiving a Rotary Award This committee also encourages membership in Rotary Members of this committee are representatives from various clusters and programs. The main meeting purpose will be to plan the reunion event Awards Jackie Minotas, Chair jminotas@hotmail.com This committee helps with the awards program at the end of the year The committee works with the DG to plan the event and to order the awards There should be minimal meeting time mainly during the spring of the year The committee may also have a rep to the District Conference Committee Banner Exchange Shotwell (Medina Sunrise) and Judy Davanzo, Co-Char This committee plans the event in respect to location, food, help, invitations. The committee uses the DG s club to help with the event The committee members are from the DG s home club bshotwell@stopngo.biz mdavanzo@zoominternnetnet Board of Directors DG Michael Davanzo, Chair mdavanzo@zoominternet.net This committee s membership is dictated by our bylaws The committee meets on a quarterly basis This committee receives reports from all committees This committee votes on the procedures and policies of the district This committee receives requests for changes in the operating procedures of the district
3 Club Chair This committee mirrors the individual club s committee This committee is a resource person at the district level to clubs This committee focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. This committee is responsible for the atmosphere of the club This committee offers programming for the DTA and DCC Club Support: This is an advisory committee It is a resource to clubs that would like assistance in helping with a club that is wanting help This committee is comprised on PDGs who will act as on call to go where needed This club functions on as an invited basis Community Chair This committee mirrors the individual club s committee This committee focuses on the club s relationship to its community o How to pick projects o How to do a community survey o How to make an impact on the local community This committee offers programming for the DTA and DCC District Assembly This committee plans the District Training Assembly Membership is the District Leadership Development and Training Committee Others may be added as the committee sees fit Meeting times are set by need
4 District Committee for Leadership PDG Steve Zabor Development and Training This committee is made up of chairs of various committees This committee is responsible for planning the major education events of the district This committee is responsible for working with and developing future leaders. The committee will meet more often before PETS ONE and the DTA and then meet more by electronic communication after that. Meetings are planned by the Chair and called as needed. The chair of this committee is also on the committees for all training programs in the district District Conference of Clubs This committee plans the conference in April Works with the District Committee for LD and Education for the program This committee will plan the weekend (date and place have been established) The committee will meet monthly starting in August or as needed District Transition Committee Julie West, Chair This committee is composed of the immediate past three district governors, the current district governor, DGE,DGN, and DGND This committee meets four to five times a year The purpose is to assure for a smooth transition from one DG to the next Another purpose is to conduct in house training, district specific, for the incoming DG The committee also discusses the calendar of activities for each level of the incoming DG starting at the DGND level
5 Finance John Weber, Chair This committee is responsible for overseeing the budget of the district The committee initially approves the district budget The committee makes financial recommendations to the DG and BOD The committee oversees the audit procedures This committee addresses the issues that arise in relations to budget items The committee meets on a quarterly basis Membership is dictated by the bylaws and terms are for three one year periods Foundation James Lechko, Chair jlechko@ffl.net This committee has a number of subcommittee The sub committees include: grants, giving, programs, and oversight There is a chair for each subcommittee The grants committee accepts grant requests, approves them, and follows them through complete. This committee meets on the first Monday of the month. Members represent each cluster The Fundraising arm of the committee is in charge of annual giving, major gifts, permanent fund. This committee meets more as individual committees. The annual giving arm is chaired by the current DGN. The programs committee encompasses global scholars, VTT, and polio plus The oversight committee is responsible for the oversight of the finances for the committee Foundation Event Marsha Pappalardo and Judy Davanzo cmpappa@aol.com, mdavanzo@zoominternet.net This committee helps plan the foundation event in November or close to it This committee works on the program, invitations, and details of the event The committee also works with the previous DG to incorporate the foundation awards from the previous years
6 Gift of Life Ken Fogel and Jim Frame, Co-Chairs This committee coordinates the Gift of Lift Program Historian Ed Thomas, Chair This committee works on the saving and sharing the rich history of our district Literacy Committee Beth Shriver, Chair This committee is in charge of suggesting a literacy project for the district This committee is in charge of helping clubs with their own literacy project This committee is in charge of setting the criteria for the district literacy award Membership Tony Carrao, Chair acorrao@homesavings.com This committee is responsible for education the district in the areas of membership recruitment and membership retention The chairs are on the District Committee for Leadership Development and Training Besides putting on programs, the committee can also visit clubs Membership Extension Al Connors alconners@gmail.com, This committee is responsible for searching out new areas for clubs This committee will work with existing adjourning clubs to grow a new club The committee will help in the formation and guide the clubs through the process Newsletter Mike Johns Jr, chair stonecut@sbcglobal.net This committee solicits articles and publishes them in the newsletter
7 Nominating Committee Bob Johnson This committee is chosen by the DG This committee nominates potential candidates for various offices in the district This committee does conduct the interviews for the DGND and picks the person. On to Brazil Cheryl Warren, Chair This committee is usually the chair This committee coordinates the international convention within the district This committee promotes the convention and keeps the membership informed about the convention Polio Fundraiser This committee works with the Polio committee of the grants committee This committee will help plan, organize and administer the district fund raiser for Polio Polio Lighting a Building This committee will explore lighting a building in Cleveland with the End Polio Logo This committee will work on finding a building to light This committee will work on getting the approval to light the building This committee will work with the Polio Fundraiser to present a event for the district either free standing or in conjunction with another event This committee will explore having the Rotarians march around the field before the game. Dress would be a polio style T- Shirt This committee will explore getting a PSA about polio on the scoreboard during the Rotary night at the Indians game This committee will explore getting the End Polio Now logo on the scoreboard at the Indians game of Rotary Night
8 Public Image This committee will help promote the image of Rotary in District 6630 This committee will be or arrange for photographers for district events This committee will coordinate the process of getting pictures from clubs of their fundraiser and service projects This committee will coordinate the process of getting lists from clubs of the clubs projects and donations This committee will work with the local media to promote the many good deeds of District 6630 This committee will work with the social media committee, web committee and newsletter committee to help promote District s 6630 activities. The committee will work with DG to put together a presentation to be running throughout the District Conference of Club. The presentation will highlight all the clubs and their activities throughout the year Public Image Grant This committee will help write the grant for the PI Grant This committee will work very closely with the PI Committee, the Polio Fundraiser Committee and the Polio Lighting a Building Committee This committee will explore other means of promoting Rotary in the District with the help of a PI grant Rotary Day This committee will coordinate the Rotary Day program for the district Work with the AGs to determine what is the best way to implement RIP Gary Huang s idea of a Rotary Day Shelter Box/Shoe Box Jack Young, Chair jack1villa@aol.com This committee will represent our district in these two projects This committee will work with clubs to help them understand the programs involved This committee will promote the programs
9 Social Media Shon Christy The chair is a member of the District Leadership Development and Training Committee This committee will help educate the members on the use and value of social media This committee will help promote the district through social media Strategic Planning Committee Bob Meyer, Chair bobmeyer@executivestrategies.net This committee is responsible to see that the Strategic Plan developed during is being carried out This committee is responsible for keeping the plan current This committee is responsible for promoting and updating the progress of the plan Sunshine Geneva Prince Geneve.Prince@consulatehc.com This committee will send cards(notes of sympathy) to families of Rotarians who pass away during the year This committee will send card to Rotarians who have a loss of a parent, spouse, child This committee will put in place a method to receive such information to carry out its task Vocational The chair of this committee is on the Leadership Development and Training Committee This committee will act as a club s committee This committee will explore ways of incorporating vocational activities in clubs This committee will promote vocations service at conferences Youth Services The chair of this committee is on the Leadership Development and Training Committee This committee encompasses all the youth programs in the district (youth exchange, RYLA, Interact, Rotoract, Four Way Speech Contest, Alumni, and other youth programs) The chair will oversee the programs and work with the chairs to offer programming to the district at conferences and at individual club meetings.
